Morning all.
Damp and dull here drizzling lightly but warm. Hope it clears was planning on cleaning out car.
Got hosp appoint this afternoon.

Work txt yest to ask if i can work frid and sat now realised i will be working 6 days on the trot as working mon for colleage who swapped shift for me before hols😲

Thanks MrsJ not keen on Dyson i know people who have/had them and hated them. We have the 'rollerball' at work and its so heavy and not easy to manouver at all. Plus they are a bit too expensive for me😀 really annoyed as the vacuum was great to start with very poweful now just a pain.

Hope you all have a good day.

bookbook · 16/07/2018 08:36

Morning all
well, a bit cooler and fresher here, but still hot , and no sign of rain sadly .
84 - sounds like a fabulous time was had , but poor Bumble ...
Willow - mm , its hard to say on the green thing - if it's not a weed, it looks a bit like a hollyhock - when it flowers, you will soon know!
We have had a Vax for a few years , been fine and lightweight, but it's started to not work so well ( its about 7 years old and the brushes are worn ) and DH is incensed , as the part that needs replacing is nearly as expensive as buying a new one ( he is a whizz at mending/sorting vacuums ) . We have bought a Hoover, which though a bit heavier, actually pushes easier IYSWIM. Being tight, he bought one from ebay from one of these catalogue return companies . Brand new, but opened packaging , not totally sure how much it was -but not too bad so will ask him .
Ugh about working 6 days on the trot!
MrsJ - nearly holiday time - hope you got it all sorted , ready
Horse - ooh a full house again ( I found it felt very odd having everyone back home , almost cramped , after having the house to ourselves for so long) - the fridge will get emptied quick I bet! At least with this weather, the duvet will have dried!
Had a really easy afternoon yesterday, just sorting out freezing all my berries and currants , ( will have to give my freezer a good sort, they have just been slung in Blush ) , then crocheted and watched tennis . Was a bit weary, as I don't sleep in this heat ,so I have a bit to catch up on today .
But I am going to get on and do some sewing as well this afternoon .
Have a great day everyone

Chasingsquirrels · 16/07/2018 08:40

Just catching up, sounds like everyone had good weekends.

84 glad the show was good and they sorted you & Wilf out. Poor Bumbledog. And take care of yourself this week x

Willow hope the appointment is okay and 6 shifts isn't too much for you. I've got a vax upright that I got recently for £99, to replace my previous vax upright that just stopped working - so maybe not a good recommendation.

horsemad enjoy your houseful.

bookbook when does dgs finish and will you need to pick up any childcare duties over the summer? My boys finish next Tuesday.

Have a good day MrsJ.

The show was really great on Saturday evening and lovely to catch up with my friend beforehand.

Chasingsquirrels · 16/07/2018 08:41

I meant to say hollyhock too, although they are all in full flower here so that threw me - but its probably a bit behind up there?

C came round Saturday night on his way back from seeing his daughter up north, to stay the night and have Sunday together.
Lazy morning Sunday, then went out to Ely, had lunch and a walk along the river. Lots of conversation about our pasts on both sides.
He told me he some stuff he hasn't mentioned before, which took some discussion although I understand why he waited a while to share it, and I'm glad he has done so.
Then I took him to meet my parents!

I'm holding back on him meeting the boys, because there is just no need, but I want him to meet other people in my life.

Then the boys were back late afternoon and we went over to my parents for the evening.

Willow2017 · 16/07/2018 12:16

I was wondering about holyhocks as i did have them in my garden but they really didnt do much 1st year so fingers crossed.

Sounds like a lovely weekend Squirrels its good sign he is sharing stuff with you and meeting your parents😀

Have been continuing in manic cleaning mode😀 have been emptying and cleaning kitchen cupboards and putting out stuff thats ood. Taking things put that are just cluttering up. Did the tops of the units 😲 and have washed all my jugs that live there. Will pack them up later. Bit scary as some are very old. Just got glass fronted cupboards to do but need to get ready to go to hosp soon.
Just realised i have my gp appoint on day i said i will work for colleage so might try just getting appoint in morning then cancel other one. Ds1 complaining that he has pins and nedles/no feeling down left side of neck! I suspect posture due to playing on pc for blooming hours but maybe i should have it checked out?

Will check out vax. I need a lightweight one too so fingers crossed.

Busy as usual Book. I havent been sleeping much either its too hot even with windows open! Plus started steroids sat so probably not helping😀

Better get a move on i suppose.

Horsemad · 16/07/2018 16:35

God I feel lousy - got a UTI I think. Been to the loo countless times today. Sad Feel SO miserable with it & can't make an appt with GP until tomorrow at 8am, so debating whether to go to walk in centre (which is 15 miles away!).

What did your parents think of C Chasing?

Hope your vacuum woes are sorted Willow, I need a new one, want a Shark but DH wants a cordless Dyson.

Oh lordy, need a wee AGAIN & DS in the bathroom...! Shock

Chasingsquirrels · 16/07/2018 17:13

Oh horsemad hope you get yourself sorted x

Parents didn't comment on C, but then they don't so that's not unusual!

Have ds1 home unexpectedly as the school info evening tonight involves the child (as per email at 12.3p today) so he's come home on the bus instead of going to his dad's, is currently making flapjack for Explorers bbq this evening that I'm dropping him at after the school thing. Then his step mum is collecting him to theirs and C is coming over for the evening.

I've just had an hour or so cutting back in the front garden and am hot and sweaty. Had tea as I'm on a very low calorie day and might have some lemon sorbet later.

OP posts:
Horsemad · 16/07/2018 18:02

Am at the walk in centre now.

Willow2017 · 16/07/2018 18:06

Ooh poor you Horse hope you get it cleared up pdq. Its a horrible thing to have.

Hosp basically a chat and will ger 2 more appoints. One for scan by Dr and another for camera!

Packed up my jugs and cleaned out car but cant hoover it out! I have no idea why ths stupid thing isnt working. Cleaned filters put bit of filter stuff where a bit fell apart and still not sucking properly. And just realised its a vax! Arghh.
Making tea and have a load of stuff to take upstairs and put somewhere!

Crikey its all go with you tonight Squirrels hope it all goes smoothly.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/07/2018 18:34

Sounds good Squirrel glad you're getting on well.

*HorseI I hope you get seen quickly and get ABs. Maybe send the boys out for cranberry juice as that's meant to help too!

book that's not a quiet day is it? Also struggling with the heat now!

Willow you need a Star for all that work.

Hope you're OK 84

Have survived without losing the plot - about the best I can do right now!

bookbook · 16/07/2018 18:51

Horse - hope you get seen quickly, and get sorted . UTI's can make you feel really grotty. Lots to drink is my advice - ( and agree with cranberry juice ) to try and flush it out .
Chasing - it all seems to be happening for you. In a way, its good that you are finding the things about his past now - and feel as if maybe he is doing well, bringing it up to let you take in the info to process before you gat in any further.
DGS finishes school on Friday . We will be picking him up tomorrow, then having him for a day and overnight in a couple of weeks time.
We shall probably have him sometime over the holidays later on, as well , when DD needs to get on with prep work for September .
Willow - you are being good to the LL's - I don't think they deserve that in truth. Odd that they were helping - probably feeling guilty ( well I hope so anyway! )
MrsJ - not long now - are you sorted ready for holidays?
Done quite well today, but it is still much too humid here - just want a good downpour, save a vast amount of time and energy watering!

Willow2017 · 16/07/2018 20:23

Book just had to rush out to get washing as we have had a downpour here! Sorry if it hasnt reached you too. Saved me having to water pots although gave them a good soak last pm.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/07/2018 20:37

Really wish it would rain here Sad Who would have thought I'd ever say that!

I'm as ready as I can be as in we know where we are going, we''ve got a list of things to pack and I've now got shampoo, toothpaste, cereal and crisps, tissues etc ready in a bag... but I'm guessing Thursday night will be packing and Friday morning will be cleaning...but first I will have to go watch the school assembly as DS is getting an award Star Smile

Horsemad · 16/07/2018 20:38

I am home. Kidney infection and on antibiotics. No wonder I felt so awful, could cry with the pain & I have quite a high pain threshold.

Now tucked up in bed with a hottie (water bottle sadly, although I'm fit for nothing presently!)
Have taken some painkillers & trying to drink lots of water.

bookbook · 16/07/2018 20:53

ooh, horrid poor you Horse - hope the AB's get to work quickly Flowers
Its black clouds here, but no rain yet - all fingers and toes crossed .
MrsJ - well done your DS !

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/07/2018 21:23

Flowers horse try and get some sleep

Willow2017 · 16/07/2018 21:48

Oh thats rotten Horse get well soon.

MrsJ well done ds😀

Still raining Book but still hot.

More packing but think i need to redo the books the boxes are too heavy! What a pia. My room is filling up! Think i am just going to get charity shops to collect all the cm stuff sick of them taking up half the living room! But have had a request for photos of buggy on fb advert. Not another enquiry on anything at all. Will need to do that tomorrow if it stops raining😀

Chasingsquirrels · 17/07/2018 07:24

horsemad hope the anti-B's are kicking in and you are feeling a little better than last night and improve through the day.

Willow boxes of books are always really heavy - too heavy for ds1 to lift and carry for you?
Have you found anywhere yet?

MrsJ well done ds on his award, what a little star :)

book sounds like you will have some nice time with dgs over the summer, and a little less rushed than after school can be.

Seems amazing that they are both through their first year at school.

84 hope bumbledog has been okay.

Lots of running around yesterday, school thing was very hot and a bit pointless - about revision, how to, different methods and use of tech. Really they could have just done it for the kids.

Then dropped ds1 at Explorers for their end of year bbq, got petrol on the way home, vacuumed, watered the front garden as it was really looking like it needed it, tidied up a bit, bit of a sit down and catchup then an early night. Which maybe wasn't quite so early by the time we got to sleep.
Seems cooler this morning, but beautiful blue sky so it is probably going to be another scorcher, 32c when I left work at 3pm yesterday.

Picking up some records from a client later this afternoon after work, then scout committee meeting this evening - so have booted the laptop up to make sure the accounts are up to date before I go to work.

Definitely good to be finding out things at this stage book, nothing bad, although I needed to process it, just history and a bit painful for him to share - so I'm glad that he wanted and felt able to. We sat by the river on Sunday afternoon and just chatted things through.

Have a good day all

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 17/07/2018 09:23

Morning all.

Had a long lie! Well woke at 5.30 but did drop off again and didnt get up till 8.30😀
A bit cloudy but not cold despite the breeze. Rained heavily through the night but fingers crossed for a nice day.

Squirrels am thinking about the removal men i dont want them complaining the boxes are too heavy to carry downstsirs😀 will look in garage as i have other boxes in there that might be better. I have so many books i am trying to be ruthless and get rid of some as i go.

Really annoyed that i cant sell my cm stuff i have some really good stuff like a puppet theatre with good puppet sets plus kids football table just no takers for anything. Even tried job lot to see if any car booters would take the lot but zip. Have bumped them up on gumtree so fingers crossed.

Need to get buggy out and photograph it this morning.

Horse hope the abs have kicked in and you feel better this morning.

Love the photo of Charlie and big dog Charlie looks tiny in comparison😁

bookbook · 17/07/2018 10:45

Morning
well, its warm , not hot , a lot fresher . We had thunder and lightening , but virtually no rain here last night.
I did get a good nights sleep though :)
Pottered this morning - washing hung out , some courgette and cheese muffins made to go with us this afternoon.
Will be off shortly to go to the market before lunch.
Will be off straight after lunch as I have a bit of shopping to do , and need to be at school half an hour early to see DGS in a little fashion show ( I think thats what it is ...) . Home after tea, then off to a committee meeting .
that sounds odd Willow , children's stuff gets snapped up around here . ( Being a retired book dealer , I hear you on the weight! )
That is a fabulous picture Chasing !
Horse - hope you are starting to feel better today .
Have a good day everyone

Willow2017 · 17/07/2018 11:08

Well painting done and touched up a few bits here and there. Really needs the whole lot done but not worth the effort as I know they will just rip it all out.
Photos done, fingers crossed she wants the buggy at least that would be something!

Onwards and upwards, washing out first then books here I come! (I jut hate parting with books!)

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/07/2018 13:46

Hi all, sounds like you're all doing well. horse I hope that you are resting up and feeling better already.
