You have quite a big garden though squirrel so guessing it id never ending.

Hot already!

Chasingsquirrels · 06/07/2018 07:14

Willow2017 · 06/07/2018 17:45

Evening all. Well we made it! Trip fine driving across from one side of Scottish borders to next was glorious. Spent an hour trying to find the place! Google maps had me denented and all ovet the place. Colwyn bay lovely but the streets are hellish! Nearly got stuck! House is lovely. Trying to pluck up courage to go to CB for tea😀 there is a pub practically next door but it says you should book in advance but might chance it.

Hope you are all enjoying the sun this pm.

Chasingsquirrels · 06/07/2018 18:38

Love that part of the world willow.
My grandparents had a caravan on Anglesey and I spent a lot of time there as a child.

MrsJonesAndMe · 06/07/2018 19:29

Have a wonderful time. I'm in my PJs waiting for mum to call and then won't be long before I go to bed - though it would be useful if it cooled down a bit!

Horsemad · 06/07/2018 20:58

You're in a nice part of the world Willow, not far from where I grew up 🙂
Have a great holiday!

bookbook · 06/07/2018 21:00

Evening!
yay Willow - have a fabulous break :)
MrsJ - seriously thinking of getting into my bedclothes. Very hot and sticky here
Done 2 trips to the allotment today - this morning to weed , and start picking blackcurrants ( 1.7 kg so far and counting ...) , then late afternoon to water and pick courgettes ( 4 today, 5 yesterday ....!)
In between have washed and ironed .
Tonight I have made a summer pudding for Sunday ( Its DH's favourite, so I make one big one when all the fruits are in season ) and some vanilla icecream to go with it.
Just sat down to watch Today at Wimbledon
I am working in the shop tomorrow - I suspect due to the heat I may be very quiet . The afternoon, I am off out to have a bumble around the shops while DH and DD2 go car hunting for DD2. ( She has decided its time to change hers ) I am looking out for some nice material to make a sundress .
Hope everyone has a comfortable nights sleep ( probably not me .... Grin )

Willow2017 · 06/07/2018 21:11

Book busy as usual. Where on earth do you put all that fruit and veg?

We are all stuffed, had puds too😀 black cherry cheesecake for me yummm. And 2 glasses of wine😀
Landlord nice, might have given him my number 😉

House has proper old fashioned latches on the indoor doors ds2 fascinated😀

Funnily enough i was thinking i should maybe change cars soon as we dont need such a big one anymore (apart from going on hol!!) And maybe should trade it in before anything else fails.

bookbook · 06/07/2018 21:18

I have 2 chest freezers Willow - as big a one as would fit in my utility room - its about 5' long and about 13/14 cubic feet and another in the garage a bit smaller for backup. :)

bookbook · 06/07/2018 21:22

so landlord is okay then ? Grin
thats what DD2 thought - shes just had it MOT'd , its running nicely , but its getting a bit old, though not masses on the clock, so thinks she may get a good deal. She is just going to get a newer version of it , as she like's it a lot.

Willow2017 · 06/07/2018 22:35

I meant pub landlord Book😉
House landlord is female but nice on phone.😀

I dont have room for 1 chest freezer not fair.
So hot am roasting just sitting watching tv.

Horsemad · 07/07/2018 08:00

DS1 is 21 today! Wish I was 21 again...!

Ironically, I am having de ja vu and am experiencing the same sort of gripey pain that I was this time 21 years ago - this time it's a stomach bug, not labour... Hmm

Trust me to be I'll today - probably won't make it to his birthday meal tonight Sad

Willow2017 · 07/07/2018 08:56

Aww Horse thats rotten. Hope its minor and doesnt get bad and you make the meal.
Happy Birthday ds🍺🎂🍾
Oh to be 21 again😀

So much for a long lie this morning! Woke uo a few times overnight and gave up at 8. Bed isnt long so when i wriggle down i bang my feet off the bars😀 Blooming sore today from all the driving. Ds2 expecting to hit the beach today and we can have a wander round town, maybe go see the castle too. Need to book tickets on railway at some point too.

Sun shining its gonna be hot again.

bookbook · 07/07/2018 09:19

Morning !
Horse - Many Happy Returns to your DS - hope the gripey pain eases and its not as bad as feared .
Willow - not surprised you are sore after all the driving , enjoy the sunshine !
Well, just got myself all ready to go to do my stint. at the shop . I have a reminder on my phone , didn't hear it. No wonder - its next Saturday - the heat is getting to me...But it means I can do a bit of other stuff instead .
Have a lovely day everyone

Willow2017 · 07/07/2018 09:47

I am glad its not just me who gets days wrong. I am forever double checking things theses days.
I took the kids up to school once (primary) and it was closed! But there was another parent there too so didnt feel so daft😀 also kept them off once as thought it was a holiday till school rang me😀😀 now i check and double check.

Someone give me a push. Sitting in conservatory with toast and cafetierre (spelling?) Someone left bag of coffee and marmalade very civil of them. There is a proper coffe machine but no instructions might try it later.

Chasingsquirrels · 07/07/2018 10:01

Sounds blissful Willow, enjoy - you are on holiday 🙂.

Happy 21th Birthday to ds1 horsemad and hope your gripes don't last.

Oh well book, at least up and doing and not the other way round!

Worked all week, not used to it. Plus the same the week before and next week. At least I don't do full days.

C came over last night & brought his (v large) dog. It was attacked as a pup and is apparently [santa]quite reactive. We took them for an on lead walk a little way apart then had them in separate parts of the house/garden where they could see & smell each other but restricted access via a gate. It went really well and we eventually let them meet properly. Charlie was very submissive but wanted to play but scardy and Big Dog was skitish when Charlie bounded near him. Charlie spent a lot of time under a chair or table peeking out with his tail wagging madly and Big Dog sniffing at him. We settled them down to sleep in separate areas and that was it till morning. Hopefully that's going to make logistics a bit easier!

Haha, loving the scene you described about Big Dog & Charlie meeting, Chasing!
Can you tell me what breed BD is please? I love big dogs! Smile

Hi all

Lovely to read all the updates. Glad to see you are all getting on including dogs Squirrels Do the boys know you're dating?

Willow I think you just need to sit there if that's what you feel like - it's your holiday too!

Oh no horse I hope you feel better. Happy birthday to DS1 and hope it's a winning football day for you all.

book that's the sort of thing I do too! Showed up for a meeting at school a week early once.

We've been to town, pulled my beet and got lots of leaves, but not very much in terms of beet Grin wrapped some presents, and done the last few thank you cards... got a party to go to yet and I just want to hibernate tired and hormonal

Boiled a ham and roasted a chicken yesterday so not doing cooking over the weekend.

Take care all x
