Another great bargain Book, should have looked when we were in the supermarket hunting pjs Grin.

48 lengths!!!!! I would have jelly legs after 2! I am rubbish at swimming no stamina at all and my knackered shoulders complain too loudly Grin But I do like ploutering around in water though. Just doing my own thing.

Need to get tea started I suppose. Going to go through freezer and sort out whats what to try to use up some of the stuff. I think I still have sloes in there! Need to make some jelly ha ha. Get it run down a bit before hols and moving.

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/06/2018 21:42

Great stuff Squirrel and a good bargain book What's the update on the car if any??

Have you any more football on Horse or is the season done now?

I've done quite a lot of crochet on one square. Just one more round and then all the peskies (threads) to sort.

Currently at work till 9.30am tomorrow. My clients son rang this afternoon. He popped in and spent an hour with us which was great. I get on well with all the children.
Tomorrow morning Wilf is travelling from Kent to Hampton Court to see friends perform tomorrow. I'm worrying!!

bookbook · 08/06/2018 23:25

Evening!
Just about to head for my bed .
No real news on car - awaiting a spare part that should have turned up this morning , and didn't ( this was the fingers crossed cheap part , to try before going for the expensive option) ah well.
Lovely square MrsJ - is that for the snugs? I have just finished a 12" -#7 of my blanket tonight - these are the plain ones that will intersperse with some patterned ones, so I can watch the TV at the same time Grin.
Going out for the day tomorrow with DD1 - lunch and a mooch around shops and market , looking forward to that .
Night everyone, sleep well!

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/06/2018 06:03

Morning. Hope you had a quiet night 84 and that Wilf will be OK after last time.

Yes, I'm doing some snugs squares for the next deadline and then I will carry on with my blanket squares.

Fingers crossed on the car book

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 08:34

Morning all.
Lovely square MrsJ
Hope you had a hood night 84.

Enjoy your mooch Book good way to spend the day if you can resist all the market stuff😉

Off swimming now. Get a read of my book while ds2 ploughs up and down the pool😀

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 13:17

Peace reigns! Have dropped ds1 off to have bbq and sleepover in tent at friends! Several teen boys? Don't envy parents😀

Not sure what am doing today but better do something i suppose😀

Horsemad · 09/06/2018 13:53

Just do nothing Willow!! Enjoy a bit of peace & quiet...

Lazy morning here, went to next village to get some foody bits & bumped into some people I haven't seen for years, so that was nice.

Making a spag bol for tomorrow & just general mooching round this afternoon. 😊

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 16:07

Ha ha thats exactly what i did Horse! Say down with cuppa and gell asleep for an hour! Opps.
Ds2 and i have had 'snacky' tea and niw having strawbs dipped in choc and cream😀 yummm.

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/06/2018 17:04

Hello

We survived Ikea and I've started another square - this one just plain blue so much faster going. Seeing as we had a hot lunch there, DH just made some croque monsieurs for our tea.

I'm feeling shattered. Your day sounds good Willow

Horse it's nice to see old faces unexpectedly.

Have a good evening all.

84CharingCrossRoad · 09/06/2018 17:10

Wilfs on his way home...

Horsemad · 09/06/2018 17:24

Mmmm, croque monsieur, yummy ☺️

Just realised I didn't answer your question about football, MrsJ. All finished locally - just waiting for the World Cup to start! Not sure how England will fare but am looking forward to it 🙂

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 18:28

Found my energy and have painted round windows/walls where wrecked when new Windows put in. Just got txt from work to ask if i can start at 11 every sunday! Omg 9 hrs straight every Sunday! Just think of the £, its not worth it just think of the £😲 Possibly wont be 11 tomorrow by time i get ds1 though😀

Chasingsquirrels · 09/06/2018 19:11

Ahhh where did my post go?? Charlie was digging in a bag of compost and I thought I'd pressed post before I went to stop him, sweep it up and vacuum the mess inside!

Willow sounds like you needed the nap - and I wouldn't have thought you should have to be painting the walls after the new windows.

book hope you had a lovely day with dd1.

cake good on DH making the croque's. I've just had jacket potato and cauliflower cheese and am just eating rather too many of the chocs the boys got for my birthday which I opened last night.

I'm sure Wilf will be okay 84 but it doesn't stop us worrying.

Charlie seems okay now after the food incident yesterday, although rather more excrement than I'd like to have to deal with!

Speaking of my adorable pup, I've noticed a smell earlier while sitting here - looked up and he was chewing on some cat poo he'd found in the garden 🤢

I met a friend this morning to walk our dogs, which we do every week. Went earlier than normal as I'd arranged to meet OLD guy at 11am.

We met at a midway-ish park and had an enjoyable couple of hours walking round, got slightly lost in the maze and had a drink & cake in the cafe.
He caught my hand early on and we held hands (so fucking teenage) most of the time.
I don't know if I've mentioned before that he's insisted on paying so when we were ordering in the cafe I said it's my turn, he protested and I said "well that gives you a problem if you want to see me again as I'm not comfortable with you paying all the time". He let me pay with aclarity.
When we were just finishing the drinks he asked what I was doing for the rest of the afternoon.
I'd seen the new Jurassic movie had just released and had looked at the times, so asked if he fancied that.
Drove there separately and I stopped to pick up an order from Argos (new mower) on the way so he was there before me and got the tickets.
Sat close in the film and held hands, and enjoyed the film - although ridiclous.
He asked if I wanted to do anything else afterwards, but I needed to get back because of Charlie really.
He walked me to my car and we had a brief hug and v short peck on the lips kiss - might have gone further but not in a busy car park in daylight.

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 19:49

Oh that sounds like a lovely day Squirrels. Sounds a gent😉 Love the fact you put him right re paying every time. (Although it is nice to be treated now and again)

Eughh Charlie and cat poo. I remember out dogs rolling in cow pats if we weren't quick enough yeuk.
Re the painting. Ll were suppised to get painters in to redo it all but never did and tbh the guy who put them in made a damm mess of it. Clear silicone round them filling in holes! But not giving them anything to complain about when we leave. Need to do patio doors surrounds but the area is full of cm stuff and gp cage just now.😀
Was planning to take kids to see the new jurassic film yesterday but after my week from hell i thought i would wait in case i fell asleep through it😀😀 love those films just hits my sense of fantasy and 'what if?'.

Considering doing some ironing as may not feel like it tomortow night.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/06/2018 19:55

Definately worth seeing willow, and very loud! Not a falling asleep film, although having said that I once fell asleep in a cinema to the opening credits of a bond film, and woke up to the closing ones. In my defence I was utterly jet lagged after flying to NZ and suggested a film as exH wanted to do something and knew I could go to sleep in the film!

Grr on the painting, but better safe than sorry wkth the deposit.

I should do some ironing too!

Horsemad · 09/06/2018 20:16

I fell asleep in the cinema watching Chariots of Fire! 😂

Chasingsquirrels · 09/06/2018 20:29

Horsemad · 09/06/2018 20:39

Glad you had a lovely day Chasing, OLD man sounds nice.

Just watching Trooping the Colour highlights, love the pomp & ceremony. I watch mainly for the horses 🙂

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 21:02

Ds1 not having a great time now everyone else drunk! He is going to try but i suspect he really wants to come home but doesnt want to admit it to drunk mates.

Ironing done. Been watching 'Superfoods' all latest scientific stuff on so called superfoods. Very interesting. Debunking some as nonsense but others have real potential in health and medicine. Its amazing how many 'things' scientists have found in foods that work on things in the body that are harmfull and people have been using them for centuries in local medical/food use without scientific input😀 lots of stuff in 3rd world that are amazing scientists with thier nutritional value and healthy properties.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/06/2018 21:39

So something (oh yes Charlie I am looking at you) seems to have learned how to open the gate - which we kept pushed to not fully shut. Guess what's changing now!

Haven't down the ironing. Have been for bread and milk. Might have an early night.

Eeek, what a naughty boy! Glad you enjoyed your day Squirrel He does sound rather lovely.

Willow that sounds tough for DS1. I can't stand drunks either...

I'm heading off soon - guessing DS will be up with the birds!

Ah yes, the world cup horse I'm currently being subjected to rugby after a programme on motorbikes Hmm

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 22:09

Picked up ds. Quite upset bless him. Was actually a birthday party for a relative of friend. Lots of drunk 'adults' too. Ds has bleeding toe from being hit with baseball bat!

I hate people sometimes, especially kids who take the p out of thier friends for not wanting to be forced to drink!

Willow2017 · 09/06/2018 22:11

Ha ha naughty Charlie 😀 he is learning new tricks.
