84CharingCrossRoad · 22/03/2018 20:50

Had the funeral today of one of my ladies... She was 95 so a good age but I will miss looking after her....

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/03/2018 20:54

Hello everyone

It's been a busy day, only just sat down with the laptop for the first time today.

(((hugs)) Squirrel and 84 and also for Juan - it was the anniversary of Mark's funeral today too. She seems OK as can be and better than the run up to the 1 year mark.

I'm glad you enjoyed the bridge - 16 sounds like a nice group.

Was the ice cream good book? I had some rocky road.

Hope everyone else doing OK. Thank goodness it's Friday - though next week is sooooo busy that I'm hyperventilating just looking at the calendar!

Horsemad · 22/03/2018 21:10

Flowers chasing

Willow2017 · 22/03/2018 21:32

Flowers and hugs for Squirrels 84 and Juan.

Work busy but a good laugh too. Everyone putting the world to rights😀

Bridge club sounds like its going to be good fun.

Book busy as usual. Ice cream sounds delish.

mrsj next week busy for me too..but kids finish up for Easter and am hopefully off 1st week (will prob get extra shifts the next week due to hols so will be even more knackered than i am now 😀 ) but hopefully a week of lying in a bit longer in mornings. Cant wait. No more school morning stress😀😀

Willow2017 · 22/03/2018 21:34

P.s. i was amazingly restrained and did not buy orange daime bars when shopping this morning. damm

Chasingsquirrels · 23/03/2018 07:03

Ds1 was telling me off last night for keeping falling asleep on the sofa and I explained part of it was not wanting to go to bed at 10pm when I might like to because I don't want to shut Charlie up for hours only to spent 2 hours with him in the morning then leave him when I go to work.
Ds1 said he'd stay up with Charlie for a bit (Long boring conversation about that) so last night I came to bed at 10pm when ds2 went.

I still haven't heard Charlie this morning (and I've been awake since 5.30am - roll on the clock change). I'm wondering if ds1 fell asleep on the sofa and is still there ...

7am, better get up and see

Chasingsquirrels · 23/03/2018 16:05

New hen house came this morning so I've been protective staining all the pieces before I put it together, back is aching now. I've done 2.5 coats so I'll finish the 3rd coat, make it then give the outside another coat.

Used the box it came in the box off the conservatory so that Charlie couldn't come and "help" and painted in there, so it's been drying pretty quickly as it's been a sunny day.

Off to drop ds1 at his girlfriend's and pick up ds2 from games club, then a quick tea for him (he's made Bolognese in cooking today so just need to do some pasta to go with it) hen out again to drop him at judo.
Over to John's mum's to see SIL (who is staying there to look after her atm) and BIL for a hour or so then home for when ds2 gets dropped back from judo. Ds1 staying with a friend then we are all (friend is son of one of my friends) meeting for a dog walk in the morning.

Hope everyone is well.

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/03/2018 18:39

Sending you a hug Squirrel that's a busy day! How is MIL now?

Been busy here, just winding down with stories for small and then I guess same for big too...

Hope everyone has had a good Friday!

84CharingCrossRoad · 23/03/2018 19:24

Forgot to tell you the funny story from last week.
Wilf has my Mum and also an adopted Grandma Edith who lives over the road.
Last Thursday I went over so Grandma and I could Facetime with Wilf.
He decided to bring Grandma into the 21st century so kept putting filter faces up and then wanted me to do the same with Grandma. We did several and finished off turning her into a werewolf.... She laughed so much and called her son in... "Digger dear they've turned me into a werewolf!" She kept hoo hooing with laughter!!
I only hope Wilf didn't go into college and tell everyone he had turned her into a werewolf!!! Grin

Willow2017 · 23/03/2018 20:05

Evening all.
Gosh Squirrels very busy day.
Havent done a lot today very lazy. Actually fell asleep after took kids to school and had brekkie about half 9 and woke up at 11!!! If thats what working 2 consecutive shifts does for me i am dreading busy season and doing extra shifts 😁
Working couple of hours cm pm. Been organising kids for washing being actually brought down etc and we had chinese for tea. Not as good as usual for some reason disapointing.

Swimming tomorrow and got bits to get in town including compost and plants for pots. If weather stays good i have a date with ds2. Going for walk along sea front with a poke of chips😀

Horsemad · 23/03/2018 20:27

Thank God it's Friday, it's so busy at work at the moment, I don't know if I'm on my head or my heels! Am really looking forward to Easter for a break...

DH has the lurgy and I think I'm getting it too - sore throat, annoying cough.

Chasing, sounds like a busy day for you, what time did Charlie stir? Smile

Willow, a walk along the sea front followed by chips sounds fab - watch out for the gulls though, vandals they are!

What have you got on next week's calendar MrsJ, when do the DC break up? Am out of touch with school hols now mine have left (still haven't got used to DS2 not being at the school bus stop when I drive home!).

SelenaValentina · 23/03/2018 20:57

Can't do any highlighting as on phone and it doesn't like it! Won't let me check back and forth who's posted what either, so sorry I'm not commenting much.

Chasing - a year and for Juan too. Where's the time going?

Arrived safely at Center Parcs and they even let us in 2 hours early. Doing Hydrobikes at 9 am so glad did bring alarm! Heard a lot about it so be interesting to try.

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/03/2018 21:02

Hi

LOL 84 she sounds like a good sport!

Horse They finish 1pm on Thursday and have 2 weeks off. I'm not working the first week, so we'll be home for Easter weekend itself, a day trip or two and possibly visiting MIL for the weekend after...my suggestion Shock

Hope it calms down Horse Enjoy the weekend break and the count down to Easter.

willow that sounds good - apart from the below average meal. We're having fish and chips in London tomorrow - if all goes to plan. Train, aquarium and lunch.

Night night!

Willow2017 · 23/03/2018 22:37

84 sounds like a fun time had by all.

Horse hope the bug isnt lasting and work improves. Pamper yourself over the weekend.

Selena 9am! Thats too early for first day of the hols😀 have fun i presume thats those big bikes on water? Sounds like they need a lot of peddling.

mrsj enjoy your day out tomorrow. Hope weather behaves for you.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/03/2018 06:30

Enjoy Selena

bookbook · 24/03/2018 09:23

Morning all!
Its looking good today , so off to the allotment for an hour.
Easter holidays have started here

Enjoy CP Selena I am imagining you sat elegantly next to the pool under the dome, with a drink to hand ( and Daim bars !)
Chasing - a posh new henhouse - I take it the chickens will love it? sound like you were very busy :)
MrsJ - you ^suggested* a trip to your MIL's ? you are a saint!
Willow - rest up and enjoy the not rushing about, and the chips!
Horse are you ever not busy? Hope the bug doesn't get hold
84 - grandma ( and Wilf!) sound like fun
Right need to go and get sorted . The shovelling manure is to counteract sitting and crocheting this afternoon Grin

SelenaValentina · 24/03/2018 13:06

Hydrobikes really good. Qyite different 'technique' to normal spinning.

Yes, book, spot on afterwards. Coffee and people watch. Pool then got ridiculously busy so did one trip down Wild Water Rapids then back to villa. Huge goose on patio hoovering up food we put out.

Last night we had a swan!

Have a great day everyone.

Willow2017 · 24/03/2018 13:35

Afternoon all.
Having a cuppa and biccy before i drag myself out to do the pots. Ds2 and i struggled with big bags of compost at Morrison's and several lots of plants so theres no escaping it😀 Book putting me to shame as usual.

Did shopping and treated myself to a caramelatte as i had a freebie😀 (course ds2 had some off the top😀)

Guess i was wrong on the bike thing then Selena😶 enjoy the peace and quiet of your villa (unless the goose starts honking😁)

Sunny here didnt even have a coat on!!!

84CharingCrossRoad · 24/03/2018 20:30

Poor Wilf. Bloody South East Trains messed him about this morning. They couldn't tell us where the rail replacement bus was going from so I ended paying £21 for a taxi to take him to Herne Bay!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/03/2018 20:33

Hello

Just getting online after a busy day. We went to the aquarium and then ate fish and chips for lunch Grin The hour on the train each way and the walking/standing around is always a killer though.

Oooh Selena that sounds interesting as I really hate doing anything that makes me sweaty so water based exercise is probably a good idea as is chocolate

book I know, but DH said he's realised that his mum is getting old (72) and that we should probably do more travelling. Plus I will be DIL of the year Halo

Gosh Willow no coat!? Did you do the gardening? I have a cracked pot out front from the snow and still haven't replanted/sorted it! Blush

Willow2017 · 25/03/2018 09:08

Morning all.
Sun shining woke me up (and probably worrying about time not changing on phone for alarms!) So been awake ages.
Yes Mrsj ds2 and i did the pots but ran out of plants so need to get a few more for one pot. Did a bit of tidying up in the big pots my hostas are in scraping out all the moss and weeds too. Hope you arent too tired after your trip sounds a good day out though.

Didnt go for walk with ds2 as he decided to go raking up the field instead so i chilled instead.

84 thats a pain you would think they could get their act together.

Need to move after my cuppa and get shower and do ironing. Work at 12 😐

Have a good day ladies.

bookbook · 25/03/2018 09:24

Morning all!
Gorgeous sunshine here :)
84 - is it worth complaining on Wilf's behalf - it doesn't sound in the least fair .
MrsJ - sounds a full on , but lovely day
Selena - idyllic :)
Willow - hope work goes easily for you , shame about the (non) walk - its always the way .
I haven't done much in the actual garden - its been too wet, and we are due a bit more cold yet , so hanging off a bit .
Yesterday I was due to shovel manure . It didn't happen , because I realised I had a stint in our horticultural shop - I'd forgotten to put on a reminder for it Blush . Luckily I was there in time . It must be spring - I was rushed off my feet for the whole 2 hours :)
So - the manure is todays job instead
Have a lovely day everyone !

Beautiful day here ☺️ Two loads of washing pegged out and a third in the machine.

Think we may do a walk this morning if DH feels up to it - he is still a bit grotty but I haven't succumbed YET!

DS2 was out last night and stayed over so he'll be pitching up soon.

Hope work ok for you Willow and hope the shovelling isn't too arduous book! 😉

84CharingCrossRoad · 25/03/2018 11:22

@bookbook I complained before and after. I have got the taxi company to email me the receipt which I will be sending to South East Trains on Monday!!!
Have been baking this morning. I can't make pastry. It comes out like playdough so Mum makes it. I have made a. Sausage and Cheese Lattice Pie and some Ice Cube Mini Apple Pies....
