No pain at the moment. We have the builders from next door doing buildery things outside. They are cutting our hedge back. Taking our front grass away and putting tarmac down and giving us a free dropped kerb. I'm delighted about the tarmac as it means I haven't got to hoik the lawnmower over the gravel to cut it.
Mum's car is currently on next doors drive till Friday or Saturday. Thankfully we have wonderful neighbours.....Smile

Willow2017 · 20/03/2018 17:00

Ooh a holiday 84 how nice, where are you going?

Cake thats a pain isnt it, just when they start to settle they have a long break and you start all over again. I had a 2 yr old who screamed the place down for weeks every time mum left. She couldnt leave them with anyone except grannies not even friends who had known them since birth he just went into a complete rage whenever she left him. It was funny because after they had tantrumed for 15 minutes they were fine, no problem at all, lovely kid. I had to go to drs with one of my kids when I had them and they kicked off there. We spent 10 minutes in the hallway while he tantrumed, I knew trying to placate him made him worse and ignoring him was the only solution (standing beside him) and the nurse came through to see if he was ok and gave me a glare as if to say "Pick him up you heartless bitch" but picking him up ended up with me being battered and kicked but I dont think she believed me! The life of a cm eh? Talking of which I went through my actual earnings and professional outgoings for 6 months today and its really not worth my while to keep going with this one kid... but the small tiny amount it brings in is better than nothing I suppose. Really swithering as its not guarenteed if parents are working from home as its adhoc contract, it would really put them on the spot if I stopped too. Decisions decisions.

Wrapped ds2's birthday pressents and put in loft, more washing out and chilled in front of tv Smile

Sent ex a txt as his money transfer still not working and checking back have only had half the pittance the money I should have had in past year so far. Asked him to increase it to make up some of the short fall pigs might fly .

Selena ds2 bought a watch off a friend who had 2 for £10 and I think its got steps counting on it... might borrow it for work but I doubt I will reach 7 miles! You must be knackered by the end of a shift! He went up the street for oven chips and a pud for tea, having chicken gougons, he got frozen raspberry pavlova, there is about half an inch between the pavlova and the casing! No matter I am sure it will be lovely but the size of it will be just enough for 3 adult portions I think!

Willow2017 · 20/03/2018 17:01

I should say that I had the kid start at around 14 months, he wasnt still doing it at 2 when he left!

Willow2017 · 20/03/2018 17:03

Selena shhhhh stop mentioning daime bars, I love them and found the orange ones....trying not to buy them when I go into Home Bargains [girn]

84CharingCrossRoad · 20/03/2018 17:49

Not going on holiday....????

SelenaValentina · 20/03/2018 17:51

DS, DIL and I are off to Sherwood Forest CP - original and possibly the best? Only other one I've been to is Whinfell (South Lakes), which is OK but was taken over by CP so not their original concept and imo it shows.

About 10 years since last visit so be interesting how much it's expanded. (I wonder if it's still the same re people? Groups of friends sharing to cut the high accommodation cost, all happy together the first day then hear them moaning about each other/not speaking by the end. And we all arrive with lovely hair and leave with rats' tails Grin. Actually, read 'I' for 'we all'!).

Willow2017 · 20/03/2018 18:49

Sorry 84 meant Selena

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/03/2018 21:09

Hey just a quick pop in. I've started 3 squares off - once I've got the start done, I can mindlessly get on with it.

I really hope the forecasters are wrong! Had enough of cold now.

Glad you're ok for now 84, get packing Selena I loooovr people watching Grin

Rocket up your ex's bum willow kids survive on thin air don't they? Yes, each child needs dealing with in their own way. I'm sure we'll be fine it was my decision to have time off so can't blame anyone

waves to squirrels and horse - mind blank now!

bookbook · 20/03/2018 22:41

Evening!
Just put my crochet down

Been a busy day in the end, and then the AGM this evening for one of the societies I help .
84 sounds like that may well save a lot of hassle - nothing worse than having to drag lawnmowers!
Selena - My DD has been to CP a few times - they really enjoy it
I agree Willow - most unfair to mention Daim bars ( I do have one in the cupboard.....)and even more unfair of your ex to be so tight fisted - children get more expensive, not less
MrsJ - 3 squares on the go - truly falling into crochet addiction there :) And we all need time off , so enjoy
Sleep well everyone

hello!
quick pop in - have been out at my craft club all morning, just about to have a quick lunch and then off straight out to pop to the shops before picking up DGS
Chasing - I really fancy learning bridge - we play cards as a family, have done for years, so that sounds interesting
Hope everyone is okay x

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/03/2018 12:47

Hi, so far so good. Baby even slept for an hour!

Lovely sunshine, but wind still cold.

Take care all of you x

Horsemad · 21/03/2018 13:48

Day off today - doing housework Sad Cat has been sick 3 times

Chasingsquirrels · 21/03/2018 17:42

Sounds like another busy day book, hopefully a nice afternoon with dgs.

Sounds like you have cracked it with the baby cake.

Pah to housework horse.

Work here then updated Scouts accounts this afternoon.
Ds2 took Charlie for a walk and we've just been to the vet to get him weighed and get some flea treatment (preventative).
Ds1 at Beavers (he is a Young Leader) and Ds2 and I about to do pizza for tea.

We play cards as a family as well book, but apart from a little bit in sixth form I've never played Bridge and don't remember any of the rules. The man on the stand was very keen on welcoming new players, beginners etc so hopefully it will be okay. Will report back later!

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/03/2018 18:24

Hmm pizza! Hope the bridge goes OK Squirrel Is that tonight? We also used to play cards, but not bridge either.

Hope that you're completely over your cold now book I know that I sound like a proper crochet-er now, but I need help starting off, so sitting with Bella and starting them all means I don't need to look back at it again then Grin Blush

Bah horse doesn't sound like a "day off" - it sounds like my days off too!

Hope that the extra long shift was bearable today Willow

Have you done any packing Selena?

SelenaValentina · 21/03/2018 19:57

Hi Everyone!

Yes, MrsJ, done most, but forgotten alarm clock, chargers - and no doubt other essentials. I learnt to crochet in Germany and was bit taken aback when watching someone here as seemed different, especially the 'casting on' - the thread was twined round different fingers and in different directions. Continental knitting always seems easier too - and not as much clacking of needles.
Hope bridge goes well, squirrel. I pay monthly at the vet, think now organised by Denplan Confused, and it covers flea/worming treatment every 3 months, claws clipped, stroking, weighing, general checks, cooing and admiring. They accept the praise as their right of course!
Ugh, Horse, cat sick not the best - hairballs or greed?
Willow, hope you've survived (and finding something better). Hope ex has got his act together - and gracefully.
84, hope buildery things going well.

Nice day here until about 5, then wet stuff dropped out of the sky, not seen for at least a week. Patio going well, should be finished middle of next week barring monsoons. I need to get more D--m bars tomorrow, as see I've only packed one pack of 3 - and 3 of us.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/03/2018 20:20

You won't need an alarm clock on holiday - surely Grin

Willow2017 · 21/03/2018 20:54

Evening all.
Shift ok but trouble brewing someone p'd off someone else coming on thurs shift to help out as pot kid not good enough.😀 ho hum. Can be bothered with it all.

Sunny am put fleece blanket out on line cue rain... very warm pm wish weather would make up its mind.

Everyone very busy as usual. Glad baby slept mrsj. Hope bridge is going well Squirrels.
Horse cat sick yeuk i remember that. Hope is over now.

Chasingsquirrels · 21/03/2018 21:33

REALLY enjoyed Bridge, definitely going again Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 21/03/2018 21:42

We had pizza tonight too.

Charlie is on a monthly plan at the vets too Selena, covers puppy injections , microchipping (although he was already done), worming & flea treatment and nail clipping plus 20% off any vet fees - so going to get him "done" towards the end of the 12 months then cancel it as I don't think it will be worthwhile after the 1st year.
You definitely need more of the D-bars.

Work politics are just the pits willow, best to keep out of it as much as you can and just do your job.

Willow2017 · 21/03/2018 22:32

Squirrels i just get on with work. If i see something needing done i do it. Others have noticed i seem to do a lot more than some others on a shift so thats a bonus. I will never be good enough for the boss but dont care any more. I just agree with everyone unless i have something specific to add😀

Horsemad · 21/03/2018 22:40

Thought of you earlier Selena - saw Daim bar cookies in Asda! Grin

Glad you enjoyed the Bridge Night chasing, were there many people there?

No more cat sick fortunately. She's always had Whiskas but has suddenly started chucking up after eating it. I bought some Encore (OMG, the price of that stuff!!) and she wasn't sick with that but it isn't a complete cat food, so gave her a small amount of Whiskas again and she threw up.

I have bought a few different types of cat food to see if she's sick on any of them. She is very furry also, so it might be a hairball.
The joys of pet ownership eh?!

Willow2017 · 21/03/2018 22:45

I will never lose weight if you lot keep mentioning daime bars 😠😠😠😠 adds to shopping list for tomorrow

Btw have you tried the new cadbury peanut/caramel bar? Soooo good even with the not so great cadbury choc these days. (🎶🎶🎶sidles off whistling innocently😉)

Aww hope cat is ok Horse.

bookbook · 22/03/2018 16:36

hello all!
What a glorious day
been a bit busy today - allotment all morning , then shops, then sowing stuff in the greenhouse
I have just made some berry ice cream too - though it does seem to have gone really hard around the edges, of the tub ( in the maker) so DH is gallantly forcing himself to scrape it off a bit at a time and taste test . But I have 2 nice loads in the freezer :)
Willow - hope the day goes quickly at work
Horse - cleaning on a day off? and poorly cat too, what a day
Chasing - great you like the bridge , sounds like you have found your 'thing' with luck :)
Selena when do you go ( and yes - who needs an alarm clock on holiday! ) enjoy , and forget about the hair
MrsJ and 84 - hope all is well
ooh, DH has just brought a small amount of ice cream in a bowl Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 22/03/2018 17:06

Willow I don't think it's the talk of D-bars that has any impact on your weight Grin.

Sounds like a good day book and more yummy ice cream.
Yeah hopefully the bridge will become one of "my things", there were 18 there yesterday but I think generally it's up to 16 as they had to get an extra table out.

Lots of messages from people today (it's a year) and a friends-couple of John's sent flowers and my mum popped over this afternoon unannounced with some as well. But actually I'm okay.

bookbook · 22/03/2018 18:28

Chasing - so sorry, had not realised it was a year . Onward and upward to the future (hugs) , good to hear you are okay
