MrsJonesAndMe · 18/03/2018 20:25

That means a lot Squirrel I've just done my 1st ever beanie hat for Chernobyl hugs and I've done 6 squares...bearing in mind that I got my hook on 25/12 I'm quite pleased with that.

Snowing again here Angry Come on spring!

Sleep well all I'm eating a bag of mini eggs

Willow2017 · 18/03/2018 21:01

Evening all.
Sounds luke good days all round except 84 who had to work too.
Work not too bad got an unternalised "ha ha you screwed up there you thought it was me" moment when boss thought they could pull me up on something that was actually fine and it was one of the others who has been doing it for years and they had to bluff thier way out of it😂😂😂

Very cold and snow freezing a bit so slippy underfoot. Gritters out but roads are still pretty clear.

All those roast dinners and puds sound lovely i am jealous 😀

Squirrels i havent a clue about bridge but it sounds like its worth a try as you like cards. They sound very welcoming.

Book hope you and dh are feeling better and were waited on hand and foot by visitors.

84
Gonna have a look at that recipe sounds yum.

bookbook · 18/03/2018 21:17

Evening all
sounds like everyone has a good day , read it all but not quite taking it all in tonight - I'm tired , but happy. I always feel better for not slobbing around in truth and enjoy feeding people :)
I have just acquired an ice cream maker, so I made a first batch today to go with brownies and berries - very easy , and it went down very well . I wanted one to make ice cream with some of my soft fruit , of which I have rather a lot :)
I have an easy day tomorrow - not picking up DGS until later on in the week .
MrsJ - you deserve to be pleased about your crochet :)
Sleep well all

Sounds like a good day for everyone.
My ice cream maker, book, sits in the cupboard usually as I just constantly eat my results Grin.
squirrels, I do wish I liked playing cards - our local bridge club is full of fanatics, who organise courses then rope you in so tightly you have to check whether you dare take a holiday. Probably do a lot better if they were laid back, but my 'skill' still wouldn't be acceptable.
Willow, your boss sounds like a demented nitpicker.
MrsJ, well done you with the crocheting.
84, my son's a Chelsea fan!
Horse, sounds good - no calories?

Vicious wind again today, but stayed fine. Ordered a shelf unit for DVD player etc from Argos, pick up tomorrow - then wait for some kind soul to put it together. I got 2 cardboard 'houses' for the cats yesterday, spent half an hour building the first one, it immediately fell apart. DIL arrived, had them both up and running in 5 minutes. Blush, ah well.

Willow2017 · 18/03/2018 22:08

Selena
Ha ha you hit the nail on tbe head there but its mainly for my benefit. Apparently the tables were not wiped properly yestetday (they decided this morning!) I know who doesnt do it properly and so does everyone else and its not me! But funilly enough i heard that 2nd hand today they must have forgotten to mention it to me as they were busy.
Just job hunting and letting it all flow over me.

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/03/2018 07:03

Morning! Looking forward to cleaning the snow off the car Hmm

Good luck Willow in finding something else.

It would be lethal to have an ice cream maker!

bookbook · 19/03/2018 10:13

Morning all!
Lovely and sunny here , but a bitter wind blowing.
Selena - I am truly dreadful with putting stuff together - I can sew/embroider/knit/crochet , but give me screws and bolts - I can do it, but so slowly - all fingers and thumbs :)
Willow - yep I would definitely up the job hunt - I hope something more suited turns up for you soon.
MrsJ - snow is easy, its when its iced on that's the problem!
Feeling much more 'me' this morning - so have 2 loads of washing hung out -its blowing really well! , and the third in the washer , tidied up everything ,-( how does one small box of lego get everywhere ? ) Just going to have 10 minutes sit down as I am trying to get a knitted cowl finished for my DD2, before I jump into heavy duty crochet this afternoon.
Ice cream maker - well, I personally don't eat much ice cream, but it just did enough yesterday for 1 scoop each for everyone ( 8 of us) , so its just a good amount. I will be making some more tomorrow with the left over berry compote , but I need to get some more cream , and the tub has to have been in the freezer for 24 hours, so there is a limit to how much I can make at anyone time!
Have a good day everyone !

Glad to hear you are feeling better book, and smiling at the Lego getting everywhere - we have now got Charlie raiding the Lego box and scattering it around!

We have an ice cream maker (wedding present from 1st wedding 20 years ago) but I've only used it a handful of times.

Argh can't remember what everyone said now.

Lovely and bright but very cold here, took Charlie for a walk 1st thing and just about to take him out now.

Willow2017 · 19/03/2018 15:51

Afternoon all.
Berry ice cream sounds yum Book. Wouldn't last ling here😀

Dithery morning but got my act together and went food shopping and some bits in boots (how much?😀) had my coffee and read.
Otherwise housework and now waiting for kids from school.

Bitter cold here too.

Ds1's drama night is camcelled tonight so quiet pm.

SelenaValentina · 19/03/2018 16:18

Well, I have surpassed myself and I do trust you are all (considering my stated lack of DIY skills) going to be impressed ShockShock.

I have put together the Argos unit. Myself. Only the cats to help. Halo Halo Halo.

Do I deserve some of book's ice cream? Had to sit down with a Daim bar to recover from the shock of achievement. Grin (I am not going to admit that it only involved putting legs through the holes and screwing them up, as it is a work of art.)

Willow2017 · 19/03/2018 16:40

Ha ha well done Selena some of those things are just made to drive you crazy. 🍨🍫

Tea on the go and have done half of packed lunches for tomorrow so i have surpassed myself too 😀 Haggis neeps and tatties (and cauli and carrots) tonight.

84CharingCrossRoad · 19/03/2018 16:45

Not having friends round now for various reasons.
Had to take Mums dog Tyler to vets this morning. Blood blister in the ear...
Bumble going tomorrow for boosters and kennel cough...

Chasingsquirrels · 19/03/2018 17:59

That's a shame 84, hope you are okay.

Well done Selena 👍

I didn't know people actually ate haggis Willow!

Willow2017 · 19/03/2018 19:23

Squirrels how very dare you! It's the food of the gods😀 am stuffed full and kids hoovered up the last few leftovers😀

84 thats a shame hope they can rearrange. Hope pets are ok pdq.

Horsemad · 19/03/2018 19:28

Ooh, I've had haggis - a long time ago mind, but it was quite tasty as I recall. Smile

Been to work today and supposed to be doing housework this evening but am procrastinating.

Glad to hear you are feeling better book.

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/03/2018 20:31

Hello

Hope you all survived the Monday intact.

Sorry to hear your meal has been cancelled. Hope you're OK 84

I'm not a offal fan in any way shape or form. Has nothing but bad smells and associations for me!

Glad to hear you're better book I'm going to start Care hugs this week.

I love ice cream, but don't really eat it at home.

Selena you should give yourself a big pat on the back as you have done so much! I'm DIY useless!

Horse I'm sure the cleaning can wait!

84CharingCrossRoad · 20/03/2018 10:43

We survived a trip to the vets for Bumble's boosters and kennel cough up the nose!

Still supporting after DH died ( Juan et al)
bookbook · 20/03/2018 10:52

Morning all!
he looks properly like - where's my treat? 84 :)
Sunny and a bit cloudy here.
Just sat down with a cup of coffee , not lots of necessary things to do, so enjoyed finishing off some knitting after cleaning the kitchen.
Off to the market shortly , a trip to pick some veg too . I need to go and check everything in the greenhouse - to get ready to start sowing stuff now the cold spell is ( hopefully!) over .

Have a good day everyone

He had a lovely fish treat when we got home!!!

Willow2017 · 20/03/2018 11:10

Morning all
Changes in plans am swapping shift for colleage so off today and working longer tomorrow.
Housework so far all morning, so exciting. Am going to get a cuppa and a sit down to watch an episode of my mothers day present to myself 😀
Sun shining washing out. Noticed bird feeders need filling up already!

Glad Bumble survived. I had dogs when i was a bit younger, one a beautiful gsd. She was big and soppy and whenever we went to the vet she would try and hide under the chairs bless her it wasnt easy but she would get right under them😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/03/2018 12:59

Hello, made it to lunch time in tact, which is always a bonus Grin

The little one hasn't been teary at all today, so guessing that's just in time for us to have 10 days off over Easter Hmm

Not much to report here.

Bless him, Bumble looks like he survived the trauma. How are you feeling 84 do kidney stone pain come and go? Thankfully I have no experience.

Sounds like another good day book We also need to sort out a bit of planting for our raise bed. I really hope we've got through the bad weather now!

Feet up Willow because tomorrow will be round soon enough to bring work fun Shock

Hope everyone else OK, will check in tonight x

SelenaValentina · 20/03/2018 15:26

Hope all well with everyone. Brave boy, Bumble. Another lovely day here and bit warmer too. Aren't they threatening another cold snap over Easter, just to cheer us up.

Done Path Lab Run - non stop, so 7 miles today, a record for me, then lunch with friend.

Now back home and feet up (and Daim Bar(s)) I think? I should be packing for Center Parcs on Friday but ......

Chasingsquirrels · 20/03/2018 15:30

Hope you are having a good day Willow, nice to get the unexpected bonus - hope tomorrow isn't too long a day.

Lovely that the baby is settling cake but a pain that there is a big break coming up which might unsettle her again.

Sounds like you are back on form book.

Hope no after effects from the jabs 84, Charlie had a slightly dodgy tummy after his puppy one but I can't remember if our adult dogs used to.

Chasingsquirrels · 20/03/2018 15:32

Oh which Centre Parc are you off to Selena
