Ooh i take that back about the wind...its whistling round house again 😁😁 snow forecast for weekend. Noooo i am working both days.

bookbook · 16/03/2018 18:37

Evening all
cold here , funny colour sky too.
Willow - sounds like the TKD people are being helpful there - wonder if they know that being flexible will mean he comes back round to it in time . Hope so. You deserve the sit down after all that
I am in the very lucky position of having a personal vacuum cleaner person -( DH :) ) . I don't have much to do with it, and he is great at mending them too - the DD's are always dragging theirs here to be sorted !
Selena sounds like its all going well
84 -phew ! Its such a stress chasing after these things
MrsJ - a lovely hour stress free - joy
Not done much in truth today- knitted and crocheted, and popped to the shops to get a few bits .
Another early night I think too

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/03/2018 20:34

Well that sounds like a good day as far as I'm concerned book

Selena no, not through choice at all! DS woke up and DD also thanks to a nightmare.

84 Is this Wilf forgetting stuff? DD is driving me insane, but she's only 11, so guess I can let her off the hook a bit then! How are you feeling now?

Snow forecast here too! Stay safe all x

Horsemad · 16/03/2018 20:41

Just hoping snow doesn't stop DS's footy tomorrow ☺️

Had very busy day at work, so takeaway and a fair bit of wine for tea 😉

Feeling nicely relaxed now, hope all have a great weekend.

book, wrap up and rest!

Willow, sometimes a break is good, your DS may well return to TKD.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/03/2018 07:07

Morning all.

A bit more civilised start of 6:30 Hmm Meant to be going up to Legoland, but not sure how much fun that's going to be in the cold or if rides will even be open?

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Horse that sounds ideal!

bookbook · 17/03/2018 08:05

Morning all
Howling wind and driving snow here, -1º
Horse - hope the snow isn't too bad for you - nothing quite like a nice relaxing evening after a heavy week
MrsJ -mmm Lego land today? Good Luck with that ...
Just going to stay indoors I think - still a bit full of head cold, but not horrid :)
Have a good day everyone !

OP posts:
Chasingsquirrels · 17/03/2018 08:10

Horrid here too, but just a covering of snow on roofs etc nothing on the ground.

Willow2017 · 17/03/2018 08:22

Morning all.
Hail showers last night and this morning but not much thankfully. Fingers crossed it doesnt get worse. Wind still fierce though.

I would be giving legoland a miss today if its as cold as it is here mrsj.

Book staying indoors sounds like a plan. Have a relaxing day although i am not convinced you can actuall 'do' relaxing at home😀

Hope weather isnt to bad for everyone else.

Chasingsquirrels · 17/03/2018 09:05

Charlie new collar came in the post (I just got him a v lightweight nylon one from Poundland when he was tiny as he needed something but not an adult one, and it snapped last week when he pulled on the lead) and he doesn't like it.
He is prancing around the room trying to bite it - which he obviously can't cos it's round his neck. It's a leather one so less flexible than his old one and probably a bit heavier.
I've just taken his ID tag off it because that seems to be irritating him most and I'll put it back on when he settled down to the collar.
Quite surprised me as he wasn't bothered by the 1st one at all, nor the chain one I've been using this week (relic from our last dog) while waiting for the new one.

Willow2017 · 17/03/2018 09:41

Aww he will get used to it (hopefully soon) bless him.
Bit of snow now but not much fingers crossed as off to work. Wish me luck😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/03/2018 14:37

Good luck Willow

We are back home. We had a great time and did the things that were open, had a hot choc and a muffin and came home again. Was very cold though! Not busy either Grin

Hope Charlie settles down Squirrel

How are all the poorly ones? book 84 et al?

Hope footie is going ahead horse

Horsemad · 17/03/2018 16:15

Match started (much to my surprise, as we were having heavy snow flurries) but abandoned 15 mins into 2nd half, so we will have to play again another time.

Absolutely freezing here and the wind is awful.
Luckily I was sat in the clubhouse with a hot chocolate! 😂

Willow2017 · 17/03/2018 18:02

Lots of snow and hail off and on all day but not lying. Bitter cold though even when sun shining. -1°
Work fine but why do people rock up just before closing and sit there over a coffee till exactly closing time while we are all furiously cleaning and hoovering? Even worse expect a cooked meal! And why when there are 10 other clean empty tables do you come and sit at the one you are currently clearing and need to come back and wash down while they pull out chairs put their purses and phones etc on the booming dirty table???? People are a pia sometimes 🤔

Horse lucky you having a clubhouse to be in. When ds2 did footie when much younger i hated watching matches freezing to death. I was glad when he gave it up after one particularly bad day of freezing wind and constant rain and he was shaking with cold and we came home early. Stupid idea to have small kids footie in winter.

Glad you enjoyed legoland despite the weather mrsj at least you didnt have to queue for ages😀

Straight into the wine but need to make tea now.

SelenaValentina · 17/03/2018 19:42

Have to say that it's been very cold but mostly bright sun here. Few snow flurries but that's it, so far at least. Freezing easterly wind - so bad, I wore my fleece hat (I hate hats, remind me of school).

Oh willow, you'd think people would have more sense - perhaps trying to keep warm? Clearly can't take the hint.
MrsJ, sounds good with no queues.
Expect Charlie will eventually settle (or else chew it to uselessness!), squirrels.
book, hope you're feeling better.
Horse, clubhouse - what a luxury. I too have stood and frozen or been blown away.
84, hope you can find a solution.

DIL's (well, not legally, oh I wish they'd get their act together) father came and kindly put TV on a cantilever bracket so it now folds out and then back flat to wall. Needless to say, the TV was wrong at the back somehow, so lots of modifications needed - nothing is ever straightforward in this house somehow. Anyway, now have bit more space and just need to find a unit to hold the dvd etc whilst hiding the myriad of cables. One is really long, hanging out the wall, not connected but 'cannot be chapped off'. Confused I've not put him totally off as he's going to put an outside tap on the back wall (so I can hose down the new patio, they all seem to think Hmm!).

Keep warm and well.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/03/2018 21:13

I hate hats too!

Hope you've all had a good evening, see you all tomorrow x

bookbook · 18/03/2018 10:11

Morning all
still full of cold , DH not too good either.
DD and DGS are arriving early after lunch , then everyone else plus an extra guest for tea , so need to get sorted , even though feeling a bit bleurgh.
Onward and upward ..
Have a good day everyone

Willow2017 · 18/03/2018 10:50

Morning all.
Book hope everyone will muck in and help later.

Still -1° here and still snowing/hail. Its lying in most places and drifting already.

Work at 12 oh joy. Taken 'calms' and put 2 in my bag. Will see if they are strong enough😀😀😀

Have a good day all. Hope weather improves for everyone.

84CharingCrossRoad · 18/03/2018 12:12

Hello all. Very cold here.! Working this morning and tonight too. Mum is hoping to go to see my niece this week so have got friends coming round on Wednesday night for dinner. I'm doing Spag Bol and Jaffa Choc Puddle Pudding!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/03/2018 16:06

Hello

We have been out and playing in the snow and done some baking. Freezing cold here too!

book you should have cancelled or I hope you've got lots of helpers. Hope you and DH feel better soon.

84 that sounds like a lovely pudding. Is there a recipe???

How's the calms helping willow? Hope work wasn't too horrible.

Hope everyone else is OK, check in later.

Horsemad · 18/03/2018 16:47

Blimey it's cold! Haven't done much today, stayed in all snuggled and warm ☺️

Just waiting for dinner, roast chicken & all the trimmings and rice pudding - one of my faves (actually, ALL desserts/puddings are my faves! 😂).

Hope everyone has kept warm and safe today.

Chasingsquirrels · 18/03/2018 16:48

Bitterly cold.
Housework morning here - for all of us, then ds2 went swimming with a friends family (as their hockey was cancelled due to a frozen pitch) and ds1 & I took Charlie for a walk.
Then went to watch ds2 in a judo club demonstration in the next village as there was a weekend event promoting village clubs etc. He did it about 4 years ago and has come on a lot since then, unsurprisingly.
I picked up a leaflet for a bridge club, and spoke to a man on the stall who said they welcome beginners (I've always played cards in the family but not bridge) and will partner you up with someone. It's 7-9pm on Wednesday, which at the moment is free in terms of running the kids around so I might give it a try. If nothing else it's something to do that I think I would enjoy rather than something for the sake of doing something.
We were going to look at taking Charlie to ringcraft at the club we did puppy training with once he is 6mo, and that is 7.30pm on a Wednesday. So I wouldn't be able to do that, but I'm not intending to show him and was only going to do it because I can't find an obedience club locally.
Maybe if I like the bridge I could alternate every other week as they are both drop in basis.

The choc jaffa pudding sounds interesting 84.

Hope work is okay Willow, are the calms because it is stressing you?

Take it easy and let people help out book.

I saw the pictures of cakes and books woollyhug squares for 84's hug and they are lovely - really impressed cake" as you are so new to it, and book*s were very impressive.

Off to parents for tea now, hope everyone has a good evening.

Chasingsquirrels · 18/03/2018 16:49

Hey horse, roast and the trimming for us too - and even better I don't have to cook it.

Horsemad · 18/03/2018 16:59

Oh chasing, enjoy 😀 you can't beat a great roast dinner that's been made by somebody else!!

Chasingsquirrels · 18/03/2018 18:16

And lemon meringue pie, yum.

84CharingCrossRoad · 18/03/2018 18:33

Just finished work and have stayed to watch extra time Chelsea v Leicester.
My boss thinks he is the village answer to Gary Lineker. I want CFC to win and he has just called the referee a w..k.r!!!!Hmm
