Hellooooo

Read all your posts, but mind is a bit blank now.

Very hot here, but all good.

Glad my squares have made it. book it sounds like you got waaaayyy too much done in the heat today!

Hope work was OK Willow

Night night all x

Chasingsquirrels · 19/04/2018 21:11

That's how I feel cake, reading then go blank - sorry!

Lovely day here, 29c when I left work at 3pm.

Willow2017 · 19/04/2018 21:24

Hot here too. Far too nice to be working in hot cafe😁

At work everyone chips in for birthdays. Person who organises this was suepeised cos i mentioned i had chocs in post from kids grandad for my bday today. Obviously didnt know so i rhought too late now and thought no more abour it. Later the two of them conflabhing over what i thought was someone ordering something on ebay. Then i was approached and told they had a question and i didnt have to say yes if i didnt want to...they are buying me and kids Comic-Con tickets for Edinburgh in november!!!!! I was gaping like a guppy and stuttering 😁😁 have txt them since i eventually got home cos i didnt think i conveyed how amazing that was nor said thank you. Kids are ecstatic. We always wanted to go but never get round to checking dates in time. Better start saving and kids better start earning money😁 they will want to buy a million things.

84 any pudding left rhat siunds divine.

Selena and Book i start off with gloves then get annoyed with them and take them off so am always filthy after gardening😁 ooh i love rhubarb. I have some but its pretty rubbish not tasty at all once big enough to pull. I remember as a kid sticks of rhubarb and some sugar on a saucer😁 happy days. And i love gooseberries too.

Work ok but busy enough late on to make us half hour late finishing. They really should have 'last orders' type thing.

Willow2017 · 19/04/2018 21:25

P.s. birthay is Sunday not today!

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/04/2018 06:50

Wow that's amazing Willow that's one perk then!

Warm already, but at least no small children to drag around today. Just need to do some paperwork, a food shop and clean the whole house top to bottom...oh and washing to get on the line while the sun is out!

Happy Friday all x

Willow2017 · 20/04/2018 11:19

Morning all.
Had mad dash this morning when i remembered i had to take kids to school on a friday! But other kids parent thought they were so we both ended up doing it! Arghh

Lovely day. Washing out but another pile gathered from kids room along with glasses, plates etc and deposited clean laundry on thier beds😁 (taking bets as to how long it stays there😉) kitchen tidied and wiped down and having a cuppa before next load is ready.
Cm later but will have to go out to make the most of the sun, this might be our sunmer😀

mrsj i am tired reading all that! Take it easy. Ha ha i wasnt there 3 shifts when i was asked for a tenner for bosses birthday pressie! everyone else has had a birthday since then😁 but i do think its a nice thing to do. (One of the few nice things about the place)

Washing machine singing to me better get moving.

bookbook · 20/04/2018 13:00

Afternoon!
Just had lunch after a busy morning at the allotment. Just going to hang some washing out, tidy the kitchen, and then going back to the allotment with DH for the of putting up cage day 3 :)
Lovely again, doesn't really feel any less warm than yesterday .
Had a lovely few minutes watching sparrows out through the doors - I shook my feather cushions out there this morning and they are frantically carrying off as many feathers in their beaks as they can - nesting time obviously :)
Willow - that sounds like a great birthday treat!
MrsJ - take some time out in the sun for yourself!
Right, better get going
Have a lovely sunny afternoon everyone

I am tired too Grin have stopped now. Still a few bits to do, but it can wait.

Good luck at the allotment book

Yes, this may be the summer Willow make the most of it. You got lots done too!

Willow2017 · 20/04/2018 16:59

Afternoon all.
Well kids had a lovely time at the beach paddling (brrrr briefly) and rock climbing (and collecting yet more rocks to bring home!) while I read my book dozed Wind died down and it was lovely.

Trying to think of what to have for tea but the chippy seems to be calling to me, just really fancy some fish and chips Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 20/04/2018 18:19

Wrote a post earlier and it didn't post - annoying and now can't remember what I wrote.

Nice birthday surprise Willow.

Picked up a stair gate from the local selling group this morning then met my mum at a garden centre. Hope and did some weeding and planting and got scratched and sunburned.

SelenaValentina · 20/04/2018 21:05

Wow Willow re birthday!

Hurray, forecasters were wrong. Very grey start, coldish breeze but beautiful this pm, no rain at all. Did a Les Mills Barre class - hmmm, not much like ballet apart from some terminology and never use the barre so offends my version of Trade Descriptions. Certainly made me sweat! Wonder who this Les Mills who devises so many classes is? Will do again but in ballet terms it moves on too fast with no rigour of practice.

Met friend, had coffee, went to Plant Place (actual name), bought some and planted in 2 planters this pm. That's it in gardening terms until I get back (probably for the rest of the summer!).

Got home to find Gas Board Home Care (or whatever) card addressed to 'The Estate of ... deceased' so phoned and ranted at them to take DH's name off their records, as I requested last year. Mumbled semi-apologies so teacher voice went on and I gave them what for! Blush Then got another person apologising profusely so I told them to get their act together, as I'd had to.

Felt quite refreshed after that and kept me buzzing all afternoon. It now feels really cold so I've donned thick fleece.

Willow2017 · 20/04/2018 22:16

Selena thats awful, glad you told them what for. Flowers
'ballet' class sounds bizzare but if you like it then all to the good.

I need to get another pot for one of my 'old' plants I have had for years, its still in a plastic pot but this past weather has made it split. WIll mind my fingers this time!

We did end up with chippy tea (naughty mum) Have done nothing much since except I just opened my chocs, no will power at all Grin

Got to go to town tomorrow to get ds1 new trainers and pjs, he is still squeezing into his favs that are technically several years too small but he is such a skinnymalink they still fit after a fashion Smile Have put it off as his winter ones are ok just getting a bit short but new summer ones are needed. Never ending spending!

Booked gps hols, new person has taken over but sounds very nice. (more expense ha ha)
Need to speak to LL as he sprayed my 'lawn' yesterday with what I presume is weed and feed so we cant get grass or dandelions from it now for gp and he muttered if it doesnt work its comming up! Excuse me? I thought that as long as I am paying for this its 'mine'? They live next door and have decided that we can open both gardens and share them! I dont mind them taking over a chunk of the garden to use for themselves for veggies as I havent the time nor inclinatiom for veggies now but I thought that was it. As they are very good LL in all other areas I dont want to fall out over it.

Chasing hope the sunburn isnt bad, have you got aftersun? Kids got plastered in suncream for going to the beach. Thankfully tweens and teens can do it themselves not like when I had tinies Grin DS2 has vitiligo so needs to be extra carefull but he goes as brown as a berry on his 'normal' skin even with suncream, I am so jealous.

Book loving the sparrows stealing your feathers Grin
Hope everyone else has had a nice sunny day.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/04/2018 06:27

Happy weekend all!

Looks bright, but not as sunny/hot as yesterday. Will see what the day brings.

(((hugs))) Selena that you're still having to deal with silly companies. Ballet class sounds bizarre!

Willow we are also going shopping this morning for both children - never ending! LL needs to sort himself out - he can't just take stuff back or do stuff without asking.

Squirrel hope you're not too sore after getting sunned and scratched.

How are things at work with the new boss horse? Hope she's settled a bit.

What are you up to today book? Will be aiming to get the raised bed going - even if it's just some salad leaves.

Have a good day, will check in tonight.

bookbook · 21/04/2018 07:55

Morning all!
Gosh it was a hard afternoon, and still a way to go on the cage at the allotment. Ended up getting a take away for tea, as we both shattered! . It must be about 3 years since we last one, and it was a bit how much ? Shock Grin
Selena - go you - sometimes these people need a rocket ! I bet it was satisfying . Ballet exercise eh? no chance here !
Willow sounds like LL are trying it on a bit?

Funny about kids and suncream. I remember everyone looking a bit odd when I lathered mine when they were little ( a long time ago now) -- now it's more the norm thank goodness
MrsJ - shopping with DC's - I don't envy you!
It's definitely fresher this morning . I'm off to do my stint at the charity shop , and not sure if we are carrying on with the building work later in the afternoon - depends on DH and how he is. Washing is in, that will be ready to hang out before I go .
Have a lovely day everyone!

Chasingsquirrels · 21/04/2018 08:58

Had such a good day in the garden yesterday, then an altercation with ds1 and a headache ended it on a down. Ah well, today is another day.

The allotment cage sounds like very hard work book, you've been at it for a while. Hope your charity shop stint is somewhat easier Smile.

Annoying of the landlord willow, be assertive!
I always remember sun cream for the boys but am not so good for myself. It wasn't too bad, just a bit pink and has mostly gone down this morning.

Hope you had a good meal with your friends 84, I can't remember if it was last night or the night before.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/04/2018 17:23

Oh no squirrel your boys don't normally give you grief? Guess they all have their moments.

Hope you are feeling better now.

How are you doing this afternoon book that sounds like a lot of hard work. What take out did you have? nosey

Hope everyone else OK. We've had success at shopping, did some gardening and DH lost it with DS's fussy eating tonight, so all sweet/sugary stuff including Easter chocolate has been gathered up!

Willow2017 · 21/04/2018 18:12

Evening all.

Busy day of shopping! Got trainers and pjs, ended up getting a set of mens small to try as all the kids stuff were awful and for little kids or didnt go up to his age. Trailed around shop after shop. The range for boys in shops is absolutely appaling.
Had coffee and black cherry muffin ooooh lovely, new flavour, I love black cherry so happy bunny Grin
Ended up with more food shopping for the gannets for packed lunches next week and a couple of double decker easter eggs for £2 each.

Went to garden centre and got another pot. DS2 all excited looking at the gps as they have long haired ones and a couple of unusually marked ones just now, they are adorable but cant get one yet. Having checked at all the very few rescue centres around it seems lone gps are not easy to come by from them. They are all long term paired gps which wouldn't be fair on ours in case they ganged up on him.

Squirrels hope the altercation has blown over and alls well again.

Book busy as usual, was the shop busy today? The sun seems to bring people out in droves, town was busier today.
MrsJ ooh cracking down on the fussiness. Hope it works.

Waves to Horse and 84 and Selena hope you are all having nice sunny days.

bookbook · 21/04/2018 19:24

Evening all!
Hope all is well again with you today Chasing , it is almost worse when the day itself has been good, gives you a horrible feeling
Willow -so true about boys clothes in general - DD has to work hard to find nice stuff for DGS, as he is so tall he is just going into 7-8 year old clothes, most of it not suitable for a 5 year old. ( He's just learnt to ride his bike without stablisers ! :) )
MrsJ - it was Indian , which I usually make myself - we had 1 rice portion, 1 nan and a main each , it was over £20 .....though it was delicious :) ( last time we had one, the mains were a lot smaller, but we could have managed with one in hindsight as they were much more generous ) . Oh dear , is DS being particularly fussy atm ? Poor you, it must be such hard work .
The shop was heaving today - I never stopped, and had a queue - everyone busy - it was great!
We even got some more work done on the cage this afternoon. It's a bit of an edifice Chasing Grin - but like a big polytunnel, but netted, not covered in plastic.- its the whole width of my plot (7 m) and 4 m wide and over 2m high . Its going to stay up permanently, netted, and the door left open when things don't need protecting. It will be much less work in future years . We only did a couple of hours today, making it straight(er) Hmm and strengthened. Just a bit more to do, and the net putting over ready for planting up in a few weeks time .
DH has turned on the snooker ... so I am going for a soak in a hot bath, with a book to read.
Hope Selena Horse and 84 have had a good day

Difficult day today. Saw one of DP's neighbours today and she told me a new family had moved in.
It's like the last part of him has gone.... SadSadSadSad

SelenaValentina · 21/04/2018 20:14

84 💐 hope that works for flowers - I'm on phone again

You all sound to have had busy, productive days? I used to buy DS's clothes in French hypermarkets as far better choice than here!

I did spinning then bit of shopping. Sunbathed so front of me is pink, back usual pastey white. Packed, stuff in car. If up early enough and weather OK will walk in tomorrow for ☕ and the exercise. Intend to set off around 11 as stopping off to see friend in Newark at 2 ish.

Clouded over, rumble of thunder, now appears to be clearing again. Really warm.

MrsJonesAndMe · 21/04/2018 21:18

Raining here now!

(((hugs))) Lottie, that seems very quick Sad

DS is terribly fussy, but tonight even plain chicken breast got turned down.

Have a great holiday Selena and happy birthday Willow Cake Brew

Willow2017 · 21/04/2018 21:40

Willow2017 · 21/04/2018 21:42

MrsJonesAndMe · 22/04/2018 06:20

Good luck for today. Hope it goes better than expected for you.
