bookbook · 15/04/2018 12:49

Afternoon all!
Lovely morning here, just starting to cloud over
Chasing - sounds like a good fun evening. The thing with not hearing from DS - he is probably having such a good time, he hasn't even considered ringing/texting, while you are at home, wondering ...
MrsJ - you will be fine re blanket - you are doing lovely stuff already!
Willow - are you making jobs - washing the inside of car windows Shock Grin
84 - Hope you had a lovely day/evening, and all went well with Wilf.
Having a bit of a sit after lunch. Done a fair bit this morning. I managed to snaffle some lovely slate pieces going for free , ( I am hoping to use it to edge around my greenhouse) so I had to go and pick that up - but the car still had a bootful of ballast and cement in from yesterday . Emptied all that, went and picked up the slate ( heavy stuff! ) , brought that home then went off to plant my potatoes at the allotment. Easy afternoon due , just a bit of sorting out of plants and pots in the garden, and we have everyone for tea so being lazy by making a lasagne and salad.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone

Oh was my worrying about him book, just responding to MrsJ's enquiry about him. The bit about his phone being out of charge was because while we had packed an international charger is forgotten the conversion bit!
He messaged this morning and said he as having really good time.
German school on Friday - Maths, Cooking and PE. Then went to the German boy's table tennis club in the evening.
Out with the family yesterday, bit of sight seeing, visit to the lego shop for over an hour (presumably a big one!) and then bowling.
Off to watch a football match this afternoon.

Sounds like you deserve a relaxing afternoon, have a lovely time with the family.

Hope work goes well Willow.

I've put the lounge back togather and vax'd the playroom, plus in the process of washing the rest of the sofa cushions - the set I did yesterday had dried overnight.
Charlie had a few accidents on the carpet while house training but I think we are there now, and with the good weather yesterday I though I'd take advantage and freshen it all up.

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/04/2018 15:00

Well done Squirrels that's a lot achieved!

busy day for you too book and well done on freebies for the greenhouse Grin

I've started square #1 Hmm

Good luck at work Willow Hope the boss behaves, as do the other workers and the customers too!

84CharingCrossRoad · 15/04/2018 18:43

Well all went well until Wilf went to go home and there was NO disabled assistance for him.. He had to find the train and get there on his own at nearly 9.30pm.
Heaven help SE Trains when I ring up tomorrow morning. They hot both barrels on Twitter last night too..... Angry

Willow2017 · 15/04/2018 20:39

Evening all.
84 thats awful get them told tomorrow.
Everyone very busy today i see.

Work hell for 4 hours. Must have been 'humiliate Willow day' was on verge of tears and just wanted to leave. But i am stuck until something else comes up. One thing for sure if thats the fettle they get into on a pretty busy day i just wont cope with a full on packed out summer sunday. Feel useless and stupid and angry.

Book inside of windscreen was streaky after all the wiping of condensation over last while so definately needed a clean😁

Chasingsquirrels · 15/04/2018 21:22

Have a hug Willow and some Cake & Brew x

MrsJonesAndMe · 15/04/2018 21:55

Oh no that sounds horrid! Big hug, hopefully other places will start hiring for the summer soon...

bookbook · 15/04/2018 22:09

Evening all

Chasing - that sounds like a very satisfying sort of job - I need to get on and do, waiting for a nice warm, blowy day to come up .
84 - grrr for you and Wilf - its not good enough, is it ?
Willow - ah , you deserve better , I so hope you can find somewhere that appreciates you . ((hugs))
MrsJ - just another 70 to go .... Grin
Ended up doing a bit this afternoon too, so rather weary here...
Sleep well all

Willow2017 · 15/04/2018 22:36

Thanks ladies.
Right now i don't know how i am going to force myself to walk into that place next Sunday i really don't.

I don't have much confidence to start with but they are destroying what little i had every week. Oh well its a week away😀
Sleep tight all.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/04/2018 06:27

Morning, that was just about the worst night's sleep possible. Luckily a fairly easy day with just one small person.

Hope the sun is shining on you all today.

(((hugs))) to Willow Hope you get the boys out of bed and then take a bit of time for yourself.

bookbook · 16/04/2018 09:59

Morning all
warm but a bit grey here - it lashed it down last night!
Both me and DH a bit muscle sore , so we are going out for the day before picking up DGS , just a gentle ramble around basically , otherwise we would be stuck at home complaining .
Just need to hang some washing out first, and a cup of coffee .
Willow - I'm hoping its a management style - DH had one of those , one of the bullies of the world in above their head .Horrible though, makes it very tough on you, so be gentle on yourself .
MrsJ - sympathies on the sleep
Have a good a day as possible folks

Willow2017 · 16/04/2018 11:26

Morning all.
Hope you have an easy day MrsJ and can catch up on rest later.

Book yep i think you are right. They expect staff to go the extra mile (or 6) but have no idea how to treat them well so they actually want to. Going behind their backs, changing things without telling all the staff so we find out second hand, talking about staff in whispers even when they are there, talking to staff like we are all stupid changing the goalposts frequently. Its not a happy place to work at all and dont even mention health and safety/food hygiene despite the endless cleaning! If they only knew what all thier staff said about them when they arent there.

Enjoy your ramble a nice way to spend the time, hope yiyr aches and oains ease up. I have the same this am. Mind you banging the base if my skull on stupid microwave door after putting stuff in low cupboard at work didnt help, shockwave went down my neck and spine! Stupid idea that the doors shouldnt be closed properly to 'air' and they swing open without warning.

Got txt early am to say lift share kid ill all night so my plans changed. Had to jump in shower and take kids to school so went straight to town for shopping and a good long read over my coffee. Was lovely and relaxing and the staff are so nice and friendly i think what a contrast to my work.

Having a coffee before attacking housework. Washing out but after nice start sky is getting black.😐 was raining here last night too.

Horsemad · 16/04/2018 17:42

Willow, you need to get a job in your coffee shop, sounds much nicer than your place of work Flowers

84CharingCrossRoad · 16/04/2018 19:22

I rang the train company this morning and asked for a manager to call me back. They didn't. I then became Kickass Mumma. Rang them back. Asked why I wasn't rang back this morning and told them truthfully I had a journalist and a BBC reporter interested in covering the story. It was then escalated to a senior manager who is supposed to be ringing me back tomorrow. If she doesn't then I will be carrying out my threat!!!

SelenaValentina · 16/04/2018 20:30

Grrrr to 84 and Willow. Second Horse and the coffee shop - have you ever left your details in case something came up?
MrsJ, hope the day's been peaceful enough.
book, hope your day went well too.

Nothing much to report, really. After rain, it turned into sunny day so finished hospital shift early to clear a better path for Barnaby to plod round. Rain forecast for tomorrow. DS and (mainly) DIL kindly built a bigger house for her yesterday but she won't use it for a time, goes back to the hibernation hole and shelters there. Boringly interesting somehow!

Water meter now sorted, used about 4 gallons to scrub hands after gardening, got several pairs of gloves, none of which much use but if it saves water ....

This time next week I'll be in Suffolk!

Chasingsquirrels · 16/04/2018 20:47

Did the wander ease your sore muscles a bit book? Hope you had a nice afternoon with dgs.

Sending you sleep vibes for a better night cake.

Very annoying 84, hope they get back to you tomorrow - are you after an apology?

Willow I agree with horse about leaving your details at the cafe.

Selena, how lovely of DIL. Wave on your way past to Suffolk ☺.

84CharingCrossRoad · 16/04/2018 20:53

They are contractually obliged to refund the return fare of his journey. I will press for a whole refund! I had the good sense to look at their disabled charter on their website!!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/04/2018 21:08

Hello

Survived the day and just sat down.

(((hugs))) Willow and well done 84 hope that they respond properly.

Hope you and DH are feeling better book

Waves to everyone else x

Willow2017 · 16/04/2018 21:35

Evening all.
Horse and everyone else who mentioned it I did give the manager my cv around Oct last year but nothing came of it unfortunately. Get the feeling i am past it 😁 Just noticed txt to see if i can work morning to afternoon tomorrow instead of my late shift. Fortunately i have plans, but anyway i am not working 6 hours on my own with boss for all the money in the till😁

84 keep at them thats very lax customer service. Good luck with call happening tomorrow as promised.

I seem to have contracted all your spring cleaning bugs! Blitzed bathroom. Cleared shelves and cupboard and was ruthless with stuff i never use/out of date and washed shelves, cupboard and anything that didnt move😁 got 3 lots of washing done and kitchen floor before i gave up and had a cuppa. Its all your fault!!

Selena how ungrateful of 'Lady Tortoise'😁 Am sure she will come round.

Book hope the backs are better this pm.
mrsj fingers crossed for a good night.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/04/2018 06:50

Hello, much better night, thanks. Still feel like a zombie.

Good for you Willow, good luck for the late shift.

Have 2 babies and a 3yo today!!!! God help me!

Hope you all have a good day. Apologies if it rains, DS is wearing his shorts and DD going in summer uniform too Wink

bookbook · 17/04/2018 08:46

Morning all
Got totally sidetracked last night after getting home.
Ended up not going out - DH too tired, but we pottered around, didn't just sit around and I got an extra load of washing done at least before picking up DGS - it was lovely, as he was able to properly use his playframe and enjoyed it a lot.
84 - wow the utter lack of any customer care is breathtaking .
Willow - I would definitely go and ask in the coffee shop - remind them nicely you would like to be considered , take another CV and see the manager if possible. Persistence can work :)
MrsJ - oof 3 under 3 ... I wish you well!
Selena - ooh, have a lovely time - we've been to a couple of places in Suffolk- lovely area , though I found Aldebrugh a little sad to be honest - so many empty second homes .
It's rather grey and breezy here , another quiet day - off to the market , and then sorting out some more greenhouse stuff. Depending on DH , we may be getting started putting up a new cage at the allotment too.
I have some sewing to get sorted and done too.
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning.
It was my turn not to sleep last night! Gave up about half one and went downstairs for cuppa and read my book and that seemed to do the trick.
Took kids to school and nipped in to opticians with glasses to get new frames. They are going to glue the side screws in but they can be removed if necessary apparently.

Sunny day but its still very cold with cold wind.

MrsJ rather you than me😁 hope they all nap at once give you time for a sit down with a cuppa.

Book good luck with the frame. If i won the lottery and bought my ideal old rambling house and garden i would have a fruit cage (and a gardener to look after all the fruit bushes properly 😉)
