Oh wow! When will it end? DD and I met friends for trampolining (the children not us) so that was lovely, then we met up with the boys - they had gone swimming - and had lunch at Prezzo. I'm sooooo full now and just had a main!

DD has her swimming lesson later, so need to go out again. Bored with feeling like a drowned rat!

84CharingCrossRoad · 04/04/2018 17:41

Today's been spent shopping. Then a friend popped over with Wilf's star lamp. Bless her she wouldn't have any money for it.
I have a Mum from school who moved with her children to Scotland. They come back every year and I always take them a cake round. I have made a chocolate sponge cake. Also my friend W is coming to colour my hair tonight as I'm off to the Olivier Awards on Sunday night. I've made her lemon drizzle cake!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/04/2018 20:38

Hmmmm Cake

Willow2017 · 04/04/2018 20:39

Omg lost the post again.
Ended up leaving early as snow just relentless. Very slow drive the old way back for part of journey as Edinburgh bypass gridlocked with snow and no visibility!
Still raining here although snow lying 10 minutes up the road!
Went for chippy carryout and took some pics of the sea. Wild and full of sand. Parked 15'from sea wall and about 15'from beach level and car engulfed by a wave! moved car😁😁
Glad to be home but shame trip didnt go to plan at all.

84 lucky you what a great night out😀

Glad you're home safe Willow Can't believe the weather!

We have got sun and bits of blue sky for the first time in ages....going out to make the most of it and stripping our bed. Also need to get the children to the library for new books and pack ready to leave for MIL's tomorrow morning.

Hope you all get some sun too! Check in later.

bookbook · 05/04/2018 08:55

Morning!
Gorgeous sun here today !
Just about recovered from yesterday too . DGS was brilliant, but it never really dried up, so the house is a bit ermmm - Grin . it will soon be sorted.
I will be off to the allotment shortly , and then this afternoon need to get on sowing seeds too.,
Bookmarking on here is a bit all over the place, so just had a quick read of posts.
Have a lovely sunny day everyone

Beautiful blue sky and sun here too, picture of Charlie lying next to me in the conservatory (I'm sitting on the kitchen table not lying on the tiled floor with him!).

Quite morning yesterday, ds2 had had a friend for a sleepover so they gamed. I took Charlie out then we pottered.

Took them to a local sports hall that has rollerskating late afternoon, ds2 had mentioned going to CurveMotion (skating and soft play place = ££) and I said there was this one in the next village on Wednesdays after school that we could try. Ds1 came too and his girlfriend and my friend and her DD.
Heaving with little kids and ds1 sniffy about it at first but then they all had a fantastic time and I think it's going to be a regular fixture. Only a couple of quid each so much better that the spendy and much further away place.

Running late after that as went on for half an hour longer than advertised so went to the chippy on the way home, quick tea then I went to bridge and dropped ds1 at a friend's house for a sleepover.

Bridge was good 😁 but I cried on the way home 😓 cos I want to tell John about it.

Cuddle and watched some t.v. with ds2 afterwards then left the kitchen door open for Charlie rather than shutting him in the kitchen and while he did wake up (I can hear him moving) he didn't actually whine for me and I didn't get up till 8am. So I'm trying that again!

Going for a dog walk with friend (where ds1 is sleeping over) in a while then over to my parents for lunch - although I'm debating a v low calorie day.

84 hope the talk goes well this evening.

Ekk at your weather Willow, hope it starts to get better soon.

I can imagine the house mess book, but worth it and as you say soon sorted.

Can't remember what you said cake, sorry - will reread when I've posted this....

Can I just, once again, say thank you to all of you for sticking with these threads over the last year x

Juan and I have emailed a couple of times recently as well.

Oh a Prezzo lunch cake, we go with Tesco vouchers. Sounds like a low key day for you today, enjoy.

Hope the tortoise resurfaces Selena.

Willow2017 · 05/04/2018 12:57

Morning all.
Bad day. One of the guinea pigs died. Heard what sounded at first like him snoring but when i checked him knew it was bad. Odds on he had a stroke. Phoned vet and one stayed back for us as lunchtime but he died on the way on ds2's lap. He is distaught. Vet confirmed it was prob a stroke but just to keep an eye on other one just in case it was a bug. Brought him home to bury in garden.

So much for the sunniest day of the hols.

Afternoon
oh Willow :( life sucks sometimes, doesn't it .
I'll come and report back later - I've had a busy day so far .

SelenaValentina · 05/04/2018 16:31

Oh Willow, what an awful start.

Rained all day yesterday, thoroughly depressing. One friend's DH had hip op and all well. It's not looking good for hospital colleague's DH. Reason in such pain and can't move is that cancer has impinged on his spinal cord. He's been rushed from local hospital to Preston for urgent radiotherapy. Life sucks sometimes/often. Sad

On a lighter note, it's been a beautiful day, clear blue sky. Have donned wellies, sploshed through flooded lawn/thick mud and cleared some of stuff put on garden under tarpaulins whilst patio being done. Just 2 things to put back on when lawn dried up a bit and DS can get on it to help me lift.

An even lighter note, the cop NDN is very cheerful about it all after throwing his strop! Smile

84CharingCrossRoad · 05/04/2018 17:15

Just been to visit the little people armed with chocolate cake. Littlest boy isn't quite 2 and we had to stop his feet going in the cake!!! Grin

Oh Willow.... Sad Wilfs guinea pig died two weeks ago and he was very sad. We are currently trying to match the other one with a new friend....

Willow2017 · 05/04/2018 18:59

Hi ladies.
Lovely cake😁 84 i remember Wilfs gp dying to. Its so sad. I havent mentioned geting another one yet as we would need to wait until the weather's better and they are outside again so they could be seperated at first til they got used to each other. Would have to see if i could get another cage on freecycle or gumtree. Cant afford a good new one!

Went to town and had coffee and cake and chated about upcoming hols and past hols and had lovely time. Popped into Homebase for new pot for my primroses and couple of new plants as needed a couple of taller ones to finish of the small one and more fancy primroses to fill new one! Never fails spend more than i should😁

Selena so sad re your friends dh. Life sure sucks at times. Glad ndn has calmed down.

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/04/2018 20:44

Not much to report here squirrel

Hope the talk went well 84 and hugs to all of you, I get lots out of posting here too squirrel so thank you. Sorry it's so hard without John x

I'm off to crochet now!

bookbook · 05/04/2018 22:14

Evening all !
well, just put my crotchet down ( constructing a blanket)
But - have done 2 loads of washing and ironing. Been and spent time at the allotment picking veg and tidying. Then off to the shops to pick bits up. Sowed a load of veg seeds this afternoon, before sitting down to do said blanket . Its going well, and DH made tea so I could crack on with it.
Chasing - I'm glad it helps a little - nothing can bring John back, sadly, but we can certainly hand hold and empathise ( and chat! )
Willow - its hard not to rush out and try to replace pets, but it sounds as if you have a handle on it. Poor DS . I always end up spending more than I mean to on plants and pots - Aldi had bulbs and little plug plants in today

84 - great cake! - Hope the talk went smoothly.
MrsJ - you have become hooked haven't you :) I know you are due to visit MIL - when do you go? ( and how are you coping with the dreaded low carb?)
Selena - oh, horrible news about colleagues DH . It really hits home . But good news on getting garden back into order - makes such a difference and cheers you up .
Hope Horse is okay
Sleep well everyone :)

Hi, I've been reading but not much to post about, hence my absence! ☺️

Just back from a meal out, it was ok but the evening didn't really go to plan; never mind.

All my days are muddled with having the bank holiday off - feels like today is Friday!

Sorry to hear about the gp Willow, never had any as pets, what's their lifespan?

Hope everyone is ok Flowers chasing - gorgeous pic of Charlie, btw. So very cute Smile

Willow2017 · 05/04/2018 22:56

Horse usually 5+years so very young he was only 3+. And i for one just like seeing all the posts on everyday stuff so dont stop posting on that account. Sorry your evening didnt go as planned.

Book hope you have room for all your new plants😉

Chasingsquirrels · 06/04/2018 06:08

Hi Horse, pah that the evening didn't go as planned but good to hear from you.

Always room for more plants! We went for lunch at my parents yesterday and spent the afternoon there. They have a massive garden and atm it is full of spring bulbs and flowers, lovely. Charlie had a fab time chasing balls round the allotment.

That's young for the gp Willow, how are the boys about it?
We've always been quite matter of fact about the death of small animals (hens - which aren't really pets and hamsters) but gp's are a pet you can get more connected to I think?

Awake early for some reason, can hear Charlie stirring so I'm lying very still in bed so he doesn't hear me (my bedroom is above the kitchen).
Hair cut this morning, meeting a friend this afternoon although not sure what we are doing then the boys want to go to the roller skating from 6-8, an extra session they are putting on for the holidays.

Put our swing set and climbing frame on the local Facebook selling group yesterday and think I have takers.
They were both 2nd hand (or more!) to us and we've had for about 13 years so they aren't in mint condition to put it mildly but are still good for someone although the swing set really needs new swings the frame is sound.
I just put them up for £5 each as want them gone - I suggested it last year and both boys said no but really didn't use them at all last summer and said that it was a good idea when I said I'd listed them yesterday.
I'm not totally sure how they will be removed / transported so we will see!

MrsJonesAndMe · 06/04/2018 06:40

Morning you lot

It was a quick decision book and not mine really As we didn't get to see MIL for that weekend she got snowed in, I asked if DH wanted to invite her down. He decided we should go there... I'm not low carbing by any means Blush but have cut out quite a bit - eg having greek yogurt and berries for breakfast instead of toast and when home for lunch making an omelette instead of a sandwich etc.

horse there's never much to report here either, but I still manage to post Grin I'm all out of it with the holiday days too!

Squirrels I hope Charlie went back to sleep. Enjoy the hair cut.

(((hugs))) for you and DS2 Willow - I discovered a dead GP a while ago and it's not nice. We don't have any now... Will you hear back from your scan soon?

Sending you strength Selena and a virtual Daim bar Wink Glad neighbour behaving.

Loving all the baking pictures. Fab cake 84

Lovely weather for being in the car today Hmm

Willow2017 · 06/04/2018 09:18

Morning all.
Oh its cold and overcast today, typical.

mrsj dont see my gp for 2 weeks re scan, thats first avail appoint! But was told at scan what they found. I am not convinced that its the diverticulum thats causing the pain/discomfort though. Seems unlikely but will see what gp says.

Squirrels there were lots of tears ds2 was devastated. He broke my heart in the car stroking him and begging him to wake up. But better after our trip out late afternoon. Burried gp in garden and he made a + with garden canes bless him (twd influence there i think🙂) eldest didnt want to help but went out to see grave later. He is a big softie under all the teen crap. Its so strange cuddling my crying 'baby' who is bigger than me!
Hope Charlie stayed quiet for a while.

Was going to take stuff to skip including a load of bottles but will wait and see if till weather improves later. Have ironing and housework to do and the dreaded 'clothes trying on' with kids 😁 might just be a lazy moo and have a pj day😁

Watching tv that fab man who just did a zip wire at 106yrs old! Good for him! 3 world records in 3 years! I feel positively useless now😁😁

Willow2017 · 06/04/2018 12:30

Clothes trying on went well with ds2 Grin got a bunch of stuff that now fits and threw out some stuff that is his age but too short in leg! Gawd he is going to be tall too.... (well eveyone is tall compared to me I suppose Wink )
Noticed some of ds1's stuff is getting too small/grotty that will be fun persuading him to try stuff on for me and going clothes shopping if necessary, give me strength!
Had to get dressed to attack some mould ds2 spotted in my bedroom, forgot to put dehumidifier on this week when drying clothes cos kids hung up washing for me, damm. Would help if the boiler was fixed properly and I could get all the shelves of linen out my damm bedroom so its not so stuffed full of stuff!

Sun trying to get out from behind clouds but still cold wind. Washing out so fingers crossed wind keeps rain away.

Need to dust my bedroom Blush but bathroom done. My exciting life eh?

Hope weather is good to you all.
