bookbook · 31/03/2018 23:19

Evening all!
good days had by all I see ( well, apart from Horse's team losing ...)
Selena - nothing quite like having insurance - sounds a good plan for tyres :)
Willow - amazing cake!
MrsJ - a much deserved lie in ( and I just have more spare time than you to crochet)
We had a semi successful day . The play equipment was put together pretty well - it didn't rain , just a bit boggy underfoot . It mostly got done until the slide needed attaching, to be found broken. When it was delivered , DD checked all the packages, but didn't open them . They are agreeing to replace it but it stopped us in our tracks. Have to wait now for that, and there is still the job of concreting it all in, but - it won't take too much more time , and it will allow the grass to dry out at least before it needs to be done :)
The weather is looking horrid for the next couple of days - snow ! Shock on Monday .
Everyone for tea tomorrow , so really need to go and pick veg in the morning - probably in the rain

Sleep well everyone

Love the cake willow, very talented. Sounds like ds2 loved it as well Grin.
And it's so nice when they really like a surprise present.

cake so nice to get a lie in and everything sorted, and a good day out with a mostly dry day too.

Ups and downs Selena with the tyre but sounds like an okay day overall for you, hugs x

What a pain with the slide book, but hopefully it will be here soon. What veg are you picking at the moment?

Shame on the football horse.

Couple of fullish days here.
Dog walk yesterday morning with friend and our youngests who, having spent 11 years basically ignoring each other, are now spending break times together at secondary. They have been put in the same teaching class (out of 10 so quite a coincidence) and have consecutive initial surnames so were next to each other a lot in seating plans to start with.
The same thing happened with our eldests as well, although they'd already been friends - we'd met when they were toddlers and spent a lot of time together but the last couple of years before secondary they hadn't been so close. Now they are best friends.

Ds1 made his chocolate pudding for tea then had archery and ds2 and I pottered and I got tea ready.
Family over and played games and cards after tea.

Family have a viziler dog and Charlie was very worried and submissive, but eventually managed to play a little and it was so funny watching them all.

84CharingCrossRoad · 01/04/2018 09:54

The film was very powerful it's only 20 minutes long. Really recommend it. Not sure if it's on the iplayer or not....

Willow2017 · 01/04/2018 10:36

Morning.
Weather has gone mad! Bright sunny day this morning. Sat outside to have my cuppa. Came down after shower and its hailstones! Grey clouds blocking out sun.

Squirrels sounds like a good day.
How strange about the friendships you just never know how things will work out do you?

SelenaValentina · 01/04/2018 13:30

Easter Smile Easter Smile Happy Easter everyone! Easter SmileEaster Smile

book, doesn't that just drive you mad. Carelessness on someone's part. Grrr. I grabbed it when they offered tyre insurance - already needed twice, think that may be the limit for this year. All the potholes I think.
Thanks 84, I'll have a gander.
Squirrels, coincidences truly stranger than fiction.
Willow, they won't know what you're giggling at anyway. Who cares what they think.

Started off bright, now looking bit dodgy - I've just remembered I froze some MandS profiteroles, so that's my tea sorted. Easter Blush Healthy eating started tomorrow (or Tuesday, Wednesday ....) Easter Grin.

bookbook · 01/04/2018 13:49

Happy Easter!
Just having 5 minutes sit down before I go off to do crochet and relax before everyone descends .
Really wet and grey here, interspersed with just mizzle. So, I chickened out of picking veg .
I was hoping to get to see that film 84- so good to know I can see it on iplayer
Chasing - its always an interesting time when new friendships are made - most of my truly good friends are from my early 20's rather than earlier in truth. We love playing cards here too - big problem is our favourite game is Canasta, but it only needs 4 , and there are too many of us for that. Still plenty of veg to pick , I have savoy cabbages, sprouting broccoli, perpetual spinach ( a bit like chard) , kale , cauliflower and still a few leeks . I have a couple of stored winter squashes left too at home , so one of those is making up for not going down today .
Willow - sun ! lucky soul - good to make the best of it :)
Selena - yes, the potholes are truly horrendous around here too, so far so good on the tyres so far for us though. Oooh - profiteroles yum -:)
I am starting to be good tomorrow on eating. I am at a big family wedding in the summer, so going to try and lose a stone before then, Just need to stop any snacking < and hide the chocolate>
Enjoy yourselves everyone Easter Smile

SelenaValentina · 01/04/2018 16:59

book, no good me hiding chocolate, it screams 'come and get me' through whichever barrier. So may as well eat!

I was going to give up my Monday hosp. shifts if any of you can remember my trivia. Just learnt that one of my 2 colleagues's husband has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, spread to bones and probably lungs.

The journey starts all over again for her that she heard from me. Easter Sad.

I think I'll be keeping on with the shifts for now.

Gone very grey here, not warm by any means but not wet - yet. Easter Smile

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/04/2018 19:17

Sounds like good day all round, check in later x

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/04/2018 20:27

Right, before I forget to catch up properly - Happy Easter to you all.

How awful for you Selena I'm sorry for the bad news.

Guessing you had a great family day book Spoke to y mum on the phone but not really the same.

I'm doing an Easter cake on Tuesday (yes I know it's late, but we're having people over, so it will get eaten and DD's only back then) Will look similar as yours Willow for DS's birthday.

We had a dry but cold day - rain back on the menu tomorrow grrrr

Love to you all and catch up tomorrow x

Willow2017 · 01/04/2018 20:59

Evening all.
So much for not busy at Easter!! Went like a flipping fair! Where they all came from i dont know. But everyone in good spirits and good staff on all day which prevented usual lazyitis in one person😉 but only got 3 minute break and chance to gobble something down pdq. Am knackered, late finishing again. But thats me off for a week as they got tuesday covered. Yippee😊

Selena how awful for your friend. So sad. My uncle had that many moons ago.

mrsj you have to post a photo of your cake on Tuesday😀 bet its heaps better than mine though you are much more talented cake wise😀

Snowed off and on most of day. As it wasnt lying we allowed that it looked very pretty 😀

Going to watch 'marvel agents of shield' with ds2 now. We are big marvel fans😁

Glad everyone has had a good Easter.

JaneJeffer · 01/04/2018 23:49

Just popping in to say Happy Easter to all Easter Smile

DramaAlpaca · 01/04/2018 23:52

A quick pop in to say hello & Happy Easter to you all from me too.

84CharingCrossRoad · 02/04/2018 05:32

Currently wide awake and listening to the rain bucketing down outside...... Hmm

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/04/2018 07:58

Morning all

Lovely to see you Jane and Drama How are you both?

That's an early wake up in the holiday 84 hope you managed to get back to sleep.

Wet for the next 3 days here too.

Happy week off Willow I'm not sure I'm better at cake than anyone else really apart from eating it

Willow2017 · 02/04/2018 08:58

Happy Easter monday all.
Woke too early for a holiday too😀

Overcast and cold and more rain/ snow forecast, not promising at all.

Hi Jane & Drama* how are you?

Got lots to do this morning as dont think its going out weather today everywhere will be wet and soggy after rain for days. So boring housework and tidying (roping kids in to help😀) and having ds2 try on clothes that are filling my bed drawers as he is growth spurting like crazy.

Horsemad · 02/04/2018 09:50

Morning All Smile wet here. Truly miserable weather - cat refused to go out!

Off to town for food shopping & then make the house presentable - getting carpet fitted tomorrow so better tidy up a bit 🙂

Chasingsquirrels · 02/04/2018 10:54

Where does all the rain come from??
Very wet here, hens look like drowned rats.
Went to Wetherspoons with family for lunch yesterday and ds1's girlfriend came which was nice.

Selena hope you are okay, am sure it brings up memories.

Willow have a good week off, I'm off this week too - back to work once the rain stops Hmm. We are doing tidying and sorting too.

Horse lol at the cat not wanting to go out, Charlie looks at me as if he was saying "seriously, you want me to go out in That?"

bookbook · 02/04/2018 11:06

Morning all
Lovely to 'see' you Jane and Drama
I now have a lovely dark chocolate egg to share with DH , and just for me , a nougat one ( I adore nougat ) so temptation is just there .....
horrible here too Horse - but at least it is just cold rain, not sleet or snow - small mercies! New carpet too - how long before someone doesn't take their shoes off/spills something I wonder. (DH biggest offender here ........!)
Selena - its horrible news for her, brings it all back I suspect for you too. There does seem to be a lot mentioned atm - the husband of one of my acquaintances has just been diagnosed with 'aggressive' prostate cancer. I only know them slightly, but it still cuts to hear about it.
Willow - you never don't have lots to do it seems to me , but hope you do find time to sit and relax. After all, you won't be going out in this
84 - early wake up, but one of the things I love the most is being all cosy in bed listening to wind and rain on the window ( well, as long as I don't have to get up that is!)
MrsJ - hope the 3 days in doesn't drive you all to distraction - I hate not getting out and about every day, and pretty sure the cake will be amazing .
Chasing - hope you are enjoying feet up time after your busy days .
Well, I have done 2 loads of washing - they have gone straight into the tumble drier, finished tidying the kitchen after last night -(everyone stayed to play board games - I can recommend Dixit) .Been out and fed the poor birds - they are going through the bird seed at a rate of knots .
Will have a pile of ironing, to do , need to go and get some milk and other bits . Then I can carry on constructing . Three quarters of the way through, if I push on I can finish it tomorrow. We are having DGS overnight tomorrow - and its all laid out on his bed :)
Hope everyone has a lovely day , regardless of the weather

Hi everyone! On phone again and forgot to take notes to respond individually 👉🙄.
Grotty weather here too.☔ DS arrived then his friend to pick something up. I mentioned to DS about TV cable mess after putting it on wall frame and friend leapt up 'I'll do it, I love doing that'.

And so it came to pass that I now have a very neat TV clutter corner!

Whatever floats your boat! I made his day he said! Enjoy your day too, I'm off to meet other hospital colleague for coffee, we can plan our support strategy for afflicted colleague.

Chasingsquirrels · 02/04/2018 15:51

Fed up and missing John today.
This too will pass.....

Willow2017 · 02/04/2018 16:40

Aww Squirrels sending a hug ((())), not much i know when you have to work through stuff yourself but its all i got, nothing i say will change how you feel.

SelenaValentina · 02/04/2018 17:59

Squirrels, yes it will pass, no it won't pass - depending on the day. And for me, depending very much on the weather.
Flowers and Flowers for us all in this desert of loss.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/04/2018 19:28

Hi all

Sending some big hugs round to Selena and Squirrels

We've been out and about this morning and taking DS and a friend to indoor play tomorrow. Wednesday DD is going trampolining with her friend while the mum and I chat and the boys are going swimming - so not trapped indoors, but still... It really does impact your mood doesn't it???

I've baked, assembly tomorrow so will put a picture up at some point.

Still crocheting - square number 13 nearly done. Pleased as punch.

(Also off this week) Make the most of it horse and Willow and Squirrel
