Morning all.
Bucketing rain and very windy here. Lazy morning slept late after waking up at usual time and dozing off again.

Aching all over so not rushing to go to town yet. Need some bits and pieces (and Easter eggs😀) and wont get tomorrow as ex coming over for ds2's birthday.

Sounds like a full house 84 and a nice family get together.

We will be going to visit my aunt at some point over hols. Need to pick a day she doesnt have something on😀 89 this year and goes to crafting club, pensioners clubs, coffee mornings, monthly meals out with her pensioner friends etc. She has a better social life than me (which tbh wouldnt be hard) She bakes for all these things and last week made 60 scones for a charity fundraiser and another coffee morning then wonders why she is knackered 😁 hope i have half her energy if i reach her age😀

Now about to watch The Silent Child with my Mum. I've seen it but I want her to watch it too.

Got the boys helping me sorting stuff out in the garden this morning then we all came in around midday and it started to rain. Lots more to do but a good start.
Lazy afternoon, did some ironing and watched TV then over to my parents this evening for tea and cards, mum's brother and wife staying and they are all coming to us tomorrow evening.

Mucked out the hens and collected the eggs this morning and had 4 - must be Easter!

Did the shopping (rain got heavier and heavier!) Went for coffee and had apple and salted caramel muffin for a change😲

Decorated ds2's cake its not perfect as usual but he will like it its got reeces pieces and maltesers and choc fingers😀
Watching the Kate Bush documentary. Absolutely adored her in the 80s have her albums still. I really need to get a record player bought have money sitting there for it. They just look so stark and souless these days and of course arent called that these days old fogey . Would i be sad to get an old fashioned stereo system😀😀

mrsj hope weather is improved by tomorrow no fun going out in wet and cold.

I'm on phone so can't flit back and forth to see who's post fits what, so I'm not ignoring anyone honest. Memo to self: make notes.

Sorted out garage door today, the last on my major project list. The guru guy was lovely but about 5' - felt odd as I wanted to keep bending down to his level! I'm only 5'5" myself! Anyway it will be here in approx 6 weeks, by which time there will have been (another) major garage clear-up.

And sorry, gang, but been a lovely if chilly day here. No doubt in a few weeks the tables will be turned.

well, we have had a dry day , maybe a bit cold , but not complaining. Had a lovely walk through a local woods, done a bit of housework , and a lot of blanket constructing . 's

We still have a record deck, but it is in the loft, along with all our old vinyl.
I don't buy Easter eggs any more, I buy little 'treats' instead , though DGS does have a little chocolate ladybird along with some Lego mini figures .
Chasing - the hens have obviously settled in well , even with coloured highlights!
Selena - I think it's Happy Birthday for tomorrow? And a hair do if I remember aright. All done and dusted on all the updating too - when is the patio finished?

Book i think i still have the record playing bit from my old stereo but nothing to plug it into as i got rid of the huge speakers. Dont know if it would fit modern speakers. Would be good if it did.

Have put banners up and blown up baloons😀need to get the pressies down from attic and find the card to write🤔 its in a 'safe place'...

Thank you for remembering book yes, hair too thankfully, and Willow - hope DS's birthday goes well. After posting and reading all your lovely replies I no longer felt as tearful about it all.

Patio finished, not to go on it until Tuesday (at which point no doubt have monsoons for weeks, but have been so lucky with weather) whilst some technical magic happens to turn joint filler into resin.

Happily my little garage door man didn't get too technical but crikey, what choices!! Steel finish, wood finish, real wood, single layer, double layer, 16 colours, 3 textures etc etc. My mind boggled.

Ds2 over the moon with his surprise lego. He is currently sprawled on floor putting it together😀 that will be him for the next hour or two.

Going to make bacon butties for late breakfast in too much of a rush before swimming nobody wanted to get up in this weather😀

Oh, Horse, not your time at the moment from sound of things.

I started my day with a flat tyre . So instead of going to gym I went to car dealer, thinking I could lounge about, drink their lovely coffee then meander off to gym for a shower (and more coffee ). However, the service people were busy so I got a brand new courtesy car and off I went to gym, then hairdresser (at last), picked up friend (now thankfully improving with 'not' DVT, cellulitis, ulcer etc), then picked up own car and we went for late lunch/tea. Home to find DS and DIL sorted front of garage as far as possible for new door and skip been collected.

All in all then, a very good day. Luckily I have tyre insurance so cost me just £25 - and they washed and valeted the car too. And it stayed fine. .

A very big thank you everyone for the kind birthday wishes - it really is so appreciated and - warming the right word? Feels very supportive anyway .

Quiet pm here slobbing in front of tv. Still have to do tea dishes but not got the motivation yet. I washed grill pan and top oven and glasses on big oven doors earlier. Need to do top oven glass but not tonight.

Birthday wishes for Selena and for DS Willow that is an awesome cake. Did you have cake Selena? What a pain about the tyre. Glad you got your hair done and cannot believe you're doing another project!

We had a glorious day out - the weather wasn't great, but 99% dry and DS had a blast and no complaining in the car!

Horse it's a shame that your team lost, but hope the rest of the weekend goes more smoothly.

Ah, how do you find time for it all book? I've struggled to get square 2 started today!

I had the best "present" this morning. DH got up with DS and sorted him, made the picnic, emptied and restacked the dishwasher before getting me up - leaving me to only get myself sorted.

Thanks re cake both you and Selena (as i said to Horse the fingers hide my slightly uneven cakes and messy buttercream😀) ds2 had another slice at teatime so must be ok. The peanutty reeces pieces actually taste nice with the rest of the cake!

Forced myself to do dishes and clean up.

Trying not to think about work tomorriw. Apparently its never busy easter sunday so fingers crossed its just normal day. I always feel inadequate and watched on sundays by the 2 usual suspects. I fight the urge to leave constantly😀

Willow, try giving 'the terrible two' names. Bill and Ben, Mutt and Jeff, Ugly Sisters or whatever suits them. And imagine them in curlers, looking like 'Fag Ash Lil', or the Les Dawson parodies ? At least then you could giggle to yourself?

DH used to recommend thinking of idiots like that sitting on the toilet 😂.
