I've had some medical stuff on too, but not had a chance to speak to DH yet, so will post tomorrow.

Evening all

  • slumped in chair. Lovely day, DGS was brilliant - everyone for tea, but they have all gone, and DH has gone out too . I need to unscramble my brains from trying to sort out Strongarm Transformer ( rubic cube x10 !) Grin . Going to sit quietly with some crochet now... Willow - urgh its horrid - I had to do that a while ago for other reasons. I was the only one there who had at least attempted to drink it all,( but I do drink a lot of water generally ) . Good to hear it may not be too serious though . MrsJ - hope you are okay Chasing - are you sure the hen didn't want highlights? Selena - ah, I think you keep strong , to be blindsided by the less obvious. Hope everyone else is okay

Crikey, book, my brain needs unscrambling from what you achieve in a day. You're a wonder.
MrsJ - hope all going to be well.

Thank you for the support. As we've said before, it's the anticipation isn't it? All will be well, all will be well, all manner of thing will be well. Or shall be well, according to which version you read! Let's hope they are, for us all.

Willow2017 · 27/03/2018 21:00

Evening all.
Hugs for Selena too. Its not always the obvious that hits us.

mrsj hope all is ok with you too.

Book i am tired just reading your posts.

Am shattered. Work went like a fair couldnt keep up with customers it was like a sign was put up and everyone on the road pulled off😀😀 but we went like the clappers and only finished 10 minutes late. Good co-workers on always helps. Kitchen full of dishes, ds2 has homework still to do...on ivf of all things for science! I am watching last bit of bake off itching to put twd on, could be a while.

Squirrels if the person in car on front had been watching me they would have thought i was crackers! I was swearing like a trooper and banging the steering wheel yelling at them to move in desperation😁😁😁

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/03/2018 06:57

Hi all

Nothing too serious hopefully just cautious GP but some bloods to be done and a scan to wait for. Just to check for cysts or whatever. In the meantime, I've been told to cut the carbs to see if that's the cause of my belly looking like I'm 6m pregnant Sad which will be very hard as I know I rely on sugar to get me through the day.

Well done getting through that shift Willow after the drama of the morning.
I've seen your blanket on FB book - it's lovely! I ended up sending 10 squares so half a blanket. Feel quite good about that!

Thinking of you Selena You have done so amazingly well, but I don't think anyone would blame you for feeling sad. Glad the patio is coming along well.

Poor hen Grin How is DS2 enjoying the bike Squirrel? And DS1 with his own bow at archery?

How are you keeping 84 and horse?

Chasingsquirrels · 28/03/2018 07:10

MrsJ hope everything is okay, it's hard not to worry in anticipation.
I did 5:2 a couple of years ago and hadnt really realised the amount if calories in carbs. Cutting them down / out made a massive difference and I definitely notice it now if I eat too many. Hard though.
Well done on the squares.

Hope you are well rested after your busy day book, I much prefer a Rubix cube to a Transformer.

Busy shift Willow but good that you all pulled together, I don't suppose you get overtime if you have to stay later to clear up but it has to be done before you leave.

Ds1 is v pleased with his bow and is loving archery.
Ds2 hasn't been using his bike much, he used to ride to primary but gets the bus to secondary. He wants to bike but the roads are traffic busy in the morning and I'm not comforter with that yet, plus his bags are heavy. He'll use it more in the summer though and still very pleased with it.

John used to say "it will be alright in the end, and if it's not alright it's not the end yet", it's a quote I used in his eulogy.
Just another way of saying keep on going. More hugs Selena.

bookbook · 28/03/2018 08:56

Morning all
A bit grey here today .
MrsJ - Congratulations on the squares - considering when you learnt, thats amazing! Tough for you not to be anxious, and then not able to use your favoured food as well. Hand hold here for you.

Willow - I wouldn't think I am busy as such. I'm just doing the things I love, and can rest if I want . You are the one having to run around to earn money and look after teenagers .
Chasing I'm not surprised you are not comfortable re the bike - traffic is manic these days , so many bad drivers too. Lovely to hear DS1 is enjoying the archery - money well spent on the bow by sounds :)
Selena (hugs) for you too - you always seem so strong and serene, it knocks you sideways.
Well off to do some housework - DGS makes my house look like a jumble sale after its ended ......Grin
Have a good day everyone

Hello, so far not too bad. I've been to the garden centre - raining cats and dogs - and had green tea and a flapjack with dried fruit and seeds - not low carb by any means but better than hot choc and cake.

Just had an omelette for lunch with bacon, mushroom and cheese. It's all complicated by the fact that my thyroid is wonky which makes me feel exhausted, but apparently not at treatment level yet.

I am scared of all the cars on the road too (and the rubbish drivers, dog walkers with a chip on their shoulder and bigger kids who might want to cause trouble) Sensible words from John.

I'm pleased to hear your praise book but whether they are any good is another matter. Feel like such an amateur! My house also looks like that ATM, but sitting while the terrible 2s is having a nap and the 3yo is having a bit of screen time Blush

So I will be mooching around online for some food ideas and making an online food shop for tomorrow.

Check in with you all later x

Hi all. Sorry not to have posted for a while. All good here.
Wilf has done really well in an art competition. From almost 1800 entries he is down to the last 110!! It is a papier mache model of Pigling Bland.
Currently have a lemon drizzle cake in the oven and am watching Whitechapel. It isn't nearly so scary in the daytime!!

Still supporting after DH died ( Juan et al)
Willow2017 · 28/03/2018 18:05

Hi all.
Fab bit of art there 84 well done Wilf. Fingers crossed.

mrsj was thinking along the same lines as you. But i think it might be very hard! My gall bladder is niggling away today too, my body hates me.
Hosp ok apart from waiting half an hour for my blood results as lab was slow. Still low but not enough to do anyhing about. 6 week appoint. Why dont they just get the practice nurse to do them here and send them over then if i need to go give me an appoint? 2 hours travel for whats normally 15 minutes! If they are same next time i dont need to go back for 3 months yeah.
Raining off and on on way home. Weird that thier are still swathes of deep snow further inland at roadside.

Got shopping am and stuff to make/decorate ds2's cake either tomorrow or friday am.

Got Easter card from thier grand dad today with money to get everyone eggs😀😀

Horsemad · 28/03/2018 21:30

Evening!

Had a busy day doing not very much! 😀 Went shopping with DS but it was rubbish, couldn't get anything I wanted. Will have to try a different town tomorrow.

Hope everyone is ok. Early night needed here, feeling quite tired.

SelenaValentina · 28/03/2018 22:08

Hi All!

Lovely sunny day here today. Did spinning, picked up friend for coffee, came home, then picked up same friend to drive to hospital for ultra sound after she'd been called in late last evening ??DVT. Got there at 2.30 to find ultra sound actually at 3, half an hour needed for paperwork - all of which completed last evening. Grrr. Not out till 4.15. She's not had a DVT, her swollen leg with split skin does not have an ulcer, she does not have leukaemia, she does not have a blood disorder or infection. Lots of nots, but no whats.

I truly respect the NHS, but imo they need to get their act together and have joined up thinking/common sense. In this day and age why on earth can't their computers communicate with each other and why do they need paperwork in triplicate when info has already been inputted.

When DH went in the paramedics called up his care plan but A and E couldn't access Confused as don't run that program.

Luckily hospital not too far away, unlike for you, Willow, what a bind.

Early night for me too, decorator back for 'touch up' day and arrives before 8!

Willow2017 · 28/03/2018 23:04

Evening
I have been scrubbing baseball boots with brillo pad for ds2! Apparently its non uniform day tomorrow, who knew?
Sent him off to find something decent to wear and suggested the drawers in my bed where all the hand me downs are. He found twisted jeans, a black and white check shirt and a sweatshirt in greys...he looks fab obviously gets his good taste from his mum Grin but his bb boots were filthy..of course they were.

Thank the gods its last day of school tomorrow, might get a long lie Friday!

Fell asleep in chair after tea! All that travelling and working catching up with me not getting old at all

Slelena glad your friend has had all clear for dvt etc but hope they get to the bottom of it all pdq.

MrsJonesAndMe · 29/03/2018 06:33

Morning all

I went to bed at 9pm and slept till DS woke me at 6.

That sounds like a very long day Selena and for you too Willow

Ours have half a day - finishing at 1pm - thank goodness, I'm done in too!

Oh no Horse It's always the way - what were you looking for? Clothes?

Wish me luck with day 2 of cutting down the carbs! Did some yoga last night too. Halo

SelenaValentina · 29/03/2018 07:56

MrsJ - you can do this!

Beautiful morning here, hope same for everyone!

Willow2017 · 29/03/2018 08:16

Morning all, very frosty this morning! Enough already.
ITS LAST DAY OF SCHOOL YIPPPPEEEEEEE😁

Stupid parent pay not working so scrabbling around for £ for kids lunch. Great start to day.

mrsj that was a good sleep for you but i cant imagine having to go to bed at 9 😀

Aching all over this am. Once kids leave need to get moving shower, washing and run round with hoover then hopefully bake ds2's cake. Work later.

Having to work next tues as no cover but then off for 7 days. Looking at places to go with kids to get out house. If weather is good may go to Alnwick Castle as they have events on like artisan crafters that kids can get involved in and harry potter stuff as they filmed a lot of it there. Local farm park always has easter egg hunt and loads of things to do. Anyone got axel grease and a crowbar for ds1 to get him out the door?😁

Have a great day folks catch you later.

bookbook · 29/03/2018 09:44

Morning all
lovely here , if a bit chilly , but off to the allotment shortly :)
It was great yesterday - it never rained , and I got 3 loads of washing dried and ironed!
Horse - nothing worse is there - I can always find things I don't need, or when I have no budget, but I have almost given up going looking for specific things, as they never seem to exist .
MrsJ - I have seen some of your squares :) . Hope the low carb isn't too much for you - it's hard
Willow - a whole week off - enjoy it DS2 outfit sounds great.
Selena - it is a bit with the NHS, and yet also they do amazing stuff too , its so unbalanced . Hope your friend finds out what the problem is.
84 - that is lovely made by Wilf - but don't feel pressurised into posting because you think you should - its not what it is about.
Right - shift on now
Have a good day everyone

Hi
Cake made and made some choc chip/cherry flapjacks but the damm things are still a bit soft despite adding extra oats and longer in oven, no idea what happened this time. Ho hum. Will still be scoffed though Smile

Hoovering done, washing sorted and put away. I had a sarnie and not doing anything else apart from get ready for work soon. Grin
Suns out but not done washing, going to teach the kids ds1 how to do washing tomorrow, their wash bag is full.

84CharingCrossRoad · 29/03/2018 15:58

I'm on holiday now from school. Still have to look after my lady. My sister, niece and nieces fiancee are coming to stay with Mum and I for Easter.
The builders from next door have dug up the front of our drive. We will eventually get a free drop kerb out of it.

84CharingCrossRoad · 29/03/2018 19:04

Now trying to put together a talk I said blithely last October I would give next week on LS Lowry.... So many books to plough through....

84CharingCrossRoad · 29/03/2018 19:51

Two months today since DP died. Feels like yesterday. His DD has just put a lovely photo up of him with her stepdaughter in the hospice on his birthday.... Sad

Chasingsquirrels · 29/03/2018 20:37

Hugs 84 no time at all and yet in other ways forever.

Willow2017 · 29/03/2018 20:59

84
Hugs its no time at all. Where are you giving your talk?

Half hour late finishing tonight am aching all over. Why do people ask when do you close yet sit till after closing time talking while we run about clearing up like mad things?

I think i am dreading the summer its going to wipe me out if every day is busier than lately😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/03/2018 06:49

Good morning - missed you all completely yesterday!

Sending you a big hug 84 Sounds like you're keeping busy. How was the cake? drool

book I'm intrigued Grin Hope they were OK. I've realised I have some wool that is Chernobyl colours only, so will see what I can do before the deadline.

I love flapjacks, but I'm not always good at baking them Willow no idea why! Hope you enjoy your time off and that it's dry - forecast is wet, wet and wet here!

Thanks Selena I'm working on cutting out the huge amounts of crap (lets be honest) and doing some switching of carbs.

Hope you all have a good Easter weekend. x

bookbook · 30/03/2018 09:55
