I'm feeling rough again, may need another 9pm bedtime, but I did lots tonight while waiting for DD so I'm pleased Grin

DD's made a friend at drama and it turns out they live not far from us, so going to offer to take the girls to save us both driving over next week.

Night night!

Willow2017 · 22/02/2018 21:05

Evening all.
Busy at work. Am starving and sitting eating a slice of cold pizza! Ds going to wait till tomorrow for birthday cake/tea. Coughed his way Back upstairs 😀

Hope an early night helps Mrs Cake good news about your friend.

SelenaValentina · 22/02/2018 21:13

Happy Birthdays and commiserations to all feeling rough, get well soon and Flowers.

Jab gave me horrific cramp in both legs and hands (normal according to Dr Google) late last evening so I double dosed on calcium/magnesium/D3 sachets and drank lots of very cold water. Seemed to sort it as didn't wake up shrieking. Got cramp again this evening so more of same.

Stopcock found - hidden by washer - so another water meter assessment arranged for Wednesday. If it saves me £400 a year like they say, that's another holiday? Sounds a bit too good to be true Hmm.

Do hope everyone soon better and you can catch up on sleep. Sorry, Horse, but it was beautiful again today, hopefully same with you too.

Horsemad · 23/02/2018 06:30

We actually had some sunshine yesterday Selena! I had to close the blinds at work... Hmm

Was very cold last night, DH & I went out for a meal and the cars were icy at 8pm and worse when we got home so will have to be careful driving to work this morning.

Hope all suffering from cold/virus/CP are feeling better. ☺️

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/02/2018 06:56

Morning all. Rough as hell. Lemsip consumed, about to shower.

Have a good Friday all!
Hope DS feels better today willow
Ouch Selena hope it's better this evening.

Chasingsquirrels · 23/02/2018 07:30

Brr it's cold, icy on cars here at 7pm when I took ds1 to archery, so mine went in the garage.

Getting into the habit of falling asleep on the sofa late evening, which isn't good. I'd been heading to bed not long after ds2 went around 10pm and reading in bed - but that seems too long to be leaving Charlie. Ds1 came down at 12.45 last night and asked if I was going to bed or just spending the night on the sofa, and then I remembered the washing machine needed emptying.
Just try harder to go to bed.

Ds2 woke up with Charlie this morning so I'm not up yet but just about to be, need to tumble dry a school top for each of them from yesterday's washing.

No work, but do need to pop to a local client briefly and will call in on MIL, then some admin if I can manage it - it's too cold for gardening!

Morning everyone!
Willow - you sound exhausted - but I hope DS1 is feeling better today, and you have a lovely delayed party tea :)
MrsJones - poor you, hoping you are not working today, so you can allow yourself some rest. It is nice when you can pair up with parents - a bit of reciprocation taxiing is great :)
Selena - ouchy on cramps, horrible things - hope it is all worth it . We had a water meter fitted a year ago, and it has saved us money ( maybe due to the fact the girls have left though Grin )
Horse hah - closing blinds due to sun ! It is not nice driving in this - nobody seems to be prepared to alter their driving due to the conditions and can be frightening . Hope you managed to get to work safe :)
Chasing certainly no gardening here apart from a tiny bit of tidying - no allotment either, the ground is much too wet to work atm. I hope you can find a routine which gets you to bed , but its hard I bet (hugs)
Well, not sure whats happening today , but I grudgingly think it had better be housework - but crochet will creep in somewhere!
Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 23/02/2018 09:35

Morning all. Very frosty again this am. Houseworking (grudgingly here too Book ) and cm'ing later (i presume)

Hope you have an easy day Mrsjones
Selena ohh cramp is awful hope its gone never to return.

I hate driving at this time of year when sun is so low. Why dont car visors go right across the windscreen? There is always a bit where the sun is right in your eyes and you are driving with your hand up to block it. Even the sunglasses clip ons on my driving glasses dont seem to do enough for my eyes. Just hate it.

Willow2017 · 23/02/2018 11:36

FOrgot to say...guess what the monitor for DS1's pc is broken! Probably in transit have had to phone up for a replacement! And they forgot to put the cables in to connect to pc! Trust it to happen to us Grin Now need to box up the broken one and they will replace it wednesday. Always something in this house!

Chasingsquirrels · 23/02/2018 12:50

That's very annoying Willow, how is he today?

I popped to client then into town, got some hyacinths and mini tulips - then discovered no compost when I got home so have just put them on the windowsill for now.
Then went to Tesco and got a new orchid and some daffodils along with the food shop.

Bit better thanks Squirrels still has the cough but only half day at school today and as he was awake late didnt send him. Told him unless he breaks his leg he isnt getting off school again till summer hols😀

Lovely picture, I love tulips but there are so many to chose from! Wish i had a huge garden (and a gardener 😉) and dedicate an area to as many varieties of tulips as i could squeeze in😀
Cant stand the smell of hyacynths though. Lovely to look at just not in the house thanks.

Need to get my pots sorted out have tulips etc pokimg through some others need emptying out and redone as waterlogged. Want a warm day though as i am a 'cauld tattie' do not like working outside in cold weather.

bookbook · 23/02/2018 17:40

Afternoon
I am lurking, away from the mutterings of DH in the kitchen. He is chef today - we have run out of parmesan ( disaster!!!!!) and he has used the wrong rice for the risotto ( even bigger disaster!!!!!) I am ignoring Grin
Had a very quiet day, got all sorts of bits and bobs done , and a fair amount of faffing around too .
Tomorrow I am working in the little (very cold) shop in the morning again - my diary got totally messed up. Then out to our big market . Going around to see my oldest friend for coffee afterwards , haven't seen her in an age .
Tulips and hyacinths are lovely. My DMum always had a pot of them on her windowsill .
Hope MrsJones is okay, along with everyone else
Have a nice evening all

Willow2017 · 23/02/2018 20:32

Evening.
Have had another technoligy failure day! I blocked the gaming site ds2 uses on my router and now he has his own pc i unblocked it...except its still blocking it on pc and phones! Tried help desk and nothing worked. Appatently i wad to turn it off and on seversl times leaving it off longer each time till my ip address changed. It didnt. I have even switched off the safeguard thing but its still blicking it. Not happy. Will be back on to Plusnet tomorrow if its not resolved by then.

Had chippy tea at ds1s request and his cake. Nice cake but icing just fell off! Nothing sticking it to cake. Think i will stick to home made in future and try more adventurous things myself😀 but appreciate her making it all the same.
Swimming then shopping tomorrow
Ds2 needs school shoes oh the joys of finding some to fit him. He is like me and shoes have to be just right😀

Hope you are not too cold tomorrow Book take plenty blankets and a hwb😉 hope the 'chef' manages to rescue the risotto.

MrsJonesAndMe · 23/02/2018 20:59

Hello

I was working today, but just an easy one Wink but had a message from my mum to say she's taking my dad to the Dr - totally unheard of in my lifetime - so worried till he got a diagnoses and he's not tucked up with lots of pills (serious infection from a teeny little scratch)

I much prefer home made Willow but for special occasions you always feel like what you do won't be adequate...I think they like home made. Hope he's better for Monday and that you can sort out all the tech issues - what a disappointment to have his screen not working!

Sounds like a busy day Squirrels I've bought myself bulbs for outside and I've had a bunch of daffs in the kitchen each week. This week being pay day, I pushed the boat out and got tulips Grin

I've finished a 12"er today book Hope you don't freeze tomorrow and that the risotto was edible Wink

Hope you have a lovely birthday celebration for DS this weekend Horse

How's the hip/legs today Selena?

Willow2017 · 23/02/2018 22:37

Oh dear i have to stop watching 'QI' ds2 just been down to tell me to stop laughing so loudly! Think i have done myself a mischief😀

Have a lovely weekend with birthday boy Horse hope weather is nice.

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/02/2018 06:36

Did you hear Stephen Fry has cancer? Sad

Still rough and nothing like a 5:30 start! Catch up with you all later x

Horsemad · 24/02/2018 06:52

Yep I heard about Stephen Fry Sad

I was awake at 05.30 too. A combination of falling asleep on the sofa for an hour last night, so didn't need as much sleep as usual & DH snoring which woke me Wink

Once I'm awake I find it very difficult to go back to sleep.

Work was busy but not very productive yesterday and in the end I left early (well, 15 mins so not THAT early!) as I needed to collect DS from the station.

Had our usual Fri night fish & chips Smile

Footy today weather permitting - was very cold last night so hope pitch not frozen.

That square looks lovely, you have done really well with your crocheting Cake.

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

Chasingsquirrels · 24/02/2018 06:55

Hope everything is okay for your dad cake.
Have a lovely weekend with ds2 horse.
I'm partial to a bit of QI too willow, although tend to watch most stuff on catch up rather than live.
Hope the shop isn't too cold book.

Willow2017 · 24/02/2018 10:42

Cake hope your dad is better soon.

Squirrels it was a compilation of best bits. Completely mental bits. You must watch it if you can.😀

In town having reviving coffee before hitting shoe shops. Wish ne luck!

MrsJonesAndMe · 24/02/2018 16:16

He's got up and on as normal stubborn old fart

I got more wool so have been busy Blush

Take care all. Hope you survived the shoe shop Willow and that you all have a lovely Saturday eve.

SelenaValentina · 24/02/2018 19:03

Hope everyone's had a really good day, kept warm (especially book at the shop and Horse watching football) and enjoyed the sun?
Oh lovely, squirrels, I hope to get gardening when carpet fitted and patio re-done.
Cake/Jones hope your dad is OK, and the crochet looks great.
Willow, hope IT realising that you are actually the boss? Grin

HaloHalo Yesterday I sorted out my sock/knicker drawers (2 narrow and shallow) and felt so virtuous that I've sorted out a chest of drawers today. If this is the result of the hip harpooning, long may it last.

I do not need to buy any more socks for the rest of my life, they've clearly been breeding.

May just be that I'm thinking of carpet fitters having to take drawers out when moving furniture Blush. Also discovered that drawers under built-in bed were full of DH's stuff. Who knew - obviously I've never looked in 35 years. BlushBlush again!

Enjoy the rest of this cold but clear evening.

bookbook · 24/02/2018 19:07

Evening all!
Had a lovely day
rather unexpectedly busy in the shop this morning, so little crochet got done, but I was very cosy , I had put on many layers !
Lunch out and saw DD and DGS while at the market, they were there mooching around too .( bought some very naughty buns at the patisserie stall - utterly divine ....)
And had a fabulous couple of hours at our friends - as with all really good friends, haven't seen them in ages but we just started talking and away the time flew :)
Willow - gah on technology, once one things goes wrong, it's like dominoes - they are out to get you! Hope your back and leg are not troubling you too much
MrsJones - glad the news is better from your Dad - and enjoy the wool!
Will be watching QI on catch up later too Chasing - hope the weekend is kind to you
Horse - you are a tougher person than me - footie watching in this weather ! But isn't it the way that you wake up early on the days you don't need to - maybe your mind telling you to make the most of it Grin
Hope Selena is okay
well, I got 2 blanket construction kits through the post from WH today, and the weather is looking dreadful this next week, so I expect to be holed up nice and cosy under lots of wool in my lap - what not to like!
Have a lovely evening everyone

Glad to hear there has been productive days and good days.

I'm zonked, so another early night. Fingers crossed that the cold feels a bit better at the moment.

PS Juan not doing great - all to be expected, but I'm keeping in touch.

Chasingsquirrels · 24/02/2018 21:45

Hi Lottie, I was really sorry to hear about your DP, I've followed posts about Wilf on here for years. Such early days for you, as you already know. Hugs x
