Hello all

I don't think she has posted after all, but might do in the next while...

All been quiet, just about to put him to bed - we're all shattered.

Sounds like a good day Squirrels Loving your parents baby sitting Charlie now Grin

Welcome back Selena Hope the break did you good and the work in your house was done.

Yikes book glad you had the blanket on your lap! It was sunny but chilly here.

Bldy technology Willow! Hmm

Bid you all a good night! Will "see" you all in the morning.

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/02/2018 21:11

Just me shuffling in to say the anniversary is the 27th not today - got my wires crossed 😳

Willow2017 · 18/02/2018 21:12

Evening all. Am shattered. Busy morning sorting washing and cooking tea for kids tidying up etc. Then work full pelt for 8 hrs. Snide remarks, finding jobs for us to squeeze in yadda yadda. I felt rubbish before i went might have whatever ds1 has and just spent 4 hrs on tenterhooks just waiting for another complaint. I wanted to just walk out and cry. We all work bloody hard in there and it isnt appreciated one bit.

I really think that place is not good for my mental health never mind my knackered neck and back. Will definately be looking hard for somewhere else. Its getting much busier in evenings and too much for only 3 of us. To cap it all ds1 still feeling bleugh and ds2 been sick!

Hope you have all had better days😀

Willow2017 · 18/02/2018 21:15

Oh lordy am i just a wimp? Should i just grow a backbone? I am really shy and hate confrontation so its hard for me to stand up when everyone just accepts it and complains later.

Horsemad · 18/02/2018 21:44

Hi Willow, would it be better to try and reason, or say nothing and risk snapping when the straw breaks your back...?

I'm getting bolshy in my old age 😉 so I know what I'd do!

Chasingsquirrels · 18/02/2018 22:00

Oh Willow, hope you haven't got the lurgy.

Lazy morning there then some quick housework and made the boys do their rooms and vacuum round.
Dropped ds1 at his girlfriend's then ds2 and I took Charlie for a walk, then popped to the Co-op for a French loaf and ham for lunch.
Over to my parents for tea and cards.

Boys back to school tomorrow, I do like school holidays.

Always loved it when mine were on school hols ☺️ No setting the alarm, leisurely starts to the days...

bookbook · 18/02/2018 22:08

Evening all
been pottering around today - allotment this morning, everyone ( almost) for tea, then an evening with knitting. Just found out that the virus/bug son in law has may well be chicken pox Shock . We think DGS has had it last year, (only had spots in his mouth poor thing) and I and DD1 have had it, so its just sitting it out.
Willow - you definitely need to find something better for you, body and mind wise - easy to say, but no so easy to do . It's time you had a bit of luck
MrsJones - I would not be any better at remembering ...!
Selena - nice to have you back - glad you had a nice time - it is a bit warmer here, but not sunnier!
Lovely picture Chasing :)
Sleep well everyone

Willow2017 · 18/02/2018 22:43

Horse i dont think i would get anywhere trying to reason with them. They are always right even though we all know they screw up sometimes but they just brush it off as unimportant. I will just have to pull up my big girl pants and suck it up till i find something else. Its such a shame it should be such a great place to work. All the staff are nice and work very hard they just arent appreciated.

Book hope its not chicken pox it is suppisef to be pretty nasty in adults. Mind you i got croop when doing a stint in kids ward in nursing training! That was awful. There was a bunch of women staying in my nurses home at the time doung a bereavement course and they came to the door to see if i was ok as they hadnt heard me 'whoop' for an hour😀😀😀 ended up being sent home till i was over it😀

Squirrels lovely pic. A nice way to spend the day. Havent played cards in years (unlesd you count kids card games!)
I love school hols too no frantic mornings. Ds1 still 'barking' but hopefully be ok for school tomorrow.

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/02/2018 06:36

Hi all, another terrible night here - all full of cold...back to work/school. Maybe I will love half terms when they're older, but for now it is still getting up early Hmm

Willow it's such a shame, but I think you need to be looking for something else too.

Squirrels looks like Charlie had a lovely (wet) walk.

book yikes, CP in adults are meant to be awful! Juan has posted now if you'd like to pop in and say hi.

horse how is work now?

Welcome back Selena

Catch up later. x

Chasingsquirrels · 19/02/2018 06:54

Awake because I needed the loo (grr) which woke Charlie - my bedroom and ensuite are above the kitchen where he sleeps.
Come down to him and for the first time no mess, although he won't now go because he wants his breakfast first - which I'm not giving him yet because I'm training him not to just bark at me in the morning until he gets it. So atm I'm on the sofa with a duvet and he's snuggled on the beanbag next to me.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/02/2018 06:55

Sorry to hear you've had a bad night cake and have colds there as well x

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 19/02/2018 08:19

Morning all.
Sorry you had bad night Cake. Hope the bugs go soon. We are infested here too. Ds1 still barking like a dog with raw throat and ds2 still has sore tum. I feel just 'bleugh'. So no school rush today. Need to get myself motivated to do housework though.

Squirrels aww bless him no mess, its another step for him 😀

Popped on to Juans thread too.

Wet and miserable this morning just so depressing. Was talking to ndn before work yestetday when i was putting screenwash in car and washing insides of windows and we agreed we were fed up with winter now. Sick of the mess/rain/snow/winds etc sick of needing gallons of screenwash, sick of having heating on every day and generally just want summer here Now😀 was a good ol moan😀

bookbook · 19/02/2018 09:04

Morning all
Cake - oh no - nothing worse than everyone full of cold, and no sleep - poor you
Chasing good news with Charlie ,I never seem to get back to sleep once I am woken up
Willow - though it has been cold and wet, our winter here has been so mild in comparison to normal - barely a frost, and no snow either . Just dank and wet .Weird.
Horse - I wonder if we all get more bolshy - I know I am more prepared to complain about things I would just mutter about in years past
Just waiting to hear about son in law , though OOH doctor seemed to think it was likely . He was feeling pretty grotty on Saturday I know.
It has been raining overnight, so no allotment today. Housework beckons instead - lovely! (not)
Just a few little jobs to do on our way to pick up DGS from school this afternoon . will be trying to get some crochet time - I seem to be trying to finish all sorts ,
DGS has asked for a little blanket for the car, and has chosen the wool /colour he wants, so that will be arriving later in the week ..... I shall have to start crocheting in my sleep !
have a good day everyone

Willow2017 · 19/02/2018 12:48

Found some energy and done kitchen and tidied up in cupboard under stairs, dusted and tidied living room. (Wont mention the shelves on staircase that were ermmm white...or the lampshade cough cough sneeze that hasnt been dusted in an age apparently 😀)
Need to get off my butt and hoover and hang washing upstairs cos just for a change its still raining.
Am now working extra shift wed, glutton for punishment but extra money not to be sniffed at.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/02/2018 15:10

Good morning at work and home to an enthusiastic puppy ☺.
Wet & miserable here today ...

SelenaValentina · 19/02/2018 15:27

I lost the thread yesterday ?? responded on Juan's, she sounds so down Sad.

Decorator very nearly finished, and my bedroom/stairs look so much brighter Smile. Fingers crossed carpet fitter can get sorted by end of weekend then it's the big sort out (again!) finding homes/chucking out/recycling. All very therapeutic. Ish.

The blepharospasm can be Botoxed by my eye consultant apparently, as he is an opthalmic plastic surgeon. Going tomorrow to be assessed. Then it's the cortisone stabbing, sorry injection, in my hip on Wednesday. So medical week for me.

Hope everyone's day going as well as it can.

Willow2017 · 19/02/2018 17:36

Selena
Good luck with assessment although the thought of needles near my eyes isnt a cheery one. But if it solves the problem i would suck it up. I had steroids in my shoulder a couple of times it was not great but more bearable than i expected.
Wish i had decorators in several places need doing but i can do them myself if i muster up the energy😀
Hoovering done and have lost the will to do any more. Have ironing to do later. Given kids the washing to hang up and put away dry stuff and a pile of stuff from downstairs that's thiers. Dont know why i bother really it will be just as untidy again in 2 days😭
Dentist tomorrow first thing so will get shopping too. Then work pm. Was given a share of the tips yestetday in one of those little bank bags. I thought oh £xx thats great.. but when i got home it was actually more than double! Was gobsmacked😀 Put it away in holiday box.

Ds2 has eaten and is fine now thank goodness goodness knows what made him sick only 2 times cant be a proper bug. Ds1 not barking much so both school tomorrow all being well.

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/02/2018 18:53

It was wet and miserable here too!

She does sound unbearably sad doesn't she Selena

Hope all the medical things go OK. My mum had steroid injections to her shoulder too - said it was very painful.

That's a nice bonus Willow almost makes it worthwhile...

We've all made it through the day which is as much as I could hope for really Grin

Book you'll need to have a crochet-athon! I've just done DD one hand warmer, but of course it needs to be a pair, so best crack on, but a Chernobyl square or 2 first....on that topic, I'm so worried that my stuff won't be up to scratch! They're all slightly different sizes (but under 6" for the small ones and 12" for the big one) so hoping it will be of some use.

Sending hugs all round x

Chasingsquirrels · 19/02/2018 19:02

Sound like you are getting into the crochet cake, im sure whatever you've made will be welcome.

Am loving your dgs asking for a small blanket for the car book.

Good news on the tips willow.

Injections don't sound much fun Selena, but if they do the job then worthwhile x

Can't remember if horse posted now (sorry!).

Popped over to see MIL for a bit this afternoon, just makes me sad 😑 and then guilty that I want to move forward with my life but she clearly isn't going to.

Having a v low calorie (ish) day but didn't have the chicken for my usual meal so have had a mismatch of things and am still hungry! Roll on tomorrow 😉.
I haven't weighed myself for a bit but can feel that I've put some weight on and want to lose it, not lots but enough to notice.

Quiet evening beckons, boys with their dad. Sofa and tv (and no chocolate, Grr).

Horsemad · 19/02/2018 19:37

Just coming on to post chasing 😁

Had a good day at work - it's seeming a bit better Cake, so fingers crossed it remains so!

Not much going on tonight, probably watch a bit of TV and an early night.

Hope your boys are on the mend Willow, and your DSIL book. I had CP as an adult, was quite poorly but not as bad as some poor people who have had it when grown up.

Good luck with the medical stuff Selena!

MrsJonesAndMe · 19/02/2018 21:04

Glad you had a better day at work Horse

I'm sure that MIL at her age isn't going to want to move forward. I guess it's not the natural way of the world to have to bury your child. You must feel awful for being caught in the middle...guess all you can do is t do what feels right for you (and your boys). My friend's MIL is in her 90s and causes a lot of grief for them.

Guess you need to go to bed now so you can't eat Grin

SelenaValentina · 19/02/2018 22:11

Glad bit better at work Horse. Willow, what a nice surprise considering the hassle.
Cake/Mrs.Jones - I'm easily confused.
CP, book, poor her. I had it as a child so pathetically the doctor thought it was heat spots, when my DB came out in millions (still his words) of spots, GP decided I had had CP. Probably infected the whole town by then. Made sure I had shingles jab as soon as I could.

I'm trusting that if I do need Botox I can close my eyes - and think of ice cream, which I'm belatedly going to give up for Lent, or maybe chocolate.

It's helpful to know that cortisone injections can be painful as I can now fore-arm myself with paracetamol. Thank you. DDIL likens it to being harpooned Grin. DS or she insist they'll pick me up afterwards.

Time for bed soon, the decorator arrives dead early and likes to yatter on so better to disappear after 5 minutes whilst smiling and nodding.

bookbook · 19/02/2018 22:37

Evening all ..
just put my knitting down .
eek, needles near eyes Selena - though I wore contact lens for years, so used to poking my eyes . I hope it all goes well, and the cortisone injection too.
Willow - well, all the hard work did bring some reward at least - nice to put a bit away for the holidays :)
Chasing - it is hard , the sadness just goes round and round, so yes, you do need to protect yourself from that, hard as it is . DGS has always had a lap blanket for in the car - he gets ready for bed before going home on a night, and gets tucked in. But his legs are rather long now, and the blankets are small!
Horse -good to hear the work is going okay - any news on new manager?
MrsJones - the squares will be much appreciated. They come in all shapes and sizes, made with love is all that matters. Slightly small is better than too big .
Well, son in law has full blown CP - his head, scalp, chest are covered, and very sore , poor man. It is the very first time I can remember in the years I have known him when he hasn't eaten much of his meal , so I know he is truly feeling dreadful .
well, time for bed
sleep well everyone

Chasingsquirrels · 20/02/2018 07:47

Glad work is a bit better horse, it makes life so much better.

Poor SIL book, hope it runs it's course quickly and doesn't spread to others!

Fell asleep on the sofa last night (been doing a lot of that recently - obviously not getting enough sleep with the early Charlie mornings.
Went to bed at 12.30 and then at 1.30am he just started barking and I had to get get up and settle him. I think he misses having seen the boys on the days they aren't here.
Up at 7am with him this morning and have washed the kitchen floor. Just need to feed the hens now then get ready for work.

Miserable wet drizzly day again today - I much prefer dry and cold!
