Is it worth popping it into a big machine at a launderette and then through a drier?

Hope you got hold of the LL about it now!?

Hmmm leaving the chat for half term. DS was horrid straight after school, but better now. sigh

Willow2017 · 06/02/2018 20:29

Evening all.

Snow almost gone! But very cold. Plumber coming tomorrow.

Cake dont have a laundret anymore even one in town closed down. I am stuck with it😀

Chasingsquirrels · 06/02/2018 20:59

Have you got any electric heaters Willow, must be freezing.

Lovely day here, home by 1.45pm - lunch and fed Charlie then took him for a walk.
Then had a clue of hours cutting back and clearing in the garden and quite enthused to do more so hoping the weather stays dry. Wasn't quite do impressed by the squishy cat poo I put my hand into when I was scooping up leaves!

Squirrels have an oil filled small radiator type its in bathroom for ds to have showers tonight. They never feel the cold though always too hot! Fire downstairs is one of those 'new' fake fires that blows hot air. Will survive. I have electric blanket which i can leave on all night but even at first setting it gets too hot at some point but have lovely patchwork counterpane over duvet so if i stay under i am fine 😁😁
Ugg to cat pooh..very annoying when you are digging too.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 06/02/2018 21:25

Ah, hope they can sort it tomorrow. We have 2 launderettes in town!

Eeeew Squirrel that sucks!

DD had a glowing report from her teacher. Off to bed soon! Wednesday tomorrow Smile

Horsemad · 06/02/2018 22:01

Bleuurrggh at cat poo!

That's one thing my cat doesn't do - she will only poo in her tray - comes in to poo that one! Confused

We've had a bit of snow today but only a dusting.
I hope you manage to keep warm Willow. Will keep my fingers crossed the plumber sorts it.

Well done to your DD Cake, always nice to get a good report ☺️

Willow2017 · 07/02/2018 10:34

Morning all.
Very cold and a bit frosty this morning but sun now out and i have put wash out on line in hopes that i can get more washed and dried today.
No Plumber yet wish tbey would hurry up! Going to aak about shower its on its last legs i fear (Ll will be pleased) thought it wasnt going to work this am making a noise and going off and on but got there in the end. Not as hot as it should be either. Just one more thing, ll is already having to replace fan/light over shower.

Fingers crossed ir all gets sorted and thats the end of things going wrong😁

Horsemad · 07/02/2018 11:03

Beautiful day here, friend calling over later, so need to tidy up!

NotAChristmasCakePop · 07/02/2018 12:15

Hello

I've done my mad tidy and contract is signed. Now just waiting for the money/deposit to hit my bank as I have plans on spending it Wink

Was very cold this morning but a lovely clear sky, so will be nipping out for some fresh air in a bit.

Hope the plumber has shown now Willow and that you have a good time with your friend Horse

Chasingsquirrels · 07/02/2018 14:19

Into work early and left the boys to sort themselves (which they do anyway) and Charlie as I had a meeting I needed to prep for. He seemed okay when I got home.
Will be doing the same tomorrow as going to a seminar.

If I was any good at getting up in the morning then working 8am - 1pm would be the way to go!

Just had lunch and fed Charlie and about to take him out for a walk, then might do a bit more in the garden as it's lovely - cold but bright and crisp. Although the car and the kitchen floor both need washing!

Ds1 at DofE training after school so need to pick him up at 4.15pm then puppy training tonight.

Have an excess of eggs (24!) so might make frittata for tea.

I usually go in for 7.30 am as I like to get in before the phones start ringing, so I can work without interruption!
The only problem is, I never leave on time, I'm always finding extra stuff to do.

Willow2017 · 07/02/2018 16:59

Plumbers been found problem its ok for now but he is gwtting replacement parts to sort it properly. Also had him look at shower and its knackered. He was going to mention it to ll and get him to check the cable to see if he could put slightly more powerful shower in.
Glad its all done and dusted Cake.
Squirrels busy day!
Tea in oven, tkd tonight. Washing dried better than expected on the line just needs finishing off. But still a pile of wet stuff to dry. Cant put stuff back in airing cupboard just in case!
Call from surgery to see gp re xray results....first time i can see them that i am not working is next month!

Chasingsquirrels · 07/02/2018 17:38

That's a long wait for your appointment Willow.

Ended up watching the end of Moving On (I think that's what it's called, BBC one off dramas) which I'd started watching while eating lunch.
Then took Charlie out, met ds2 coming off the bus and he then took Charlie out again with a friend so I washed the kitchen floor.

OP posts:
NotAChristmasCakePop · 07/02/2018 20:31

Hello. Gosh that's a long wait Willow

Sounds like a good day Squirrel cars hardly ever need a wash Wink

I'm shattered and with a sore throat. Hoping an early-ish night will do the trick as tomorrow it's drama for one and school disco for the other - both at the same time in different places! And DS has already told me that he won't be eating what I'm planning for tea! Angry He can starve then!

Hope book is having a great time.

horse I used to go in for half hour before official start to get stuff done too! Are they looking to get you some help? Can't go on like that!

Night all x

Willow2017 · 07/02/2018 20:51

Found out (forgot as its in my diary) kids are off on friday for inservice day...and not back till wed! Oh well at least I can have a proper long lie on friday - no school, no work (well unless I am still cm'ing pm) yeah!!!!
Maybe I can persuade ds2 to chum me to the hospital for a bit of company on monday?

Wash the car? Erm are you supposed to do that? Isnt it bad for them or something Grin

Cake hope the sore throat clears up pdq.

Nearly froze to death in car at tkd. I could go in and wait but I dont think I could block out the noise in there to read my book, not like the cafe noise at all. Waiting for 'Girlfriends' to come on, bet they leave us hanging, I am sure I heard in passing its the last one of the series.

Chasingsquirrels · 07/02/2018 21:02

Ours are off Friday too Willow, and next week as it's half term. Yay.

My top lip is a mess of coldsores Sad

OP posts:
Chasingsquirrels · 07/02/2018 21:04

Hope you've got your early night cake and feel better in the morning.

Don't think I could be getting into work for 7.30am everyday horse

Willow2017 · 07/02/2018 21:14

Horse think you need to cut yourself some slack and stop finding work to do. I am sure you will get no thanks at the end of the day. Be good to yourself.

Horsemad · 07/02/2018 22:59

You're probably right Willow!

NotAChristmasCakePop · 08/02/2018 06:59

Morning. I do feel better today. And I can take things at my own pace between 9 and 3.

Oh no Squirrels that is your body showing all the work stress I'd imagine. DH always gets a cold around half term/holidays as his body realises it can stop a bit.

Our schools never have random inset days. They're always tagged onto July and September.

Horsemad · 08/02/2018 07:23

Morning Cake glad to hear you feel better Smile

Is it half term next week? I am out of touch now the DC have left school.

Hope the coldsores aren't too painful chasing, as Cake says, you are probably run down?
Time to chill and recharge Smile How is your MIL doing?

I haven't looked outside yet but it's cold! The heating is on and I'm snuggled in bed! Day off (it's my birthday Wink) DS1 is taking me to lunch and then I'm off out this evening with DH.

Willow2017 · 08/02/2018 08:20

Morning all!
Just a quick pop in - have read all your posts :)
Horse - Happy Birthday!
Going out soon- after lots of gentle days walking and relaxing, we are off to visit the North. Not sure if the weather is good enough for Puerto de la Cruz, as its forecast cold and wind, so it will probably turn into a visit to Santa Cruz instead, for a bit of window shopping ( and maybe some real shopping too !)
Take care everyone
here is a pic of Teide - taken on Monday on a very warm walk along the coast - it nearly always has snow on, as its so high!

Book thats not too dissimilar to the view i have😀 still have snow on the hills (not as big as your mountain though😉)

Frantic morning already. Ds1 just wasnt getting up then on way to school remembered he had a form for his theatre trip (teacher should have given them out weeks ago but only realised yesterday they hadnt) cue frantic root through his bag to find it and me sitting in car filling it in then having to hand it in for him as he had to go or be late! Arghhgg.

My work friends sister is doing the cake😀 she comes back from visiting her at silly o clock in morning so will drop it off at 7am on his birthday. I have tried to say i will pick it up but she us insisting he has it for when he gets up! I dont know where she gets her energy from she never stops and has a baby too. Will need to think of a nice thank you for her.

Talking of ds1 i meant to tell you my unexpected lovely pm the other night. Its not much in the grand scheme of things but it was to me. Was watching tv and when my prog finished i thought there wouldn't be anything else on when i noticed 'Silence of the lambs' was on so started to watch it. Half way through ds1 came down for cuppa as couldnt sleep and started to watch it with me! I was a bit worried about the gory bits but he said he had already seen a lot on 'top film' lists! Chatted about the characters so he understood it better and laughed at his reaction to the big 'reveal/twist' in plot. It was just an unexpected nice time. I went to bed and grinned like a maniac for ages (dr lectar would be proud) (might even had something in my eye) just a small reminder that my lovely boy is still there under the teen monster.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 08/02/2018 11:10

Happy birthday Horse - that sounds like the best way to spend the day.

Enjoy the day out book

Aaaaw, Willow that sounds lovely!
