Ha ha Selena i am the same with bedding. Put some out last year but still seem to have too much! Its hard to put things out when they are perfectly servicable😁 will need to get more once i get round to deciding on beds for ds's though so can have a clear out of thier sheets then.

Have bern trying to clean oven. Need to get the heavy duty stuff i think! Have used oven cleaner twice and still stained! And dont mention the glass! Done that twice too
Will need to see the instructions for taking it out and do it again when i have time and energy next week. Not doing it before work thats for sure😀

NotAChristmasCakePop · 04/02/2018 07:25

Morning all

DS and I slept till nearly 7! Could get used to this. Cold out but dry for the day so can get much needed fresh air and pot up the bulbs that I bought in the week.

Hope you have a wonderful trip Selena

Are you off today Willow? That oven cleaning job is why I have DH around Blush

Hope you're all good Squirrel and that Charlie let you have a lie in too. Poor MIL, how old is she?

Wonder when book is joining us back in the deep freeze Grin

Willow2017 · 04/02/2018 10:40

Morning. 7 am is not a lie in in my book Cake
Yes am working today ling shift. Cant say i am looking forward to it but fingers crossed.
Suns out but has been raining through the night.

I havent bought any bulbs this year. Ll want to redo the garden so not buying stuff to be dug up!

How is mil Squirrels?

bookbook · 04/02/2018 10:51

Morning all!
Selena ah, tomorrow you go ! Have a good trip ( as long as your cat lets you get your bag packed)
Willow - hope something comes from that job fair thingy - you never know ! I clean my oven by soaking everything in soda crystals dissolved in boiling water, the going away and leaving the water to cool down. Most stuff then just wipes off. Still need to clean inside mind
Chasing - hope all is well, and your MIL recovers after the fall
Horse - that is your body telling you to rest, so take note!
Cake - a lovely granny square and an ( almost) sleep in!
I have another week yet here - fly back next Saturday
Our walk yesterday - it is all uphill and down dale , steep dips and bumps. A good cardiac workout ( maybe not as good as Selenas spinning though :)) it's a different , slightly higher way on the roads above the beaches and coast walk , a bit too much pavement maybe but worth it for a nice view at the top of the hill :)

Two weeks in the sun! ☀️You lucky thing. Done everything bar the roast so reckon I have an hour to make a start on my next square. Have ordered Stylecraft for Chernobyl hugs too!

Chasingsquirrels · 04/02/2018 16:27

Great pic book, sounds like you are having a lovely relaxing time.

MIL is 84, had a hip replacement just before Christmas after a fall and had been back home a couple of weeks with 4 times a day carers coming. She is back in hospital after falling again on Tuesday, not as serious but her blood sugar levels (she is diabetic) were very low and they ate trying to stabilise them.

Ds2 and I took Charlie out this morning then I've taken him and a friend to their hockey tournament this afternoon and popped to Aldi which they were there then back to watch a couple of matches. Home, unpacked and off to my mum's for tea shortly - my dad is in South Africa for a couple of weeks visiting his brother.

MIL bit of a worry then squirrels?
book, another week in warm weather, lucky you. Think highest temperature for me in Harz Mountains is 5, looks overcast and wet, bit of snow, too Sad. However first week looks sunny - and very cold!
Willow, I am trying to be good Halo and wiping out new oven after every use. Note the word trying as suddenly realised haven't been doing that at all.

Got petrol, went to tip, bloke picked up train layout, online check in (on phone, oooh heck), went for prom therapy, met DS and DIL for late lunch, shopped in Aldi for frozen food for return, took key to neighbour, now feet up, book, hot choc - and wondering what I've forgotten!

NotAChristmasCakePop · 04/02/2018 18:35

Have you packed the cat?! Grin

Oh that is worrying Squirrel does she have one of those panic thingies in case she falls in between or in the night?

What a busy day here. I've finished my Woolly hug square so I can post it while in town tomorrow. Who would have thought....now I just need to go find the pattern that DD wants for hand warmer thingies.

Horse I hope your day was a bit more productive (only if you wanted it to be) and are you going to crochet???? They are looking for lots of squares at the moment Wink

Catch you all on the Monday. Busy week ahead here... Hope you survived your shift in one piece Willow

Horsemad · 04/02/2018 19:48

Busy day Cake, will be in bed early tonight I think!

I thought I had a crochet hook but haven't found it, so will try and pick one up later this week. I'm not sure my knitting/crocheting skills will be good enough though! Haven't done any knitting for years...

Selena, have a lovely break Smile book I love your pictures, and hope you are having a relaxing time Smile

Chasing, your poor MIL Sad how is she in herself?

Willow, hope work went well for you today.

Willow2017 · 04/02/2018 20:50

Work went like a fair.

Home to usual mess.

Selena how did you fit all that into the day? Have a safe trip and l8vely holiday. Hope its not too cold.
Squirrels hope mil is sorted out soon re diabetes. Its a worry.
Book another week lucky you.
Cake you have turned onto a crochet fiend😁😁

NotAChristmasCakePop · 05/02/2018 06:44

Hello, DS slept till 6:15 so why was I up from 5:30?

Horse and willow a plain square is surprisingly easy. Glad work was OK.

Safe journey for Selena Hard frost here!

Thank you everyone. Just done last minute stuff, keep checking frantically that have glasses, sunglasses, passport etc for the 50th time.

Look after yourselves, everyone. Not taking tablet, just phone, so may or may not keep you posted re cake, ice cream etc.

Chasingsquirrels · 05/02/2018 17:56

SOOOO nice to have the work stress of the last few months over.
The office is quiet as well as the audit season has started and a lot of the juniors are out.
Did 4 hours then home, fed Charlie and had soup for lunch then took him for a walk. Out for an hour to see a client and now making chicken, peppers, tomatoes & onions for tea. Not quite a v low calorie day as I've had a few fruit pastilles! But still less than 700 I think.
Friend called in with ds1's archery bag (her son goes as well and it saves ds1 taking it to his dad's tonight then begin to school tomorrow to get it home) so had a bit of a catch up.
I'm feeling pretty lonely, life is finding it's new normal and it's all okay - except I miss having someone to share it with.
Not sure where to go with that, online dating maybe, asking friends if they have friends? Or the finding hobbies for myself - which brings me back to actually being quite content with what my life is. Hmm.

Willow2017 · 05/02/2018 19:43

Arghhhh wheres my post gone?

Willow2017 · 05/02/2018 19:54

Try again

Very frosty this morning everything white and frozen. Couldnt open my bin! Looked lovely though. But got into town to fog!
Shopping and coffee and escape into my book.
Baking this afternoon. Lemon traybake which turned out to be a fluffy lemon cake in traybake form😀 with lemon icing. Very nice though. And cherry scones.

Squirrels you need to do whatever works for you. There isnt any rush. Somethings may suit you some wont just play it by ear. Being content for now is fine too. There isnt a timetable you have to do things by, only what you think suits you and when it suits you.

Chasingsquirrels · 05/02/2018 20:12

Lemon cake sounds lush willow.
Cold here as well, but I'd put my car in the garage last night so didn't have to defrost it.

I know there is no rush, and to take it at my pace - I think that's what I have been doing, initially I wanted to rush forward, then I realised I just needed time and space.
The last few months I've been feeling much more engaged with life, Charlie has definitely helped with that.
I just miss sharing things.

Picture of Charlie lying on the beanbag next to my sofa.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 05/02/2018 21:06

Wow, he's got big!

I guess that time will tell and all that - what ever feels right for you.

Hmmm cake Blush

Mostly good here x

Willow2017 · 05/02/2018 22:06

OMG..
Bloody boiler us leaking again. I suspect water pressure high. Good job ds1 noticed puddle forming on landing and into his room. Half stuff in airing cupboard soaking so now have large trug overflowing with wet towels sheets and duvet covers. Ll has no light on so must be away to bed. Arghhhgg. So no heating upstairs tonight except little heater which is currently hopefully drying out airing cupboard.
Life is out to get me!

Chasingsquirrels · 05/02/2018 22:22

Oh what a pain willow

OP posts:
Horsemad · 05/02/2018 23:51

Lovely pic of Charlie chasing Smile

Hope you get the boiler sorted Willow, that's the last thing you need in this weather!

Have a great trip Selena!

Cake - what size crochet hook do I need? I will try and get one this week.

Willow2017 · 06/02/2018 07:47

Morning all. Well just making a cuppa to warm up and glanced towards kitchen window...shocked to see car covered in inches of snow! Still snowing. Kids disapointed no text from school about it being shut as last time there was no heating on and they were freezing.

I suppose its too late to close now but i suspect some kids wont make it from outlying areas.

Hope your weather is better for your journey Selena.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 06/02/2018 11:44

Horse, you're asking me like I'm an expert Grin I have a 4mm hook but it states on the yarn what hook you will need for that thickness/type. All the woolly hugs are 4mm and specific yarn so that they will all go together, but obviously you don't have to crochet for that (just mentioning it for practicality).

Oh my Willow WTF is it with your luck? Maybe you need a priest in with holy water Wink Hope you guys didn't freeze and that you have time to deal with the extra washing.

Squirrels I hope you are enjoying the quieter week and that you, the boys, dog and chickens are all good.

I'm feeling down in the dumps about how my children speak to me/treat me (again) feel like cancelling all their nice little extras ATM. Thank goodness it's half term next week. Hoping to have a chat with madam especially as she should be old enough to realise it's a bit of give and take in a family grrrrr

Willow2017 · 06/02/2018 13:42

*Cake it will take a week to get through it all on top of regular washing especially with no heating! I am not a happy bunny.

Good luck with the 'talk' it lasts about 6 hrs in this house😀
