Up at 7.30 but needed to get on as I'm off food shopping in a bit and wanted to wash the fridge out before I go!

Really icy here, cars totally frozen over.

Safe journey book, have a great holiday Smile

Meant to say cakes - love the name Mr Pickles! Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 21/01/2018 08:32

Awake at 6am with Charlie, but that too early for me so outside for a quick wee then we snuggled up in the lounge till nearly 8am.

I've said he's not allowed on the sofa (I'd actually be happy with him cuddled up with me on my terms - but that's not all the time and it's not fair to be inconsistent) so snuggles have to happen on his level. We curl up together on ds1's beanbag with a couple of duvets and sleep.

Cleaning the fridge willow, and this early! I think my fridge gets cleaned about once a year!

Not a bad night for you cake, have a relaxing day.

Missing the roadworks sounds a good idea selena.

Happy holidays book.

Hope you are having a good weekend horse.

Ds2 has hockey this morning but his friends dad takes them so I just need to make sure he is ready.
Will take Charlie for a walk, cold and crisp here.
Need to pop to town and get ds2 a birthday card and something for my dad's birthday a few days after.
Then parents for tea and the weekend's over and it will be back to another full on week.

Ds2's hockey is cancelled as the pitch is frozen so maybe we well all take Charlie out.

Morning all.
Safe journey Book have a ball.

This is getting ridiculous! Woken up by pain in my foot just in front of big toe feels like its bern hit by a hammer. What the heck caused that?

Horse cleaning the fridge at that time you are keen!
Squirrels Charlie is up too early too😀 good you can snuggle up and sleep after.

Work later dreading first 4 hours tbh then its ok.

Very frosty again.

Have a good day all.

Willow2017 · 21/01/2018 09:10

Oh meant to add Cake thats a good night for ds. Hope he continues to improve.

Chasingsquirrels · 21/01/2018 12:16

Ds1 went to his girlfriend's and I'm picking him up on the way to my parents later.
Ds2 and I just took Charlie out, its snowing lightly and I'm now defrosting!

Hello, the day has flown by in lots of boring things.... we did go to the garden centre for a nice drink/snack, DS had a little play in the soft play and we bought some fish.

Other than that it's been washing, prepping the roast, cleaning, putting things in the oven at the right time (where I'm at now) and after tea cleaning the kitchen. Have a lady coming round in the morning, but there's never time for cleaning 1st thing is there?

I have half an hour from the buzzer going in a moment before anything else needs doing, so I'm going to start my square with proper wool. If it looks totally pants, I will probably get some knitting needles as I think I stand a better chance with those, but will keep trying the crochet too.

Hope you've all had a good day.

Willow maybe you should look into a head transplant Wink where they put your head on a different body Grin In all seriousness, I hope that you get some respite soon. Done any job hunting?

Squirrels glad to hear that your day didn't start too early. Hope you all have a nice meal at your mum's. We had snow this morning, but nothing that settled.

I admire your work ethic horse my fridge is as forgotten about as my oven Blush Never time or energy for any more than the basics!

Hope you've had a good day too Selena whatever clearing/sorting or not you did.

bookbook · 21/01/2018 17:20

Afternoon from very sunny Tenerife.
I have read all your posts :)
It was -3º when we set off this morning, and DD tells me it is snowing at hers. Very easy journey I am gald to say - left on time, arrived a little early!
Cake - good the hear DS got a sleep in - good look with the lady tomorrow
Chasing - it sounds lovely snuggled up on a bean bag with Charlie - better than a hot water bottle in fact! Just need to get him not waking up so early ...
Horse - you are so like me- I like a nice clean fridge before a load of stuff goes in
Selena - it's a shame they don't publicise the Vit D thing more - OTC tablets are not expensive as a preventative.
Willow - hope the work isn't too bad today -, and the foot recovers.
Right - so here is a bit of sun for you all - views out of the back ( blue building) and views out of the front (the sea) hope it wafts over you all :)

Hola! Looks nice and warm book! Grin

Cold and snowy/sleety rain here most of the day; meant to be 7° tomorrow, hurrah! Don't know where you flew from but I heard East Midlands was shut for a while today due to the weather Shock

Have a lovely time!

SelenaValentina · 21/01/2018 18:10

Oh book. looks gorgeous. Repeat after me everyone 'We are not jealous' - much!

Here we had snow for all of 30 mins - so I rushed off to get petrol 'Just in case', as off to funeral 30 miles away on Tuesday. Then my usual prom therapy during fine break, so lucky, but didn't last long enough. Since then, rain, cold and depressing for rest of day, so I've done s-- all, really. One of cats on my knee so I couldn't disturb her Blush.

Hope day's got better, gone well, or at least survived intact.

Somerville · 21/01/2018 18:15

Hello all! (if you remember me Blush)

Juggling return to work and 4 kids (sometimes actually literally!) got a bit manic, so I haven't been on MN much in ages. Keep wondering how you're all doing, so I was pleased to just find this thread. Glad all well-ish.

Xxx

NotAChristmasCakePop · 21/01/2018 18:16

Looks lovely!

I have done the first round of the square, pulled it out, started again, pulled it out. Hmmm, clearly not in the right frame of mind.

Lady also text me at 5pm to say can they come Tuesday instead FFS! Angry

Also meant to warm here tomorrow (9)

Horsemad · 21/01/2018 18:27

Are you crocheting or knitting cake? If you knit are you doing a plain square or working from a pattern?

NotAChristmasCakePop · 21/01/2018 20:23

Trying to crochet as per my "new years resolution" but I will have another go. I'm doing it with the aid of a good YouTube tutorial. Just need to get my head around it...otherwise I will get knitting needles Grin

Willow2017 · 21/01/2018 22:20

Evening all.
Usual craziness at work its past a joke but kbo.
Quiet.later as road closed due to accident so cleaning early and keeping busy!

Book looks lovely remenber to bring the sun home with you..

Snowed heavily for a couple of hours but melting after it stopped. the roads by time i left work were almosr clear. Kids disapointed 😀

Cake take a break for a few days you might find fresh eyes does the trick. Good luck for tues.

Horse just glanced in my fridge....it needs doing too😶 all your fault😉 veg boxes get done regularly just not the rest.

Apparently new hoover not sucking need to do filter (ds1 was doing it while i was at work) and living room a pigsty! Typical. Another job to add to list.
Kids have dentist for thier check up tomorrow after school. Not sure what i make of him yet. Usually at my check up I just get a polish too but he went round telling hygienist where all my fillings were etc and i thought don't you have all this info on my computer record anyway? And made 2 appoints for scales and polishes! Hope kids dont need anything. Think they have inherited thier dad's strong teeth thankfully not mine.

Somer nice to see you. Hope alls well, sounds like life keeping you very busy.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 22/01/2018 07:26

Morning, a decent sleep again, so back to normal.

Hope you get a rest at some point Willow

Lovely to see you Somer Can't believe baby is big enough that you have to go back - you only gave birth the other day! Shock Time flies too quickly. Hope you and Mr Lovely and all the children are well.

Have a good Monday all and I will check in later x

Somerville · 22/01/2018 08:17

I work from home mostly, Cake, so I started working again when he was 8 weeks, and I'm pretty much back to FT hours now - he's coming up on 5 months. I freelance and don't want to risk losing my clients by taking too long out; it was so hard building my business up when I suddenly couldn't rely on Dh1's income anymore - I don't want to risk ever leaving my kids so financially vulnerable again.
Or as DH2 puts it... I'm too stubborn!

SelenaValentina · 22/01/2018 09:39

Ha ha, Somer, join the club re 'stubborn', good to have you back on board.
Hope you get chance to chill, Willow
Grrr Cake. When I was learning to crochet, my German friend who was teaching me said, 'if in doubt, another loop, hook UNDER thread'. Don't know if that makes sense to you, but it helped me (who is not arty-crafty AT ALL!).

Fine so far, even patches of blue and not freezing, so off out for walk. Enjoy the day everyone.

Willow2017 · 22/01/2018 10:04

Morning all. Had bloods done now having breakfast and going to attack house starting upstairs...wish me luck its like a squat up there!

Somer gosh 8 weeks you are stubborn😀 i am too tbh it comes in handy sometimes.

Selena no rest for the wicked here.

Have a good day all.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 22/01/2018 12:37

I think that strong/stubborn is the quality that have seen you all through hard times. Nothing to be apologetic about.

That all makes sense Somer I hope that you are coping with it all.

Hope you're OK Willow I always bruise regardless how good they are at taking bloods.

Hope you had a good walk Selena

Wonder what book is up to? Hope she's got a cocktail and sitting on the beach Wink

Willow2017 · 22/01/2018 13:16

Am done! Well all i am doing for now. Have a pile of stuff to go in attic but will send ds2 up as my knee wont like crawling over beams😀
Have had windows wide open for hours to air place and get rid of condensation/damp ( didnt think the new d glazing would get condensation but i suppose the washing doesn't help.) Had dehumidifier on in my wardrobe as one corner still gets damp despite gutters being fixed over a year ago. Radiators on to dry some clothes and airers full. its just a never ending circle 😀

Btw different nurse no bruise!

Need to go to Morrisons for stuff after dentist so will just get tea there. Lazy mum😀

bookbook · 22/01/2018 18:00

Hola! everyone
Lovely to see you Somer - no time to breathe I suspect .... :)
First day out and about - just a trip to a lovely harbour up the coast , tapas for lunch in the sun and a little look around, getting acclimatised to the heat.
Cake - nope, no beach involved , not a sunbather at all - I'm the one with the long skirt, linen blouse, hat on type ( and I would get incredibly bored too)
Just having a half an hour sit down in the cool now - feet up, and crochet :)

Chasingsquirrels · 22/01/2018 19:24

Good to hear from you Somer and to catch up with everyone else's news.
Busy day at work, Aldi on the way home, chicken, roasted peppers, tomatoes & onions for tea and the raspberry smoothie lolly - definitely under the 500 calories today ☺.
Lazy evening watching tv cuddled upbwoth Charlie.
