Willow, maybe try and tackle him when his dad is around to stand firm with you?

Hope you are all on the road to recovery Cake. Glad you were able to catch up with Juan, what breed of puppy have they gone for?

Not long now book ☺️ bet it'll be warmer than here, that's for sure!

chasing, has Charlie been more enthusiastic about going out? Can't blame him in this weather! My cat dashes out for 5 mins then dashes back in! 😁

I had a good sleep last night; didn't want to get up this morning, woke up and thought it was Saturday - nearly turned the alarm off to snuggle down again! Shock

SelenaValentina · 19/01/2018 20:47

Oh I hate that Horse - but at least tomorrow will be Saturday so be like a gift day!

It's being so daft as keeps me going Confused

Brew, Cake, Wine for you Willow. And everyone else.

Horsemad · 19/01/2018 21:02

Yeah I felt a bit fed up when I realised it was Friday and I had to go to work Selena Grin

bookbook · 19/01/2018 22:06

Evening all!

  • looks around wreckage of living room ....We have a Sylvanian house played with , furniture, families etc ( DGS loved it) - its going back with son in law, but still for some reason in a box here Hmm. Though he is very kindly driving us to the airport on Sunday morning, so will live with it until then :) Sorry to disappoint you all - I actually made a dozen lemon drizzle muffins. There are 7 of us , so 1 each after our meal. Then the other 5 snaffled to take home for tomorrow -one each (DH does grumble, but he is the one that says not to make them , as he will only eat them! ) I have been sat for an hour with some crochet to relax . Cake - sounds positive that DS has (fingers crossed) got over the bug , and hope you get a good nights sleep Willow - you have such a hard job. Being a lone parent always seems to mean that you have to be the 'bad cop' . Not fair is it , and then you have to deal with all that is thrown at you too . Horse - that is just the worst , waking up like that. Extra snuggle in the morning though - cold again I think . Selena - bed buying is such a nightmare, throws up more questions than answers ! I didn't know you couldn't put mattresses into a skip .... Chasing - I forgot totally to ask - when you went on the cruise to the Caribbean , did you stop at lots of places? I heard it was a bit iffy going about in some of the towns . And what was the heat like ? Well, I'm ready for a cup of cocoa and bed . Sleep well all Thoughts and Prayers
Willow2017 · 19/01/2018 22:45

All calm at the minute .😀 very subdued and nice to me.
Ds1 plays online with a famous you tuber and asked if he asked if Ds could play on his live stream tonight one last time as his original 'famous' name so i relented.
He is keeping all his stuff for him which is nice of him.

Sent a snippy message to steam about the money gone missing again as most of it is not in ds1s purchase history so obviously someone is taking it. I told them to look themselves i dont have time to copy and print all the purchases for them this time. Was very cathartic 😀😀😀

Cake hope thats the bugs gone snd you all get a good nights sleep.

Horse thats horrible when it happens i had to think twice what day it was thus morning as was knocked off with kids being off school.
At least tomorrow you can snuggle in i have to get up for swimming.😣

Book how cruel to taunt us and not deliver the goods😉

Thanks for all the hugs and 'goodies'.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/01/2018 23:20

cake* hope you both get a good night and he is over it now.

book, sound like a fun time with family and lemon drizzle cakes sound yum.
We just stayed in resorts in the Caribbean (St Lucia once and Antigua twice), not a cruise.
I think the islands are generally pretty safe - although different to here, but then I loved in Port Not sent, Papua New Guinea for a couple of years on the late 90's and most places would seem pretty safe in comparison!

Oh Willow you have had a day of it, just hugs x

Hope you have a better night horse.

Sounds like you are getting on with the sorting Selena, more than I am!

Long day at work (and I don't work Fridays!), then running the kids around later afternoon / early evening.
After that snuggled down on the sofa and watched some tv.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 20/01/2018 05:04

Good morning, though I hope I'm the only one awake. We slept soundly till nearly 4am when he asked to get up. had lots of little drinks and 2 tiny crackers and zonked out for a bit on the sofa again.

Hope you all get a well deserved lie in, especially horse - cruel when that happens!

They got a little sausage (Dachshund) named Mr Pickles Grin

You working Willow or is that tomorrow? Hope things remain calm.

Sounds like a great evening book Might have to bake myself though tasking the boys with Welsh cakes while I go back to bed seems more enticing.

Have a good weekend all x

Horsemad · 20/01/2018 07:07

Was awake at 06.30 Hmm Never mind, at least it's the weekend!

NotAChristmasCakePop · 20/01/2018 07:42

Hope you're at least enjoying not having to rush around/get ready.

Two slices of toast down, whoohoo. He's asking to go out Hmm

Willow2017 · 20/01/2018 09:16

Morning.
Cake oh thats too early! Hopefully now on the mend.

Horse isnt that always the way looking forward to a lie in and you wake esrly.

Made it to swimming. Very frosty took an age to defrost car i was frozen!

Going to town after with ds2 for coffee and my croissant. Got pile of washing to hang up when go home. It takes ages to dry indoors 😕 going to try rearranging chair and sofa. Decided the armchair is better for my back but its furthest from fire next to door upstairs and kids never remember to push it closed and i get a draft! Wish i could rearrange whole room its not ideal but computer desk has to be where it is as using extention cable for internet weakens it. Argh must check thar lottery ticket😉

Am in total quandry about ds1 because he spoke to this friend of his in usa for ages on pc and phone last night. I really dont want to atop that so hopefully can set up.the account with no payment methods on it. As long as they dont get greedy and insist he pays x amount to get his stuff back or something.

Have a good one folks treat yourselves to a duvet day Cake & Horse.

Chasingsquirrels · 20/01/2018 09:49

On the mend cake ☺.
Grr at early waking horse.

Charlie woke around 5.30am (normal I think, mostly he settled again) and I ignored him but it woke me and then in think we both dozed (I'm in bed above the kitchen where he sleeps) until just before 7am which is my new getting up time it seems!
Fed and toileted him, fed and mucked out the hens, played with Charlie and then cuddled up together and he slept while I read.
Meant to be meeting a friend for a dog walk but it's raining and she cancelled so I'm going to finish my book.
No real plans for the day and boys back this evening.

No ideas with ds1 willow, it's so tough as they are getting to young adult stage and need to start to make their own way and everything that entails, but equally they are so young and school pressures demand a lot which the lure of electronics distracts them from.

Morning all!
very grey/misty and cold here. Just slobbing around doing crochet, just waiting until DH thinks it is warm enough to go for a walk to the shops for some fresh air. Everything is sorted, bags packed. Just need to work magic for lunch with one egg, lardons and cheese ( trying to use up the odds and ends ) - welsh rarebit anyone?
Horse - that really is how it works, isn't it grrr - but more time to enjoy not going to work I guess
Cake 5 o clock Shock - you poor thing.
( Did I say - Thursday DGS went to the Irish dance class - he loved it ( and was the only boy there) - he came out exhausted, and virtually fell asleep in his tea )
Chasing - agh , I had cruises on the brain , and joined it up with what you wrote! I think it may be too hot for me in truth, but it crossed our minds. I would much rather go to see the fall in New England for preference, but thats cold for DH ....
Willow - I love moving furniture around - I used to have a pad with graph paper, and dream of how I could improve things. Haven't moved things round for ages ...... Hope you get sorted with DS ( I'm assuming Whatsapp isn't sufficient for chatting etc?)
Right - it looks as if we are off out!
Have a good day everyone

Chasingsquirrels · 20/01/2018 10:48

Oh I forgot the temperatures book, we went mid-Feb and it was hot - lounging on the beach/round the pool, dipping into the sea/pool to cool off type hot. We loved it. Wish he was here and we were looking forward to going in a few weeks Sad.

(And my previous post SHOULD have said "I lived in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea", I clearly didn't proof read that!)

Back from shopping. You wouldnt think it was so hard to get a nice card for a 13yr old! They are all either horrid twisted faces, animals or too babyish or laddish. So many for everyone else just not boys. Spent so long on that didnt have time for myself. I wanted to get a zip up sweatshirt for work for ease getting off and on. Oh well next time !
Have to go back to surgery on monday for more bloods. Apparently folic acid is very low. Prob cos i am not eating as many veg these days, need to get myself organised at mealtimes😀

Having a cuppa then will attack kitchen. I burned the bottom of the steamer last night! Its comming off but left it soaking. Then the never ending washing.

Have a nice walk Book i am very jealous of your trip. Sun has finally came out here was very cloudy and frosty first thing. Dont know if its warm enough to put washing out though it tends just to hang there in this weather.

Chasingsquirrels · 20/01/2018 13:47

Boys are hard to get appropriate cards for willow. I tend to just get the 10 for £1 or whatever the offer is and kee them in stock.
Which makes me remember I need a card for ds2 for next Saturday!

Hello all

He's in the grumpy nothing is right stage...

Horse I hope that you get sorted quickly. You can always get some Pregnacare Grin

Sending you a hug Squirrel

Enjoy the last bit of time book

Horsemad · 20/01/2018 16:51

Shock Did you mean me or Willow Cake?! Grin

I am busy tidying the 'Man Drawer' in the kitchen - found all sorts of rubbish in there... Hmm I have enlisted DH to help, as it's mainly his crap in there! Grin

NotAChristmasCakePop · 20/01/2018 17:30

Whoops, sorry - it's the sleep deprivation - honest guv Grin but obviously for the folic acid either way round. Not making any insinuations Wink

Just to seal the deal, I have my period so thing another early night is in order.

Have a lovely holiday book Look forward to hearing about it.

I have done a practice square for Wooly Hugs and going to start a proper one tomorrow for Niffler who's husband passed away from cancer last year. book has already made a gorgeous one mine will have to be hidden somewhere

Have a good evening all!

Willow2017 · 20/01/2018 18:13

Cake i would look very suspicious going to boots for pregnacare😁😁
I take a multi vit/mineral but doesnt seem to be doing anything😀 (i take it you meant me)

bookbook · 20/01/2018 18:32

Evening all!
Just sat down with a cup of tea - the Kindle and phone are charging up - then its the laptop :)
would you like me to download a pic when I am there, or would that be rubbing salt into the wound?
Chasing - mmm that sounds very much like it would be too hot for me, but sounds idyllic, sorry to bring back the sadness ((hugs))
Cake - you must be on your knees. You are very kind about the square - but everything done with love and care has the same weight of importance :) I will do more when I get home, as I am only taking crochet with me - easier to do on the plane :)
Willow - I will just say- leafy greens!!!!! :) but I hope it gets sorted. btw - I managed to get a boys card from the supermarket ( Morrisons ) for our godson - they had a few with superheroes on - think Spiderman, Superman , Batman etc . I fell on them as they were not too 'silly' or over aggressive .
DH had to have his bloods taken , and went back to see doctor this week. His Vit D was through the floor. He knew from the last test, so he had started taking OTC tablets. Dr laughed at him - he is now on tablets 50x stronger, and it will still take up to 3 months to get him to somewhere reasonable it seems .
I hope everyone stays well - I will be reading posts whilst away , and thinking of you all xx

Chasingsquirrels · 20/01/2018 18:34

I hope you have a good flight book, and a lovely holiday x

Willow2017 · 20/01/2018 18:58

Book
Ohhh yes lots of photos so we can live vicariously through you and enjoy the sun Smile Have a fab time and lots of relaxing and doing whatever it is that floats your boat.

I will start to eat more veggies, used to have them with every dinner but not so much now. Kids only eat them raw so remembering to cook them for me is a pain.

Willow2017 · 20/01/2018 18:59

Oh and fingers crossed for DH's new tablets. So much for the claims of OTC vits then!

SelenaValentina · 20/01/2018 23:07

book, have a wonderful time and yes, photos please! Vit D is a weird one, isn't it? If not too low, then OTC help, but apparently most over 60's ARE too low but it would cost too much to prescribe the strong stuff as a preventative Confused. Anyway, the sun will help Smile.

Hope everyone and families feeling better/on the road to recovery. I've not done much - certainly no sorting today. Main road to gym being dug up/resurfaced in 2 places during the week, so I'll nobly Halo forego spinning to miss the no doubt horrific snarl ups Grin and get stuff done instead. Maybe.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 21/01/2018 06:58

Morning all. That was a normal night. He slept from 7:30-6 and there were no panic wakings.

Going to have a quietish day still, just making sure the house is clean and tidy and everything ready for the Monday.

I'm taking OTC Vit D, but it's interesting to hear book I'm sure a holiday in the sun will help, as will the prescribed ones.

Selena it sounds like a good plan to stay out of road works. We have lots here at the moment and it's such a pain.

Hope you get a decent lie in today horse

Check in later, have a good day.
