Argh its absolutely freezing tonight too cold for more snow but if it freezes am stumped !
Book thats exactly what i was thinking 😉

NotAChristmasCakePop · 17/01/2018 06:20

I get the feeling you're going nowhere Willow Sad

Hope everyone stays safe. Here it feels freezing, but no ice on the cars. Did see the gritters loading up yesterday.

Hugs to all. I'm feeling a bit snotty and PMSey and MIL is due to arrive at some point to leave her car and go off for 3 weeks Shock Hmm but I have no idea when she's arriving. Hopefully DH can give me a heads up - I was asleep by the time he got in from work!

Willow2017 · 17/01/2018 07:54

Think you are right Cake. All schools in the Borders are closed today! Dont know if the road to surgery will be ok. Will have to defrost car and check the street. It was bad enough last night but now its frozen will be a skating rink😀

Hope you feel better as day goes on.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 17/01/2018 11:09

Any minute now I think. I've been out with the boys and had a hot choc & muffin while they played.

House clean and tidy enough, so just need to make small talk for a bit.

Did you get out Willow?

Willow2017 · 17/01/2018 11:50

Got to surgery and had bloods done. Considering hosp as sun out but A1 closed near us don't know why but if its an accident on a clear road it makes me wonder about driving an hour on unknown conditions. Woose!

NotAChristmasCakePop · 17/01/2018 13:16

Best not to try it! Can you go next week? Is it an appointment or a go and wait thing?

MIL and DN been and gone phew need to get off my butt and prepare the cottage pie for tea...

Willow2017 · 17/01/2018 14:18

Well i made it😀 decided as roads seem to be clear most places to try. Dont know how long i will have to sit for. I hate that road tbh but neefs must. Got anothe txt from school all closed tomorrow again due to Amber warning. Hope get home before it happens😀

Horsemad · 17/01/2018 15:19

Just been watching the weather reports Willow Shock looks pretty bad up there, take care!

bookbook · 17/01/2018 15:26

Afternoon all!
Lovely here toady , sunshine, not too cold, a lovely white sprinkle over everything, but nothing serious at all
Had a brisk walk to and from my crafty club, and this afternoon caved in to DH wanting to get packing. So its mostly done, all is in weight, ( I even managed to squeeze in another ball of wool Grin ) Just need to add a few last minute things and its done.
Sat down now with a cup of coffee .
Cake - hope you manage to shake off the sniffles. Your MIL is a one, isn't she ....
Willow - gold medal for effort - it looks horrible up there, and it takes courage to drive in treacherous conditions . Hope you are not hanging around too long.

bookbook · 17/01/2018 15:26

toady? haha today

Willow2017 · 17/01/2018 16:33

Didnt have to wait long at all thankfully. Just back. Having a cuppa and tablet as sore after 2 hr round trip. But radiographer said that as one is a spinal xray they have to be seen by the head honcho so could be 3-4 weeks before my gp gets results!
Lot more snow further inland snow ploughs obviously been out saw a couple on the road too. Snow piled up high on roadside in places.

Ds2 been up the park with sledge back home freezing as he cant find his new gloves and thinks a half padded hoodie is a coat! Numpty.😀😀

TKD tonight, last thing i want to do is go out again but needs must.

Book sounds like a lovely morning. Have you left room in suitcase for our pressies? Chocs, cakes, wine etc😂😂

Cake sounds like mil didnt cause too much trouble hope so. I need to get tea on too, just having quiche for easiness.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 17/01/2018 18:41

Oh I'm so pleased you managed to get it done - especially if there will be a wait for results. Be careful out there.

Got away not too badly off - just 4 massive table mats laminated sheets with the planets on it left here for the children and her return in 2 weeks mid morning and she doesn't have a key...so I will have to be in.

Book I'm excited on your behalf with the holiday. Will live vicariously through you until July when we get to go to sunny Wales Hmm again.

Selentia I hope your body survived the walking in tact!
How are you all Squirrel? Hope that Charlie is letting you sleep a bit.
Hope you're all OK too horse and jane

Barring major disasters, I will be seeing Juan tomorrow. Will send all your love and good wishes.

Was asleep at 9 last night and feel like I could do it again!

Willow2017 · 17/01/2018 19:28

Just another day here!
Ds2 was propelled off sledge when he hit a bunp... Hand and arm angry red and scraped/snow burn. Tiny holes and bruises where sharp twigs spiked him! And sore leg on same side. He is just an accident waiting to happen😀 i thought he was just moaning till he showed me his arm😯
No TKD.

Cake why do you have to be in for her? Just say you are going out😉 whats with the 'placemats'? Did she make them?

NotAChristmasCakePop · 17/01/2018 20:55

No idea where they came from! I have her car keys...

Poor boy!

Sleep well all x

Chasingsquirrels · 17/01/2018 21:03

Poor ds2 willow, but at least you don't need to do the TKW run now. Good that you managed to have all the tests and fingers crossed for it coming back earlier and some kind of treatment plan getting sorted.

At least the MIL visit is done cake and hopefully it will just be a quick key pick up when she returns?

Exciting book, John and I went to the Caribbean in Feburary a few times, without the boys - never been away in winter before and just loved it.

Ds1 not feeling well and off school today. Have to see how he is tomorrow.
I worked till nearly 4pm, came home, walked Charlie, emptied washing machine, went to puppy classes with ds2 & Charlie, came home, made tea and now just relaxing!

OP posts:
Willow2017 · 17/01/2018 21:56

Squirrels
Hope ds1 is better by tomorrow.

Havent done much this pm. Watching tv havent even done dishes yet! Tsk tsk.

SelenaValentina · 17/01/2018 22:11

Love to Juan, cake. MIL sounds a case!
Gosh, Willow, what a day! Hope results are useful, when finally arrive.
Inspired by you book, I threw in the phone chargers and my meds today, got a few more clothes out (fleeces, fleeces and thermals). Don't go until 5th but at least in or hanging up.

Is Charlie getting top marks in puppy school, squirrels Grin.

Did spinning, went to physio (bliss), came home - not done much else really, except keep warm. Bitingly cold wind, no frost or snow though.

Chasingsquirrels · 17/01/2018 23:03

Top marks - ha!
I just posted this elsewhere....
We've been to puppy class with Charlie tonight. The other two pups there (6 months and 11.5 weeks) just sat and waited, whereas Charlie WANTED TO PLAY, NOW, PLEASE and just sat and barked (I felt ashamed of him!).

OP posts:
Chasingsquirrels · 17/01/2018 23:05

On the other hand the class leader who i emailed to thank for some info she'd send me replied with this....so who knows!

You must be so pleased with Charlie. He’s doing really well. It certainly is a pleasure to help families when they are doing their homework! His progress was remarkable. Keep up the good work.

Evening all!
just been a bit busy with knitting tonight ( Niffler blanket Cake ) trying to get some done before I go away.
ouchy ouch Willow for your poor DS . DD's x ray was 3 weeks waiting too.

Chasing - and you have a poorly DS too -but Charlie is doing well- he's only little :)
Selena - at least we don't have to pack fleeces , but DH will be wearing his down jacket regardless ( he does feel the cold, poor soul) . Good to hear the physio went well
Cake - hope you have a lovely meeting with Juan , fingers crossed she feels up to it, and you can pass on our love to her :)
Sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

NotAChristmasCakePop · 18/01/2018 06:37

Knitting? Now I'm confused. Do they put knitted stuff and crochet stuff together then? I'm going to get some yarn while in town to see Juan and then I will PM Knotty.

Well done Charlie! Hope DS1 feels better. It's such a rubbish time of year.

I know, she's a bit of a nutter Selena and the lack of communication between her and DH or DH and her drives me nuts! Glad the physio helps.

Hope you got some sleep Willow Dishes can wait!

I am shattered. DH got up and ran for the loo at some point, but just coughed and coughed, then came back to bed, then got up and went downstairs....no idea what was going on...back in bed when I got up.

Will send Juan all your love and give her a big hug.

Chasingsquirrels · 18/01/2018 07:38

Very windy here - woke up at 5.30am and it was gusting and I didn't get back to sleep properly although I think I dozed. Up at 7am with Charlie and I've just come upstairs to get the bins and actually crawled back into bed. I love him to bits but I'm not a morning person and I do miss lying-in!

Hen area gate blown open, hen house roof blown off, dustbin full of outdoor toys blown over but at least not all over the garden, and recycling bin blown over but one one milk bottle blown out of it. So could have been worse!

Ds1 not yet surfaced so I don't know how he is yet.

Cake - Love to Juan amd hope your DH is okay.

Right, better get on - I've left ds2 with Charlie and I need to do have a shower and go back downstairs so that ds2 can then get ready. It would be much easier if I let the dog upstairs - but that's not happening!

OP posts:
NotAChristmasCakePop · 18/01/2018 08:17

He wasn't sick so off to work. Think he's probably worrying about something...

That sounds a lot more windy then here! I'm considering a nap but I always feel worse for it, so hot chocolate and cake with Juan will have to drag me through to 9pm tonight when I can flop. Drama night for DD so have to wait - at least it's a good chance to read!

Stay safe everyone x

bookbook · 18/01/2018 08:32

Morning all!
well, its bright here. It rained last night, which turned to snow, but when I woke up this morning, it had turned back to rain , so its wet and a bit cold , and not even that windy!
I was up and ready to go this morning as I was on first alert that I may need to go and look after DGS ( he was a bit off last night ) , but he's fine and gone to school.
Washing this morning to do, and a visit to the hairdressers after lunch .
Cake - hope your DH is okay -and you get to enjoy seeing Juan . And yes knitting! - I started off just knitting for them ( its in the big long op ) but swapped to crochet for speed. But I still prefer to knit for the special blankets - I feel I can reflect some of the ideas that are mentioned much more easily with knitting ( well, I can transfer my ideas better into knitting anyway)
Chasing sounds like the wind caught you , hope you can retrieve the roff off the henhouse ( poor hens - are they okay?)
Hope eevryone else is okay

Willow2017 · 18/01/2018 09:16

Morning all.
Gosh that IS windy Squirrels hope the hens are ok. What a pia though hope you can get the roof back on. Aww glad to hear Charlie is making a good impression at puppy classes he will get there hes just a baby still.

Bright here and no more snow thankfully but frosty.

Need to do some jobs and ironing before work this pm. Also need ro make hair appoints for kids they look like highland coos 😀

Love to Juan hope the meeting comes off Cake.

Have a good day ladies.
