Following on from another thread...How soon after giving birth did you start having sex again???

Just wondering if I am completely odd as people seem shocked that someone with a 6wk old is thinking about sex again. Now with Ds was the longest I waited which was 4wks, DD1 was 3wks and DD2 was 2wks. Now will say I didnt have any stitches but did have tearing with Ds and DD2. Obviously I must be 'quick' back into action as there is only 12mths between the girls.

6 weeks with DS1, about 3 with DS2, though would have been up to it a bit sooner, but I don't think DH was!!!!

Before the 6 week check. Can't remember exactly though. Hd a c section so first couple of weeks were still rather sore.

mmm dont know if would have been as keen if I had a c sec so all respect to you hula!!

3 wks. I was absolutely dying for it- think that all that pushing had brought things much closer to the surface down there if you know what I mean. The seam on my jeans and me were much more closely acquainted than normal

just before the 6 week check to find out if everything felt ok. But still not back to a very regular sex life, always too knackered to do it more than once or twice a fortnight.

8 weeks and only because I thought time was ticking on and we 'ought to'... and dp was chomping at the bit..

Can't remember exactually when I had sex again after DS1, but H wasn't allowed anywhere near me until he had his vasectomy, following DS2!

Wow, MNers are brave.
I waited almost 5 months and dh just had to put up with it. I felt way to blobbish, sore and overtired to be bothered.

Still we had been married forever before children, so maybe I am not a good example for you because our sex life was more of a weekly event before children anyway!

I´m with you Rantum. It´s been 3 months now since ds came along and its the absolute last thing on my mind. Think it will be 5 months at least for me...

erm, 8 months !

12 months- at least. Can another mner beat that for a delay...

I wonder how long it will be after imminent birth of ds2. (Not at all bothered tbh- it's already the last thing on my mind)

With ds it was about 2 months & with dd it was about 3 months, i was not in any hurry at all to do any naughty business i was way to tired, emotional & sore!

Blimey some of you are very early.

6wks, though it wasn't much fun to lack of lubrication from breastfeeding.

5 wks, my boys are 11mths apart, and i had a 3rd degree tear.........twas not a great exp first time!

2wks after first (CSec), 10-12 days after 2nd )also CSec) - felt I had to beat my record!

3 wks also c-sec (was our anniversary!)

5 months with first and 3 months with second. I am shocked at all this 3 weeks or 6 weeks mallarcky

I bled for 12 weeks after the first one?????!!!

less bleeding post partum (usually, I'm guessing) after csec as they suck it out at the time!

I bled for about 8 - 10 weeks with both. Remember feeling rather keen just after ds was born, but physically not up for it at all - bad tear, bleeding and so on.

About 1 week with dd and ds1 and 3 weeks this time with ds2 as I was still bleeding until then.
