He seems childlike now. I cannot feel lust for a man who pees sitting down. Is that peculiar? Do your other halves do this?

Actually I envy men's ability to pee standing up when it comes to public loo's - they don't have to park their bum on a filthy loo seat used by countless others; sharing community bum fluff and bacteria (and perhaps little flecks of faecal matter)

LadyOfTheFlowers · 06/03/2007 11:15

dh always does this at home out of respect. saves me cleaning wee of the radiator and putting the seat down.
the boys will be taught the same way.

Bozza · 06/03/2007 11:20

hmc I agree. Find it much more satisfactory that 6yo DS just goes into a public toilet and aims and wees, whereas 2yo DD is balancing on, trying to refuse to let me hold her which means she is holding on to the seat with her hands etc. Then I have to lift her up to the basin to wash her hands and it is invariably wet all round so her coat/top get damp. etc

Sorry for tangent.

Skyler · 06/03/2007 11:25

Oh Bozza, I have so been there. Why won't they let you just hold them grrr.
HMC - Yuk
Floating in Space - Why thank you.

clumsymum; the term for sufferers of this phobia is 'cubicle man'. As in 'do you use the urinal?' 'No, I'm a cubicle man myself'.

It's a form of performance anxiety

clumsymum · 06/03/2007 11:40

Ah, not uncommon then?

Bozza · 06/03/2007 11:50

DH suffers from it when he thinks DD is going to grab him or get in the way etc.

Gee72 · 06/03/2007 11:52

Not uncommon, no. Of course the correct procedure is to stride up to the urinal, ostentatiously unzip, stand with legs 3 feet apart, fart loudly and say 'better out than in', then exit without washing your hands. That's what real men do.

Nockney · 06/03/2007 11:59

I don't really 'get' the issue here. Surely it makes sense to pee sitting down at home, or when you're tired, or when piercings or drunkenness demand it, and to pee when that's appropriate, too?

clumsymum · 06/03/2007 12:44

Gee72,

Of course, thank you so much for that lesson in male etiquette.
If ever I have a sex change, I'll remember what you told me.

Gee72 · 06/03/2007 12:51

Glad to be of service

Has anyone worked out if this is for real yet?

My ds cleans his teeth sitting on the loo, but usually because he has spent the previous 15 mins ignoring me telling him that it's bed-time.

Hence I eventually yell "if you are not in bed within 5 mins, teeth cleaned, you'll get a thick ear"

He doesn't know what a thick ear is, but is not eager to find out.

ash6605 · 06/03/2007 13:12

my D.H used to stand up to pee but then when he had a circumsision(sp?)his pee didnt just flow out it torpedoed out.i thought sod this for a laugh and told him he either sat to pee or move out!
can't believe we're having this conversation, its amazing that once you become a mother, wee, poo, nits, worms, saggy bellys and welly top fans become the topic of every conversation!

twelveyeargap · 06/03/2007 13:27

Mine swaps between the two - sitting/ standing I mean.

Cleaning teeth on the loo seems a bit gross to me. I can't have a wee and then not wash my hands before starting to clean teeth. Sitting on the loo cleanign teeth seems unsanitary...

I do clean my teeth inthe shower sometimes though.

MarriedToASittingPisser · 06/03/2007 14:43

I bit the bullet and spoke to him about it last night. He said does it because that is how his mother preferred him to pee. But he said 'piddle'. He tried to have sex with me later that night and I pretended I had a headache. I think I will put my mooncup in later so that access is denied if he tries again because I cannot face having sex with a man who talks about his mother and her preference for piddling position.

Admittedly he does seem to talk like a child.

MrsPhilipGlenister · 06/03/2007 14:45
Hmm
MarriedToASittingPisser · 06/03/2007 14:49

It is strange. Maybe he is regressing.

I'm going to have to use a cod-ism here:

Freaks. Vom.

JustSometimes · 06/03/2007 15:00

This thread has all the shockability points and LOL subjects to make my day.
I wish DH did sit down to pee...the cleaning I have to do can be positively yuk
But (says in deep voice) for a man to be a man - must stand to P!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/03/2007 15:34

he talks about his mother whilst you are having sex!?!?!?!

I'm not surprised you want to bung yourself with a mooncup.

HappyDaddy · 06/03/2007 15:49

JustSometimes, Make DP clean up after himself, that's not so unreasonable is it?
