What a great mothers day I'm going to have. He's an alcoholic who refuses to get help and has been charged with drink driving. He blew over the limit at the station. I can't get back to sleep, my mind is reeling now about what will happen if he loses loses his job or goes to prison.

okay im back feeling less grumpy (pain meds kicked in) and can say as the child of alcoholics you need to remove your child from the situation as soon as so they don't think this sort of behaviour is normal my parents regularly drank and drove they got so trashed one night they forgot what car they had and tried their car keys in most the cars in the street to see which one it fitted and drove it home they did this because they took the dog out with them and needed to get her home once home there were the usual declarations of love for their children they swanned off to bed i then went out took the dog out the car locked the car up and locked the house up it was a mercy in a way i didn't learn to drive when i was younger because i had no clue you shouldn't drive after drinking i thought it was okay as long as you thought you were okay to drive and limits were for people who couldn't handle their alcohol

protect your child leave him to sort himself out the time has come to cut him loose this would be the end for me personally

i hope you had as good a day as possible under the circumstances Flowers

Just wondering how you are OP?

How have things been with your OH?

Redstorm2807 · 14/03/2016 21:49

So he's 9 days sober. He's really shaken by the whole mess and is taking it very seriously. Things are probably going as well as they could all things considered.

That's good Red. At least he has finally realised what a massive fuck up he was/made. That's probably half the battle Flowers
