Not necessarily anywhere special, even just breakfast in a cafe, is there much conversation over the meal? Basic small talk, actual interesting conversation, or total silence?

Yes, absolutely! (I am difficult to shut up!)

DH does tend to look at his phone, but will put it away and apologise when caught!! Smile

We never stop talking. We are both very, very chatty people and never run out of things to gossip about, often while keeping up conversations with other people via text, fb chat or snapchat simultaneously. We're like teenagers, sometimes.

After 7 months I'd hope we would be chatting. Now we don't go out for lunch let alone chat.

We talk like best friends, comfortable quiet periods, lots of interesting conversation, some small talk. Often we will discuss plans for the pending future, maybe a bit of phone usage but we don't use our phones on big date type evenings.
