It's my wedding night. I'm all alone.

Today I got married.

This afternoon we arrived at our hotel to stay the night.

On arrival I checked my facebook to see some congratulation messages.

One message was not quite what I was expecting.

My 'husband' cheated on me 8 weeks ago.

I'm now sat here alone. On my wedding night. My 'husband' is gone.

I'm pregnant too.

I already have a child with him.

What the actual fuck has just happened to my life?

I feel trapped.

It does, doesn't it, Chipping?

Prepared to marry. pfft. Have a medal you brave little soldier. Hmm

OP, I am really sorry that he chose to do this to you. He's an utter shit.

Tell people the truth. None of this is your doing. Let people know what a creep he is.

Tranquilitybaby · 05/11/2014 18:15

You can do this OP, it's him they'll be appalled with, not you. They'll just want to look after you.

So sorry you're going through this shitty time, my heart goes out to you xx

IsThisReallyHappening · 05/11/2014 18:28

What do you mean Arsenic?

OP posts:
ChippingInAutumnLover · 05/11/2014 18:31

It's better to be honest with DS now& then send twat weasel to...well, actually, just send him packing, matters not where.

I can understand you being embarrassed! it's ingrained into us from being young, but I hope that with each generation that changes. It is ridiculous that when a man cheats on us, WE are embarrassed, as if we aren't good enough or something, it's shit. Hopefully our granddaughters won't feel that.

The thing is, even though WE feel that way, we don't feel that way when it happens to someone else! We can all see the utter bastard for what he is. Trust your friends they'll be there for you. Any that aren't...so the fuck what, they needed culling anyway xxx

Titsalinabumsquash · 05/11/2014 18:32

What in earth are you implying Arsenic? Confused

This is an actual persons life, however out of the ordinary it is, someone truly is that much of an arsehole to do this to such a lovely woman on their wedding day, and her birthday, whilst in the knowledge that there is another baby on the way.

Zamboni · 05/11/2014 18:36

Arsenic if you have something to say, then say it. Not sure what your post is suggesting.

The suggestion is that you use hotel staff as witnesses to non-consumation of marriage in a legal case? Annulment despite two DC?

That is being suggested multiple times. And you are saying you are embarassed. But the whole thing is being played out online, your DH is using your laptop to ramp up the drama, and the whole thing is in danger of getting recognisable.

I assumed it was a NC, but someone said not.

At the same time very mild posts are being deleted, against the policy which HQ posted last week, which is irritating.

ArsenicSoup · 05/11/2014 18:51

What in earth are you implying Arsenic?

I'm not implying anything squash. OP told us - he is using her laptop and she hasn't NCed. So he knows her MN NN. Is putting the whole legal strategy on here really so clever?

Particularly if you are all on FB together which is more secure?

enriquetheringbearinglizard · 05/11/2014 18:53

If you read the links up above Arsenic, you'll clearly see that an annulment is granted for non consummation after the marriage takes place

QuintsBombWithAWiew · 05/11/2014 18:56

Vintage, I did not return to the thread last night, but at least there was no troll hunting on the thread.

I did however wonder if this could be one of the mnetters who were planning a registry office wedding out of town with just a couple of witnesses. Sad Seems it was?

ArsenicSoup · 05/11/2014 18:56

I know it's possible enrique. Little bit of an eccentric choice maybe, but whatever.

She's still discussing this all in public in full view of the bloke concerned so why not add the witness testimony on to the thread? Make it even easier for his solicitor to stitch her and the DC up.

QuintsBombWithAWiew · 05/11/2014 18:57

I dont think annulment is a legal option only for virgins. Hmm

QuintsBombWithAWiew · 05/11/2014 18:57

"Make it even easier for his solicitor to stitch her and the DC up."

Fair point. I have no doubt he is the type who would.

ArsenicSoup · 05/11/2014 18:59

If any of you are really her friends, stop swearing at me, and think about whether this so-called 'support' can really take place with him watching.

FrazzledFandango · 05/11/2014 19:00

It is a name change Arsenic, but I think he's a determined stalker who finds her anyway. I suppose it's very recognisable and he knew where to look.

ArsenicSoup · 05/11/2014 19:01

I dont think annulment is a legal option only for virgins.

Of course not, but the legal position of a divorcee might be better. You wouldn't need cringey testimony from hotel staff either.

I'm not a lawyer. Just saying.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 05/11/2014 19:01

It's not a "legal strategy" and, even if it was, what does it matter. The marriage will end, one way or another, if the OP chooses

I think this questioning is mean, actually. Let the OP have her safe space her to vent and get advice (FWIW, I agree with getting him out if the house and being honest. Too many lies by him already).

GarlicNovember · 05/11/2014 19:02

Honestly, I don't think that's a risk. Annulment isn't like divorce. The marriage wasn't consummated; it is null. And 'voidable' in law :)

Someone's already linked to this: www.gov.uk/how-to-annul-marriage

ArsenicSoup · 05/11/2014 19:04

But he's reading the thread now? Isn't that a bit odd?

NickiFury · 05/11/2014 19:06

I've reported the swearers. You're not being there for the OP addressing Arsenic like that. You're just making yourself look silly.

Zamboni · 05/11/2014 19:08

I think swearing is allowed on MN, Nicki.

VintageCherry26 · 05/11/2014 19:09

I do apologise for swearing, but when arsenic pointed out that she wished the hotel staff were involved in the thread was highly insensitive! As if she just wanted to add more drama to poor OPs situation. I see so many people on here who use posts as gossip and entertainment rather than actually caring about someone in need of support. And and the time it sounded like arsenic was one of them.
