Wine hello hello! Was wondering where you were. Feel a bit sorry for the young lad. Did his technique make up for it?

Flo I have several friendly local teenagers who will babysit for a tenner a pop. When I moved in here, I just went and knocked on their doors and asked if they'd like to babysit - works very well.

Hello DFU too - how was the holiday you old silver fox you?

Bant · 18/08/2013 22:26

I'm actually not sure how much political perspective should play in a match .I'm left of the middle, and I like talking politics, but I think I'd rather be with someone who was passionate about their perspective than someone who just voted labour/lib dem/tory because their parents did. Surely a good natured debate about something with someone is better than them not giving a toss about something important?

The other stuff that comes with it is the important stuff to screen out, surely? Not everyone of a political bent will have the associated downsides: Right wing = entitled, uncaring, posh vs left wing = angry, flaky, possibly doesn't wash.

Flojobunny · 18/08/2013 22:28

hostess he actually did that Shock how disgusting

lurkinglorna · 18/08/2013 22:28

Castro I'd see how other chime in, but for me personally in the "sex/no sex" debate I'm a fan of just "controlling location" rather than saying it out loud? Don't put yourself in a situation where it might happen until you're ready, or until you're clear about where things are going.

If you're both drunk and its Friday night and you're close to someone's house then it might happen. If you're sticking to one drink and being sober and meeting mid afternoon and both having to drive afterwards, then it just takes the "possibility of sex" off the table?

Possibly doesn't wash Grin

OhWesternWind · 18/08/2013 22:30

Lorna blimey you are living dangerously! Is there a reason for all this al fresco passion with DrP?

Oh dear Wine that all sounds a bit much. Bet he pops up again soon, he's got it bad not that you don't have wonderful whatevers, but you know what I mean

Castro it's fine to say you don't just want sex. What's he like?

CastroIsDead · 18/08/2013 22:35

thanks lorna, that is the plan for a now but just thought it might be better to say so if he's not looking for a relationship im not wasting his time either.
as far as sex is concerned, i definatly would but obviously its better to wait if you're looking for something more serious. how long is it best to wait?

CastroIsDead · 18/08/2013 22:38

oww he is lovely, i wouldn't walk past him in the street and fancy him but he is good looking and confident. just felt really easy and was a fun night. he seems like a gentleman so guess he won't mind waiting anyway

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 22:39

Yeah I don't miss him Wine :D right little wanker.

Yours sounds scary in a different way. 'I love you' at 7 am?! I would have freaked out and locked myself in the bathroom :D Still I guess it's an ego boost if a rather frightening one :D

Lorna you are so right! Being a ranty lefty I have this effect on Tory men! They want me to domme them. Urgh. They couldn't pay me enough, however much they asset-strip the country...

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 22:43

Flojo yeah he was without doubt the creepiest (and youngest Blush) man I have ever slept with. Definitely an OD low! I was just out of my horrible abusive relationship with Drama Queen so my radar was right off. And I was drunk. LOL.

Cityboy is a total gent compared to that little wanker but then not many wouldn't be.

Am getting nice texts now saying how excited he is to be seeing me tomorrow. Still not sure what to make of that one.

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 22:44

al fresco passion rocks! Mind you I did once end up down an alley in November, that was a bit too al fresco

lurkinglorna · 18/08/2013 22:45

hmmm OWW I think the living dangerously probably ties in with the rest of my life right now.

I dropped out of studying when i got married and my work level reflects that, so now getting a decent interesting job - which i might need to get a decent degree before, is the priority.

i don't really want to get a sensible serious boyfriend/fall in love properly then end up continuing the low level work i do now just to live nearby him.

so i want to have lovers, but i think i'm acting like a hyperactive student as i don't really "know what i'm doing" yet in terms of moving/studying etc i'm on 2 courses at the moment. i don't think my "roots" are going into the city i live in now, so maybe crazy romances are the way forward

ps all the alleyway stuff happened quite nicely and spontaneously and drunkenly with dr pashing. i'm FAIRLY certain the mattress thing was a joke....Hmm

alleyways aside, wouldn't mind having a peek as his flat soonish if we continue dating, just that its a good way to "check there's no hidden girlfriend" or something. and i'm nosy Smile

Ah that's nice.
I'm feeling a little dejected by him saying he'd rather sleep in!

DadfromUncle · 18/08/2013 22:49

OWW Since you ask... hols were great - I have to reluctantly tip hat to mother of DD - in her five years she's never spent more than a couple of nights separated from DD so it was a big deal for her. I learned a lot from DD and we had a great time (and occasionally not so great - "you're the worst Dad ever" etc when I was making her do something).
Totally agree with Bant on politics - although I don't generally do Tories I have been known to have a Tory pal or two in the past - people I otherwise liked who were (In My Not Even Slightly Humble View) misguided. One of my previous POF profiles listed Daily Mail readers, Tories etc on my "no" list but I decided it wasn't a great selling point.

T2710 · 18/08/2013 22:51

I've looked into match but it just seems SO expensive unless you sign up for a long period. Reason I was thinking of EH is because it was down to 5.95 per month which was v cheap. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and pay for match.

lurkinglorna · 18/08/2013 22:54

T2710 if you have a profile up for a few weeks/month on match.com WITHOUT paying they e-mail you offers so you get a month free, or reduced monthly cost?

so might be an idea to get yourself a dummy/blank profile then wait for the special offers to arrive? Smile

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 22:55

I had to socialise with far far too many Tories when married to a corporate lawyer (for my many sins... lol). I just can't handle them. There may be the odd human one out there but I haven't met them, so I'm happy to make voting Tory a dating dealbreaker... and I've never met a lefty who didn't wash (anarchists though, that's a different story altogether...)

hostesswithleastest · 18/08/2013 22:55

winefiend god I hate that feeling of having smoked all night. I smoked 30 fags one night and woke up feeling I was actually just about to DIE

lurkinglorna · 18/08/2013 22:57

i slept with an awfully posh tory once.

was alright, about a 9 the first night, a 8 the 2nd, and a 3 the third.

when i said there was no way i'd consider ever marrying someone like him he started going on about immigrants.

made a decent fry up.
