Happy birthday Bill

DadfromUncle · 06/08/2013 21:18

WFF Good luck - and to anyone else on a date tonight.

OhWesternWind · 06/08/2013 21:53

Aargh Alpha is taking my mum home then coming back here!!! Yikes, his idea too. He's in the car with my mum oh dear.

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 06/08/2013 21:53

Haven't read the back story so I hope I haven't landed in the middle of anything.

Well...he was nice, but my knickers were not aflame, which, for me is absolutely essential. Chemistry was about a 6. (Lab and Tasty Photos are about a 10+)

I will probably see him again, he would like too.

He might be a grower, kiss was (again) nice. But maybe I am still a bit 'meh' about it all (in the wrong headplace).

Night all, I'll read up tomorrow AM.

grinchie · 06/08/2013 22:02

Hahahaha OWW good luck with that.
Is she the nosey kind?

AWFF chemistry can be there the second time, I'm often too nervous during a first date to gauge it.

KinNora · 06/08/2013 22:11

Bloody hell OWW that's moved on apace - what next, buying a small seaside flat together on Thursday ?

Shame he wasn't all that Twinny but he might be a grower.

Ham a little window shopping is entirely understandable in the circumstances.

MirandaWest · 06/08/2013 22:18

Wow OWW Grin

spangledboots · 06/08/2013 22:18

Was asked on a date tonight but felt too crappy to go. I think I'd have forced myself but he's someone I've dated before. Good in bed but a pain in the arse to listen to!

Got a date lined up for Sunday with a guy who seems pretty great. We seem to have a lot to talk about and quite a bit in common. He's new to online dating so I hope he doesn't chicken out. I've got a few busy weekends coming up. can't think of a suitable name for him! Maybe just The Engineer...but I come across a lot of those!

OhWesternWind · 06/08/2013 22:58

Oh blimey Spangled I had a real engineer phase earlier this year, couldn't get away from the buggers. Alpha has an engineering background too

Well, disappointing I know but still no actual action, but we have moved on a bit. He is gorgeous, what a sexy man. This is some build up!

He's cancelled his business trip abroad so we can see each other the week after next when he's back up north after his op Grin.

48howdidthathappen · 06/08/2013 23:52

OWW You must both be bloody starving Grin

Had a lovely chat on the phone tonight with Mr R&R. He is revealing hidden depths. This two weeks apart is hell, but it has really brought home the strength of our feelings.

lurkinglorna · 07/08/2013 00:30

Grin at engineer phase, maybe we should all pool information at some stage about professions.

speaking of which, i have a first meet with a dreaded d**r tomorrow.

in contact, he's been ok if non exciting, and looks cutish in photos so i haven't screened him out.

39 and never been married - guesses welcome on what the personality flaw will be?

FlorentinePogen · 07/08/2013 01:17

39 and never been married - guesses welcome on what the personality flaw will be?

Well, if he's a docker, he'll definately be uber-heterosexual, swear like there is no tomorrow, will have dubious table manners and be able to drink like a fish.

If he's a doctor, he will have terrible handwriting, possibly alcoholic and might not be 100% certain of his sexuality.

If he happens to be a dosser, I'd cancel the date TBH.

That'll be 15/6d. Please pay on the way out.

Next !!

Smile
lurkinglorna · 07/08/2013 01:21

It's the 2nd one Flo Grin

think you might be on the money there, his face looks a bit reddish in the photographs.

(and I have short hair and get mistaken for a boy every so often Hmm)

lurkinglorna · 07/08/2013 01:23

first one sounds fine! wouldn't mind one of those, sounds very good in bed to me! trouble is most dockers don't want me Sad

lurkinglorna · 07/08/2013 01:24

"ooh mr rough docker, are you going to erm make me feel like less of a lady and more of a WOMAN?!!" Grin

FlorentinePogen · 07/08/2013 01:30

Jeez, what have I started ? Grin

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 07/08/2013 05:45

Morning!

Still a bit behind with the reading up...as you were.

(Have decided not to see chap again as on reflection some of his comments about women were misogynistic under the guise of a 'joke')

Djangounhinged · 07/08/2013 07:31

WFF sounds like a good choice, always good to sleep on these decisions! I think it sometimes takes a while to reflect on and work out why a date wasn't great.

Lorna have fun with the d**r. Maybe he'll surprise you with his docker-like heterosexual-ness!

OWW that's a big step up, will your mum behave in the car? Alpha sounds wonderfully grown up, Envy and Smile for you.

48 you know what they say re. absence, glad it's working for you! How long now until he's home?

I've been texting the postie, but it's all a bit laboured and dull. I think he's probably a really nice guy but I'm beginning to wonder if he doesn't have that much to say for himself... Will probably persevere for a bit though, in case he's just a bit rubbish at written communication... Cos he is handsome and I am shallow

On the other hand, late night messager was back on POF last night and he is ticking all my written communication boxes so far - witty, interesting, interested in me. Think he may be a d**r though.... Why are they to be avoided??! Oh, and his profile is full of pics of him up mountains, in fancy foreign climes, etc etc.... Wink

OP posts:
Bant · 07/08/2013 08:29

To be fair about the pictures in foreign locations, men generally have fewer photos of them at social events. That's the explanation for why there are so many of men holding fish, anyway. If a bloke goes out with his mates, just a group of men, and one if them takes out a camera and starts snapping away, it's really quite unusual unless its done kind if birthday or stag do or something. I've noticed women are more likely to take pictures of each other as a social thing. And then men are less likely to pass photos of men onto other men, especially whilst saying 'ooh, you look good in this one'

So, men have fewer to choose from. And we want to show we're interesting so we'll put up pictures taken by girlfriends on holiday, as those are the ones shared with us.

I think all the photos of me on my profile were taken by women.

Bant · 07/08/2013 08:30

Horrible spelling & grammar there. Damn phone.

Djangounhinged · 07/08/2013 08:44

Sounds about right Bant - and I guess therefore, I should be also be gentler on the poor souls who have to resort to selfies in the toilets.... Wink

Flo Grin

Djan He is back Saturday. He has got a 540 mile drive from Scotland. Plan is for him to get home about 5pm and have a kip. I am out Saturday night with a few mates. He will pick me up about 1am and see if we make it back to mine Wink

Lorna Mr R&R has never married. He is 49. He is just like me about marriage, never felt the need. Yet!

ALittleStranger · 07/08/2013 10:40

At what age does never having been married signify a personality flaw? It would be useful to know, just so I can make sure I squeeze in an ill-advised starter marriage in time.

AWarmFuzzyFuture · 07/08/2013 11:01

Grin@ Stranger, I'll get my hat ready.

Djang Yeah, reflection is always good, even if I like 'em. He was really not my type, no where near enough (intellectual) bounce, I likes my men bouncyGrin

DadfromUncle · 07/08/2013 11:05

stranger Grin
I've been married once - never doing that again. I have a wide range of personality defects I would like the Court thread to consider Smile
