waves - apologies for lack of reply - have been at my dad's for the last couple of days and didn't have access to my work diary. Will reply to you forthwith now I'm home!

WingDefence · 15/08/2013 07:44

Your trip is shaping up nicely :) Didn't get to see my brother as they were out when we turned up unannounced. I'd really psyched myself up for it too. Glad to hear you'll be seeing your DSis though.

The lodger situation sounds difficult. Hope it can all sort itself out soon.

AgathaF · 15/08/2013 08:10

Ah, baby cuddles Smile.

Your trip sounds great. Lots of fun planning, and will be lots of fun once your there.

captainmummy · 15/08/2013 08:36

minniebar - could you get to gatwick?

wingdefence - after all that! what a shame.

wavesandsmiles · 15/08/2013 09:28

wing I'm so sorry you didn't get to see your brother Sad I hope that otherwise it was a good trip?

Today I am going to hopefully finish this birth story, and also do my tax return (yuk) before chasing up the copy of Cs birth certificate so I can get him more official in the real world. I say hopefully as he seems to want to be completely attached to me today!

You don't have to reply to Twunt.

Have you sorted out so he has to pay maintenance for you and C yet?

If you don't want him to take the older children out then I am sure you aren't legally bound to let him.

You owe him nothing.

Thumbwitch · 15/08/2013 14:11

I totally agree with MissS - ignore the Twunt. He has nothing positive to offer you at this moment, so he can just do one. As for taking your DD and DS1 out - why? he is nothing to them now (or getting that way anyway).

Flowers in a box, hey? Cool!

MissStrawberry · 16/08/2013 13:59

Hi Waves, how are things?

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 16/08/2013 15:58

hi everyone. Its been a busy day here! hope you are all having fun. Wine Brew Flowers

wavesandsmiles · 16/08/2013 16:21

Is there a 3 week growth spurt??? C has been permanently attached for HOURS today. My cousin came by and sat with him so I could get a bath, then he fed almost solidly from 12 til 3, just managed to get him to sleep and now he just started grizzling again. Fortunately DS1 and DD have gone off to play with cousin and her children, and TB dropped by unexpectedly and was actually v helpful holding C for a bit so I could quickly eat some lunch....

No word from twunt today. But got another job spec through locally, and 2 for Edinburgh so that's a bit of good news.

However, I have barely achieved ANYTHING today and feeling a bit beside myself due to clearly overtired small baby, and not really knowing how to settle him down.

Oh, a friend is lending me a pop up travel cot for our holiday, so bed-wise C is sorted. So I did manage to arrange that at least Smile

I have also had 4 cups of tea go stone cold due to baby not letting me go. Argh.

Ohhh Edinburgh waves is getting closer........

BIWI · 16/08/2013 16:25

Waves - I can't manage to fit any of my days with yours. I'm either working (which is a good thing, as I haven't had any work for months!), or I'm away. DH and I are going to Bruges on 30/8 for my birthday. (Also, obviously, a good thingGrin).

I'm really sorry as I would have loved to meet you and the lovely Caspian.

MissStrawberry · 16/08/2013 17:01

How can you say you haven't achieved anything?!?!?

You have kept a small baby fed and watered all day.

You have kept a small baby clean and warm all day.

You have kept 2 larger babies fed and watered and clean and warm all day.

You have coped with TB turning up without an invite.

You have welcomed your cousin and her children in to your home.

You have organised a bed for your baby's first holiday.

You have read job info that has arrived.

You have made four cups of tea Grin.

MissStrawberry · 16/08/2013 17:03

And you had a bath!!

themidwife · 16/08/2013 17:18

Hear hear Miss S!!! You're doing everything you need to do! Smile

wavesandsmiles · 16/08/2013 17:26

I actually made 6 cups of tea.....2 of them I managed to drink and didn't go stone cold Wink

OP posts:
MissStrawberry · 16/08/2013 17:32

See!!!!!

Grin
pointythings · 16/08/2013 18:07

waves yes, 3 weeks is classic growth spurt time. So feeding is the best thing to do to up your supply and get C settled again.

There's another one at 6 weeks, which is worse.

themidwife · 16/08/2013 18:10

Have a pint of water or large bottle with sports cap by your side at all times to avoid dehydration while the tea goes cold!

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 16/08/2013 18:19

I didn't think we were supposed to achieve anything when we have newborns?
Having said that, I also think drinking a cup of tea (before it's gone cold) is an official achievement when you have a small baby - so that might make you an over-achiever!
Grin

wavesandsmiles · 16/08/2013 19:47

Is a pint of wine an acceptable alternative to water??? Just finished epic 55 minute feed. I hope these growth spurts don't last too long? I need to somehow get some tea for me now. How?

OP posts:
Doha · 16/08/2013 23:24

In this case a pint of wine would be acceptable (Joking) it may send Caspian to sleep for an hour or so. Keep at it Waves remember "This too shall pass"
Hope you get a decent spell of sleep tonight

wavesandsmiles · 17/08/2013 03:19

He did at least do a good sleep between 10.30 and 2.30, when I did too. Now trying to work out if he is going back to sleep in which case I will too, or whether he is staying awake for milk.

Both my lodgers are definitely leaving end of this month. Which is terrible as I only budgeted for being one down when I went through planning my budget. Quite serious, and I also think I will struggle to find replacements. Not really sure what to do..... Probably lots of hand wringing, finger crossing and re budgeting.

JaxTellerIsAllMine · 17/08/2013 09:27

little man is growing every day, and they do have growth spurts those pesky babies. Grin

have a hug, a large Brew and yesterday as MissS says was a huge achievement.

themidwife · 17/08/2013 12:07

A firm solicitors letter to twunt demanding equal child maintenance that he pays for his other children ie £300 a month (backdated to birth) will help!
