The Rules

  1. Develop a thick skin;
  2. Do not invest emotionally too soon;
  3. It's all BS until it actually happens;
  4. Trust your gut instinct;
  5. People vanishing, lying and being generally weird to you are not your fault
  6. You are the prize - they should be trying to impress you
  7. If it's not fun, stop
  8. loo update is mandatory

lurkinglorna · 13/07/2013 21:02

NewStart

dated someone long distance last year, was good relationship and he quite liked to "sext". i like to send rude texts too, but not ALL THE TIME.

So he'd text: "what are you wearing?"

Me: "black silky slip, lying on bed"

(in reality - fleece with food stain over pyjamas and 2 days old pants and sitting eating chips)

Newstart13 · 13/07/2013 21:04

Haha lorna my problem is I'm too literal would probably have said what you said above.. Hopeless!

I think Tigsy might have been the twinkle dealer but they're elderflower liqueur, vodka and sparkling wine. I think. I can highly recommend them.

Wine sorry to hear that, tonsillitis is a bastard.

I'm really quite tipsy. Oh dear.

Well, Aruba hasn't replied to my message trying to reschedule the date on Monday after 48 hours, although she has been logged in. Ho hum.

I've got a colleague staying over in the spare room tonight, back to Hungaria tomorrow, and FrenchGirl arriving Tuesday. Busy week

ThisReallyIsNotSPNopeNotAtAll · 14/07/2013 11:39

I got caught out last night by the neighbour! She saw me going Grin

Now I'm been questioned by her.

Had a good time. The film wasn't the best and tbh I think he fell asleep at some point during it!

lurkinglorna · 14/07/2013 14:34

@ SP Grin smile mysteriously.

@ Bant ho hum indeed, onwards and upwards! you offered Aruba reasonable options, showed willing, so i don't think its down to the late flight - i think if someone is properly invested in the dating process (or me) they choose to overlook "little inconveniences" provided the other person is reasonably polite and courteous. Whereas if someone isn't that invested then any old excuse will do, either that or they're the kind of person who needs everything to be perfect ALL THE TIME and projects this vibe of "you must WIN me over" which is a nightmare person to be in relationship with!

JulietteMontague · 14/07/2013 16:22

SP busted! Grin

Bant agree what you offered was very fair. I can't remember, had she accepted the date for Monday evening or wash she waiting that out as well. Was she the one who waited 24hrs to the minute? Seems like some Hungaria women's rules are just hard work. Anyway who cares, Frenchgirl is arriving.

Has anyone else noticed MN going a bit half term recently? Lots of sniping in Relationships with a side order of smugness and a lot of posters just not getting it. Just for the record, if I ever get to the stage where I think I'm in a relationship for more than a few nanoseconds I will be inappropriately plastering it all over fb, calling him my DP or anything else I feel like.
