Or am I going to be 'one'

OP posts:
lurkinglorna · 27/06/2013 16:50

ha ha re: Brad Pitt he was just first name that came to mind when i'm thinking of "well known attractive man". not huge fan myself.

actually strangely enough now that i'm old slapper sexually experienced enough i fantasise about real life lovers, or the one i've got if i'm dating someone!

KinNora, you are gourmet, no? Smile normally i have my chicken covered in breadcrumbs and fried and with chips Grin roasting a bird is as posh as i get.

KinNora · 27/06/2013 16:54

Lorna I'm bored to fricking tears of cooking the same thing so raided my cookery books.
I'm also permanently amused by the word 'spatchcock' - I'm the epitome of sophistication.

JulietteMontague · 27/06/2013 17:57

Kin M&S now sell spatchcocked all sorts. I've been tempted many times but balk at the idea of paying twice the price just because something has been laid out. Vair impressed with your culinary skills.

Flipper924 · 27/06/2013 17:57

Spatchcock always makes me smile. Even as a teenager, working in the local supermarket.

I have a dinner date for tomorrow! I shall call him the Sailor. I've spoken to him on the phone, even. I never usually speak on the phone before a date, but I have resurrected the flipper phone for dating. I am actually quite looking forward to it!

Now, dress, or top and black jeans? Sorry, no idea how to do links:

I'm having a pork steak for dinner tonight.

JulietteMontague · 27/06/2013 18:29

Flipper the top would be vair sopisticated, and casually alluring over a dinner table. Both are nice though

lurkinglorna · 27/06/2013 18:46

both are nice Flipper Smile

quite like a dress for a first date... but then top is very alluring too.

KinNora · 27/06/2013 19:18

They're both lovely Flipper but I think the top and jeans just shade it, it sort of says 'I'm not trying too hard but I'm both gorgeous and really rather cool' .

Juliette it was dead easy, a Lorraine Pascale recipe lemon and tarragon chicken

OhWesternWind · 27/06/2013 19:21

Ooh Flipper that sounds good! Tell us more ...

Nora think you should get your train tickets booked, a nice session with TS might be just what you need!

Absolutely freezing here, pouring with rain and I'm thinking seriously about putting the heat on. Blah.

Is anyone out tonight?

Suckatrelationships dating, seeing each other. It's all just semantics. Onwards and upwards by the sound of it.

Bant you do sound shallow but I feel we're also watching you grow as a person. Grin It's a beautiful thing when a man realises a beautiful but blah woman isn't worth the effort.

huddyblell I find that if it's been a while the idea of intimacy can be awful when you over think it, but it always seems to come back pretty easily.

I hate the utter predictably of hormones. Confused

KinNora · 27/06/2013 19:40

Thanks OWW I suspect you're completely right, although he's a gentle wee soul and I think he might need careful handling so that's keeping my inner nympho a closely guarded secret .

When are you seeing Alpha again ?

Broken is that with Shy Doctor ? It's good to see you sounding positive.

Flipper924 · 27/06/2013 19:43

Ok, top gets the outing. Was intending to wear it out on Saturday, too, so I'll get to see how well it washes! Thanks for the advice.

What would you like to know, OWW? He's the same age as me, divorced, son, poorer since divorce (why did he tell me that? Should I be worried?) but getting back on his feet. He seems quite gentlemanly and a bit flirty. I think he might be a bit less of a lefty than me, but we'll see.

How are you feeling about it, 55?

OhWesternWind · 27/06/2013 19:56

Well that all sounds good Flipper! Maybe the "poorer since divorce" is because he feels a bit embarrassed by his financial circumstances? I wouldn't worry about it if its an isolated remark, but any bitterness about divorce settlements etc (or anything, really) is a bit of a no-no. Gentlemanly and flirty is good!

Be careful with him, Nora, don't break him.

Not got anything definite arranged with Alpha yet - hope he asks soon. (And, no, I'm not going to ask him. I like him doing a bit of chasing, it's nice, and I'm not running after anyone. Terrible double standards there but I don't care).

Bant · 27/06/2013 20:06

I left my bloody phone in Hungaria. Kind of feel lost without it.

So - back in blighty for a week and a half, no dates for me as there's really no point setting any up here.

When I'm back over there, I'll meet DoctorLovely, Aruba and that's it. Oh and there was this other girl I was chatting to last night who's just mailed me...

I'm being winked at by someone new on one of my profiles, but then when I looked further, it's PinkHat who has changed her username, profile and pictures. Not easily recognisable as the same person, except from all the messages she sent me before which now show up as from the new profile.

Still shaving 7 years off her age though..

Flipper924 · 27/06/2013 20:42

Hm, I'll keep my mind open about the bitterness, it did make me wonder.

Enjoy your week off from dating, Bant! Don't know how I'd manage without my phone for a week. What will you do?

akaWisey · 27/06/2013 20:53

Right. Can anyone tell me if it shows when you've done a Facebook search for someone? Does it show on their page thing, and if so does it reveal the identity of who's visited?

Thank you kindly.

Have two more dates lined up. Geeky guy (dinner at nice restaurant next week, and Wembley, we're off to see a band in August).

Have been poorly and can't keep up with the pace of this thread!!

OP posts:
Flipper924 · 27/06/2013 20:59

Wisey, I'm no expert, but I believe if you look at someone's fb page (if you're not already friends with them), you may get suggested on the 'people you may know' spot.

akaWisey · 27/06/2013 21:01

ah, thank you flipper. Wont go there then!!!!

OP posts:
KinNora · 27/06/2013 21:01

Christ I hope not

akaWisey · 27/06/2013 21:03

well that's why I thought I better check kin Grin

OP posts:
akaWisey · 27/06/2013 21:09

tbh I dont understand fb.

I was on it years ago and there were dozens of people on the 'people you may know' who I'd never met and didn't know from adam or eve. how they appeared and why I never knew and I left as I never used it.

But a significant amount of posters in relationships seem to discover underhand behaviours/lies by checking out fb profiles. Probably still shouldn't go there tho.

OP posts:
JulietteMontague · 27/06/2013 21:11

Wisey those come up randomly, for example when you accept a new friend it will randomly suggest their friends to you. Fb is so odd these days no one can keep up with it so I wouldn't worry. Or make a false account and do it

JulietteMontague · 27/06/2013 21:12

Kin I love that you call it FaceBastard

Flipper924 · 27/06/2013 21:16

Yes, most of them are people you have mutual friends with, but I've had a couple of people suggested, who i know in rl, but who I don't have any mutual friends on fb with. Neither of them are in my email address book, and it was before I had fb on my phone, so it couldn't have found them that way.

KinNora · 27/06/2013 21:31

Juliette I was always a resolute non-Facebastarder but Tygsy made me do it.

(So that's my son's new girlfriend, the ex of an ex who hates me, the people I used to work with, numerous ex boyfriends and Spud's ex wife who'll be seeing me pop up - spiffing. )
