Always go with your gut I say (as opposed to your foof Wink)
I am a big fan of sleeping on a problem and getting clarity that way.

The one thing you need in abundance with OD is self-esteem. That's what tells you that Mr Not-right needs kicked into touch.

There's an awful lot of energy wasted on these people - will he, wont he, why hasn't he texted back, etc. etc.

All you have to do is decide if THEY are good enough for YOU.

Mr Wealthy may be fanciable and fun but he's falling way short in the "respect" category.

Likewise the optician. He's in the middle of a drama, and you're an extra at best, a member of the audience at worst. You deserve to be centre stage.

I'm gonna go for it on Fri, by which I mean, pack a toothbrush and wear my best pants.

I may as well find out sooner rather than later plus I may not get the opportunity again for a while

MadameO - who are you kidding, leave the foof muzzle at home! Grin

:) Good plan madame

Im not planning on sleeping with the pirate any time soon ( depsite spending a while snogging him sat)

I think thats where i went wrong with the puppy - we had sex on the 4th date and didnt really emerge from the bedroom much at all, till around 3 months later.

My judgement was clouded by lust and fucking.
We are very sexually matched, just not matched at all in any other area...

If we hadnt have spent all that time shagging, then he wouldnt have lasted so long... if my foof hadnt wanted some more, then i wouldnt have considered him again....

So - shocking, coming from me, im going to wait it out a little while. Attempt to get to know him a little bit more first. To see if there is anything there, other than sex.

But, this is off the back of having, tons and tons of sex for nearly half a year, so maybe easier to take that stance.....

Um, New York Boy wants to know what colour my eyes are. Ignored the question the first time & he's asked again. Tells me my messages keep making him laugh. Also keeps asking if we can chat in real time. As much as it's fun to talk to a fellow American, I'm not really interested in him and not even particularly interested in even meeting for a chat/coffee/whatever. He also lives about 90 miles away so don't see the point/can't be bothered. What to do...?

Chatting with someone else a bit closer to home - writer/musician guy. Wish he would post a better photo of himself though, I'd like to really see what his face looks like...I guess I'm a bit shallow like that!

Oh, and just got second interview for dream job - woo hoo! Short notice, they want me to come in tomorrow and attend their staff meeting, meet other team members...that's a good sign, right??

watchoutforthatsnail · 10/10/2012 11:10

yoga - YES!!! yes, it is, its to see if the rest of the team like you.. :) well done.

just tell new york boy what you have told us, thats fine, you are allowed to not want a date you know ;)

and just ask the other one for a picture, ive cancelled dates off the back of recieving a second picture, because they havent turned out to be what their first picture says...

yoga sounds like a good sign to me re job!

watch no harm in waiting it out with the pirate, just go with the flow, see what happens :)

I've had some lovely emails from colleagues in other offices which are really kind and have cheered me up (had thought no-one cared!) plus the soldier randomly phoned me this morning (at 9am, makes a change from 5am...)

hatesponge · 10/10/2012 14:33

bit of news

I have a job!!

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

It's the one I interviewed for last week. Am MASSIVELY relieved. Now just have to try and help my colleagues find other roles too!

OhWesternWind · 10/10/2012 14:38

Well I have had a nice sounding bloke pop up today on PoF. Think he is an OD newbie, seems intelligent, literate and keen! Have been chatting over lunchtime and he's asked me out to dinner already. Should I be wary or is this just keenness? (He said no problem if I just want to chat longer).

He actually said on his ad he has been single a year and is now ready to move on, so hopefully no optician-type nonsense!

snapespeare · 10/10/2012 14:43

sponge !!!!!!!! Thanks Wine

Isn't it funny how the world can turn on a sixpence! :-) so pleased for you!!! Grin

OhWesternWind · 10/10/2012 14:46

Sponge hurray!!!!! Well done that woman. I am so pleased for you. Wine

DoingItForMyself · 10/10/2012 14:52

Congrats on the job front Sponge & Yoga!

Western, I'd be tempted to just get on and meet him sooner rather than later, especially if he's new to OD, you can catch him before he's ruined!

Yoga, I met up with someone whose photo wasn't brilliant, I thought he looked a bit smarmy in his pics, but I could see that there was chest hair something appealing there and it was the best move I've ever made! You can't tell much from a photo, so where's the harm in a quick drink/dinner?

OhWesternWind · 10/10/2012 14:58

Doing - may be tempted to bag him whilst he's still fresh and innocent mwahahaha

watchoutforthatsnail · 10/10/2012 15:01

sponge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fantastic. thats just great!!! wow, what a 24 hours you have had. So - when do you start the new role, where is it going to be located now the office is shutting AND you are going to have new colleagues, who hopefully wont be such arses.

friday all confirmed with pirate :) looking forward to it.
Dumping text all penned to puppy :)

Yes, Yoga, loads of good luck for you for tomorrow! Is it morning or afternoon?

Yogagirl17 · 10/10/2012 15:31

Afternoon - they want to come in at lunchtime and stay for several hours, attend a team meeting etc. Feeling very hopeful but not popping the champagne just yet.
