ugh. sorry if this is ranty but i have had some beers.

I went on a date with someone I had met online on pof. Last Saturday. The week running up to the date he was calling me for 3 hours a night and texting me all day through work. He was proper sweet etc.

Then, date. We had super fun. The next day he wrote all over facebook what an amazing night he had, text me asking if he made a second date and how was I feeling etc.

The next day, he calls me, only to tell me to text him instead because he was watching a film.. Hmm

Then, basically he has text me less and less since then. I even gave him an out, by asking him if he was into it or not. He assured me he was just busy.

So now he hasnt contacted me at all since yesterday lunchtime, so I know really that he does not give a shit.

But why do I even care? On sunday after our date I wasn't even sure if I liked the guy enough to see him again? And now Im proper upset and offended!

But you haven't contacted him since he last contacted you... He might think you're not interested?

amstronger · 17/08/2012 22:18

How long have you being dating online?I've done online dating before and the first Guy I liked was texting, calling and made me believed he was the one but after two three dates he just disappeared into thin air.I was feeling same way and Up untill now I still don't know what i did wrong but it gave me an idea of how online dating could be and took it as experience.U need to relax and see how it goes,if he text or turns up great. If he doesn't just move on.

WelshCat · 17/08/2012 22:18

hmmm, maybe

EclecticShock · 17/08/2012 22:18

Sorry for the double post. Just send him the bright and breezy message and stop worrying. If he's a cock, it's his loss.

hatesponge · 17/08/2012 23:00

I wouldn't bother texting him tbh. He doesn't think you're not interested, unless he's completely thick (and really who wants to date someone that dense?) it's far more likely he's just being deliberately awkward. I'm convinced some men are just sad pricks who get a kick out of getting women to chase them, and then ignoring them when they do. Sadly online dating is full of them mainly because none of them would ever be capable of attracting a woman in any RL social setting

Purpleknickers · 18/08/2012 06:03

I agree with hatesponge Don't text him, why give him the satisfaction of thinking you give a damn.
As somebody up thread advised make Facebook status updates bright and breezy show him you have a life and are not pining over him (which you're sure not doing) my money says you'll be deleted as his fb friend by the end of tomorrow anyway ... That's how these idiots roll Smile

Purpleknickers · 18/08/2012 06:04

Ps.. Why do you care so much about some prick? Because you have manners he clearly doesn't !

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 08:01

Yeah I have resisted deleting him because I'm sure it will come across like I'm angry or something. Lol I have no clue why I worry so much what a stranger thinks of me! I am sure he will delete me soon :)

I may or may not text him later. But only because I want to know why!!

OP posts:
DoingItForMyself · 18/08/2012 09:20

Don't contact him! I gave in and texted the twunt who has been ignoring me for 2 weeks after a loooooverly date and some v passionate kissing. Guess what, no response.

Then a half-hearted "OK, lets do dinner, we could do with having a chat about stuff" Sad so I have left it there. I don't want to force him into going out with me only to use it as an opportunity to tell me I'm a bunny boiler for texting him!

Forget about him, the only reason he has gone cold on you is because he's an idiot who couldn't see what was under his nose. You don't need to make any big gestures like deleting him, just ignore him for a while, (then delete him!) Use it as practice for the next date.

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 15:30

Yeah, I texted him. Lol at 10am and he has not replied! Wanker.

I wanted to give him the opportunity to redeem himself and tell me why he changed his mind. But he has clearly decided he wants me to think he is a heartless bastard instead. Im not gonna delete him off facbeook, ill wait a while. I havent even had a pity date offer so at least youre one up one me Grin

FermezLaBouche · 18/08/2012 15:33

Oh what an idiot he is! A spineless idiot! What did you say?

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 16:48

I said (because no matter what you all say, it is blatantly obvious that he has in fact blown me off)

"I think its safe to assume I won't be seeing you this weekend then :) Would be helpful for me to know what changed you mind though x"

Pretty much what I said I was gonna say. I was aiming for 'i know you rudely dumped me after lying about it, and im not angry or unreasonable, but i would like to know why' in a friendly way.

I hope I came across that way!

But then, he didn't bother to reply. So I guess it doesn't matter!!

OP posts:
DoingItForMyself · 18/08/2012 17:41

Well at least you weren't playing games, you were up front and honest and any decent bloke will appreciate that (its what I'm telling myself anyway!)

My twunt asked if I could do dinner last night but I thought I'm not going to bother getting a babysitter and getting dressed up to go out and get dumped! So I said no, but said I'm free next Weds.

If he's actually interested he can call me about it, but if I don't hear from him I'll assume that's it. Its a shame as mine was actually a friend who I've fancied for ages, so it will make that a bit awkward now, but I've got plenty of friends, I was prepared to sacrifice one for a shag!

I did go for a coffee with a POF bloke on Friday though, to take my mind off it. He was v nice, but I didn't fancy him at all, but I'm sure there will be others who I get on well with. Plenty more fish in the sea WelshCat!

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 17:47

Yeah... except I have looked at them aaaaalll and I don't like the look of any of them! This one was a little bit different to all the others.

Well, hehe, he wasn't so different personality wise! Lol

OP posts:
DoingItForMyself · 18/08/2012 17:54

How else can we meet some sexy blokes then? I looked at Match but you have to pay (too tight for that!) and JustSingleParents looked full of serial killers posing with other peoples' kids!

I'm joining a kick boxing class next week to see if I can get fit, have fun and possibly meet a fit bloke at the same time - is there anything you fancy doing that could help you meet people.

Otherwise, perhaps you should be a bit less picky about POF - I don't really fancy most of them, but then if my cold-fish twunt were on there I wouldn't pick him for his looks, but when I'm with him I just want to get in his trousers! Don't judge a book and all that....

izzyizin · 18/08/2012 18:03

Wish I'd been here last night. The writing was writ large on the wall and there's no way I'd have advised you to waste a text on that twat just to prove a point that Eclectic struggled to make.

Jeez, Eclectic, he wasn't forthcoming because Cat had texted him; he wasn't forthcoming because she hadn't texted him, he wasn't forthcoming because he was 'acutely' busy watching films and couldn't find the pause button Apologia much? Couldn't you see the obvious? He blew hot and then blew cold because he's a discourteous twat who gets his rocks off blowing hot and cold.

In the unlikely event that the twat requests another date, Cat, I trust you will infom him that your diary is now full and you'll be busy watching paint dry which will be far more interesting than wasting any more time in his unedifying company.

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 18:21

Hahahahahahahahhah thankyou izzizin :)

I am no longer mad at Eclectic, as she has redeemed her sins with kindness, lol, but you are right about what you say, thats why I was so mad!!

And yeah, I shouldn't have text him, but now I can 'let go' and be fully sure that he is indeed a wanker and that he hasn't just lost his phone/forgotten my number/died etc etc. Theres no excuse for not replying to my message today, so I am now not at all bothered by him.

OP posts:
WelshCat · 18/08/2012 18:23

Oh, and Doingitformyself, fuck knows is the answer to your question!

If I knew where these sexy guys were, I would be there. Unfortunately I don't have a regular enough babysitter so I cant join anything, but I am starting college in Sept, so hopefully there will be some tasty guys there :)

I am even more unimpressed at POFs offerings, because I usually fancy old fat hairy guys (odd fetish, i know) but there arent even any of them on there!!

OP posts:
izzyizin · 18/08/2012 18:53

You must be going to the wrong pubs, honey. There's plenty of old fat hairy gits guys in the ones I frequent Grin

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 19:50

Loool where do you live? There are none here!

OP posts:
DoingItForMyself · 18/08/2012 20:14

Ha! I put on my profile that I don't mind about build/height etc but he must be hairy!!! So you're my competition are you!?

DoingItForMyself · 18/08/2012 20:17

The old broken phone thing - that's how my twunt got back into my life after 6 months of weaning myself off him - he came knocking at the door asking for my number because his phone was broken (cracked screen to prove it!) Not sure how hard you have to break a phone to knacker the sim card and lose all your numbers - perhaps he hit it really hard on the delete button when he was about to call me Hmm Bastard blokes!

WelshCat · 18/08/2012 20:53

Loool. Yeah they are mean!

And doingitformyself, looks like we are rivals! haha. have you ever seen The Salvager? he is my dreaaaam man :)

OP posts:
DoingItForMyself · 19/08/2012 09:15

Grin ok maybe we're not rivals then!
