Why do men find girl on girl so much of a turn on?......

oreoaddict · 13/03/2012 17:59

Hi everyone

Was just wondering really because when me and dp first got together he said that he didn't get it. Now though, he finds it a real turn on and just wondered why.

Women don't usually find the idea of 2 men together a turn on...........I think anyway.

Any thoughts? Would be great to hear from a mans point of view.

It can't be that naughty, it goes on too frequently here.

QuintessentialyHollow · 13/03/2012 23:45

Does it Gay? I had never noticed.

I dont notice anything though.

But I think sparky has a point about many things.

AnyFucker · 13/03/2012 23:50

it happens all the time here too

I am having pretendy-lesbian action for my DH's entertainment as I type right now

he prefers it to BabeStation at this time of night

multi-tasker, I am

Gay40 · 14/03/2012 01:15

Unless you have a telescope pointed at my house, no you wouldn't notice Grin

TheMerchantOfVenom · 14/03/2012 04:21

Noting epitomises 18-year-old-ness quite like going bi for the boys.

Molasses · 14/03/2012 06:35

Lesbianism threatens men so they eroticize it.

Generalization.

True though.

oreoaddict · 14/03/2012 08:59

sparky, yes! I couldn't have said it better myself. I thought some people might say I was in denial if I confessed that I have experimented and can get a little thrill from other ladies, but said I am straight at the same time. I know that sounds insanely contradictive, but obviously i'm not alone. I have always said that I couldn't have a relationship with a woman and probably for the same reasons as youGrin and also it's very rare that I cross the line from admiring a woman to actually maybe having a little bit of a girl crush. It's very rare, but it does happen. There's no point in being catagorised for everything I guess, but i'm glad that there are people out there who are on the same page.

Faux lesbionics for the menz :o

Love it!

There is always an implied male viewer in girl-on-girl (never woman-on-woman) mainstream porn.

Clytaemnestra · 14/03/2012 09:19

My theory on why women write slash is that it's a non-threatening way of sharing their own fantasies with other people. What they really want to do is have sex with one, or both of the men themselves, but if they put detailed fantasies about them and the guys, no one else would want to read it, and they would feel very exposed. And they won't put another girl in there as they don't want to think of another girl in there, as it makes them jealous. But they don't get jealous of another man, so can play out all their fantasies, and share them, without feeling they'll be judged or exposed.

I'm not sure it's the same for guys though, although I do think it's the idea of being able to watch while at the same time not being jealous or feeling threatened.

I think it's all a bit weird, but then I used to date a guy who people wrote loads of slash about and a friend used to delight in sending me the really gross ones about him she found online. Very very odd.

flatbellyfella · 14/03/2012 09:30

What is slash??

OneHandFlapping · 14/03/2012 09:43

Slash is guy-on-guy in fanfiction - usually taking two straight character from a book/film/TV show and writing fanfiction in which they get it on.

Apparently it began with Star Trek (the original series) in which Kirk/Spock (pronounced Kirk slash Spock) became a popular pairing. And hence the word "slash".

flatbellyfella · 14/03/2012 09:48

Thanks OHF. Think I will pass on that. Grin

DinahMoHum · 14/03/2012 10:08

i just think loads of people in general like the idea of threesomes, but the guys liking to watch lesbians thing is only as a performance before he eventually gets to join in usually. In the same way i sometimes like to imagine a mmf threesome and imagine ive got two guys all over me, but in reality its the extra attention and extra equipment (ahem) that would be fun, not watching two guys do each other for the sake of it.

Saying that, there are voyeurs who just like to watch people have sex even if theyre not part of it. I think everyone just likes different things, but the girl on girl thing is a bit of a cliché and i think its annoying how many girls just pretend to do it for their guys when theyre probably not even into it for any other reason than a performance. Like they dont even know what their own sexuality is apart from as a performer. A shame really

AnyFucker · 14/03/2012 10:15

I thought slash was nawty writing about the fit drummer from Guns'n'Roses Grin

DinahMoHum · 14/03/2012 10:25

i thought it was taking a piss

AnyFucker · 14/03/2012 10:27

heh

oreoaddict · 14/03/2012 10:32

Definitely Dinah, but then I don't fall into that catagory as I wouldn't be pretending. I think it's sad that anyone would just pretend or perform just to keep their partner happy. I don't mind dressing up etc, but the fact that it turns my partner on so much, turns me on, so i'm not really acting iyswim. I'm a rubbish actress, so it's probably just as well Grin

The original question of why do men like it I still find really interesting. I found molasses theory of lesbianism threatens men so they erotisize it, very interesting. I think that makes sense actually, albeit slightly patronising for guys. I think there could be a lot of truth in that.

Faux lesbionics for the menz,..... I love that

When I used to go out to pubby/townie club type places you would always see this kind of show going on and men salivating at the act

My friends and I would always just laugh and say 'fake'... you can nearly always spot the 'for the menz' thing as opposed to two girls together for themselves

QuintessentialyHollow · 14/03/2012 10:40

Faux lesbionics for the menz

Oh absolutely. When my friend and I were out clubbing, when we were very young and drop dead gorge, like 19, we used to snog, and get drinks bought for us. Grin Cheap nights out....

AnyFucker · 14/03/2012 10:47

that's what my neice does, however the difference for her is it's preserved in all it's posterity on FB Grin

SlightlyJaded · 14/03/2012 10:47

Of course men enjoy it. It is a show - written, choreographed and performed with them in mind.

Probably two 'real' lesbians, with 'real' bodies, doing their 'real' thing, would be far less interesting to them.

MrsArchieTheInventor · 14/03/2012 10:48

DH says he likes the idea of me and another woman but if I to bring another woman into the bed (Holloby Willoughby for instance) he would probably freeze/cack his pants/finish before we'd started so to speak. Whatever, he definately wouldn't know what to do or where to start! Smile

AnyFucker · 14/03/2012 10:50

yes, SJ, hence the catty comment about how "butch" women wouldn't be of interest at all, upthread

only young and beautiful "girls" on "girls" is the key here, isn't it ?

if I were a lesbian I would be mightily offended by the ridiculous antics of the faux lesbianators

QuintessentialyHollow · 14/03/2012 10:50

Thankfully there is NO such picture of me that will ever come back to haunt me. Grin
