career vs relationship

I am an impossible situation and could do with advice.

I have been offered a brilliant job in another country. It would be fairly full-on and probably for around a year. I also have a DP who for job reasons cannot relocate. We haven't been together long but have been friends a really long time and it's going very well, no DCs.

I don't know what to do. Career vs love. He is quite all or nothing (as am I) and I don't think we would fare so well so early on if we saw very little of each other for a year.

Who is to say you will not argue and it would end 10 years down the line when you do not take the job because of him and you come to resent him for it?

No, he's pleased for me just a bit worried I guess. He really isn't a controlling, manipulative twat. He's pretty amazing.

Definitely take the job. No man is worth giving up something you really want. There are plenty more men out there.

you've been together only a couple of months! Ofcourse you need to go for that job. Make the most of your opportunities while you can.

i would take the job and make extra effort to keep communications up via other means and regular visits home

Just came across this thread. Well done OP! A year will fly by so enjoy the opportunity and make the most of it! Many relationships can last the distance and its only a year! If he's the one, you will have many many more years to enjoy and this year will be an exciting year for both of you.

I'm going Wednesday, they're putting me in a hotel over night and I know a few people who work there already so predicting dinner then a lot of drinks , coming back Thursday.
