Ok so before I start I know this one is going nowhere. However I'm intrigued about what is actually going on in this guy's head!

So we started talking about 2 weeks ago. Long conversations which turned into texts away from the dating site. He would text me mid-day and we'd text back and forth until almost midnight. He was full of nice-ness. Lots of kisses, generally being very sweet and caring, asking about my day, asking how I was etc. Then he asked me for my facebook details which I gave him -- BOOM! Totally changed.

Now if he'd simply seen a few of my less flattering photos on facebook and decided not to pursue things I'd be fine with that. However this guy hasn't just disappeared on me, he's carried on texting me but in a way that suggests he's actually trying to offend me/upset me.

For example, he used to send the first text saying "hiya xx how are you today? :)" and now he just sends a random text saying "alright" wtf?? why bother??

I noticed a photo on his facebook with him stood with Gordon Ramsey and so I mentioned it and said I was jealous and joked if he was well in with Gordon he could cook for me (in response to him saying he wanted me to cook him my signature dish). His response was "yeah, as Gordon would say, fuck off". ???

Now I'm quite happy to stop contacting the bloke (as I have done) but he's the one that keeps initiating conversation with me. Another example was him texting me and in reply I asked how his appointment had gone that he'd mentioned the day before. His response was that he didn't go as something came up. I replied "oh right, shame" and he replied "whatever".

Now he's started private messaging me on facebook. Last night he mentioned he was going to Australia. I said that sounded nice and he replied that he didn't want to go really. I tried to keep it light hearted and said I'd love to be forced to go to Australia and he replied with "thats you". I was in a shit mood myself at this point so just said "ok grumpy" and he replied "no, not grumpy".

Why even contact me at all just to be like this? Yet out of the blue he'll send me a random "nice" text again.

Headfuck yeah? what's his game?

MuckyCarpet · 20/01/2012 15:59

Without being blunt - okay - I can't do this WITHOUT being blunt, but you don't know this guy, he doesn't know you so the fact that you have spent so much time analysing and trying to make sense of his behaviour suggests that you are a bit intense and a bit full on and if you come across like that IRL, perhpas THAT'S what's turned him off.
Just stop replying to him - and I think you've potentially opened a huge can of worms with the details you've posted about him already. These things can take on a life of their own on MN - I'd seriously think about asking for that info to be deleted.

solidgoldbrass · 22/01/2012 08:11

Actually, you've got all the answer you need: there is no knob like someone who was once Almost Famous. He's an ego on a stick and everyone's supposed to worship him.
So block and ignore.

Proudnscary · 22/01/2012 08:42

He's a cunt.

Don't waste one more second of your time trying to work this out.

Delete his number and defriend/block him on all other media.

Then meet someone fab who loves you appreciates you have a life.

thesunshinesbrightly · 22/01/2012 08:46

I agree with SGB. I was seeing someone that got in the final of a tv show and he was a complete knob, thought everyone loved him and he had so many fans - fact was he got there by shear luck, not talent but his ego was huge and i felt sorry for him but he was weird and quite disturbing. Delete him.

AttillaTheMum · 22/01/2012 09:09

If he I like this when you haven't even met yet and he is supposed to be making a good impression. Can you imagine what he would be like in a few years? Angry

PosieParker · 22/01/2012 09:37

Block his number and facebook account.

PosieParker · 22/01/2012 09:38

Oh and please name and shame.

befuzzled · 22/01/2012 09:46

Or pm me please! I am curious now as i know someone that was briefly semi famous and he is also a complete emotional fuckwit

ArseWormsWithoutSatNav · 22/01/2012 10:25

I want to know :o tell us the programme!

Block him on FB but I would be tempted to send him a rather curt message. Perhaps "so long, weirdo" would suffice?

CalamityKate · 22/01/2012 10:27

Can someone PLEASE PM me? I absolutely promise I won't blab onsite!

OP - I'm echoing what everyone else said but honestly, don't waste another second on this bloke. It amazes me how much time we (women) spend trying to analyse people, especially blokes. Who CARES why he's fucking you about? Upshot is, he IS. That's all you need to know. Delete and block. You'll feel better for it Grin

befuzzled · 22/01/2012 10:29

Me too

And I reckon he is pissed off with you because you didn't twig at all the clues and he is hanging around waiting for you to acknowledge it and fawn over him

PippiLongBottom · 22/01/2012 10:41

I'm on my phone but have pm'd calamity cate cos the OP pm'd me. Suffice to say I had never heard of him. (not BB)

MuckyCarpet · 22/01/2012 10:44

Oh dear, I see I've opened pandora's box with this one. I can't name him, I don't want to get sued or anything! It wasn't Big Brother though and the whole thing was around 8 years ago so trust me, you won't know him :)

Anyway, you were all right. I stopped contacting him completely and didn't hear from him for a few days. Last night I get a text "Hello, you've been quiet lately? xx". Ashamed to admit I bit the bait and replied - que lors of lovey dovey nice texts for an hour or so. He then sent me a message on facebook later in the night, I replied to that and it didn't take him long to go all cold and 'one word answer' on me again.

I'm officially bored of him now. And on the bright side, have a date set up with someone else - someone who is rather consistent with his personality!

OP posts:
MuckyCarpet · 22/01/2012 10:46

Oh god, if this PM is going around PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not name him or the program on the public boards.

OP posts:
PippiLongBottom · 22/01/2012 10:57

Promise I won't. You're better off without him by the sounds of it. He's a no mark with a sense of entitlement.

PippiLongBottom · 22/01/2012 10:57

Oh and I had never heard of him, it's not a well watched programme really.

MuckyCarpet · 22/01/2012 11:00

No it isn't :) I think he thinks of it as being much bigger than it is.

OP posts:
CalamityKate · 22/01/2012 11:01

I'd never heard of him either, but then I don't watch the programme in question.

Glad you've seen the light!

PosieParker · 22/01/2012 11:03

I did not get a PM!!!!!!!!!!

TheWisdomOfSolomum · 22/01/2012 11:10

I never ask for PMs but I feel like I REALLY REALLY need to know who he is ... pretty please!

OP he sounds awful, regardless of who he is, please get rid of him.
