Hello, I'm Mouse and I have an ever changing relationship with alcohol.

This is the Brave Babes Battle Bus, it's a support thread for those who feel their drinking habits are not what they should be, or even those of another.

Sober, drinking or somewhere in between, come take a seat. Smile

And for those who would like to know where this all started, HERE is a link to the threads before this one.

Make THIS year THE year that you change your life, for the better. Smile

Have a Happy New Year, full of memories to treasure, not to forget.

well done obrigada and hang in there isindie WTF are you doing in Paris? What is your job?
hippo a warm welcome to you. i have a tendency to shove newbies onto the floor so i can rightfully claim a seat as a fully fledged lush, but I am back to travelling in the sidecar until I can get a grip, so sit comfortably. for now Grin
Interestingly, DH asked tonight how i felt about going onto 3 nights drinking, 4 nights off. he has NEVER tried to even acknowledge how much he drinks before, although he knows i come on here.says neither of us have a problem Hmm. He has also FINALLY been to a dentist to get his teeth checked. What the hell has got into him????

Fairenuff · 11/01/2012 22:32

Perhaps he's finally opening up to you ma, trying to tell you that he thinks he may drink too much/often? New year does make people reassess their lives and where they want to be by the end of the year.

Or it could be that pain forced him to see the dentist Grin

Morning SAF:)

Isindie, you managed 10 days, you can do it again! Don't let one slip up put you off your stride!

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 12/01/2012 08:19

morning Smile

HippoPottyMouth · 12/01/2012 09:06

Hello again and thank you for the lovely welcomes.
That's a very good point about one day at a time, I have noticed people saying that on here but it hadn't occurred that it might apply to me too! It does seem more manageable that way.

Mouse, I'm not sure what your pain is from, but your experience at the docs is shocking - they actually rang you to make appointment and then denied all knowledge?! I hope you manage to get hold of the specialist today. Keep ringing all day until you speak to them.

Mouseface · 12/01/2012 09:28

Morning, tis me, Mouse Smile

Sorry about my incoherent post last night ->

Well, Nemo is fast asleep and I'm not far behind him.

Goodnight my friends and supporters. It's been a loooooooooooooooooooong day of deceit of life but I've had enough and want out.

I will sleep tonight, I will have DH to listen moment.

I'm cold and tired and so so so so so ready for my bed.

Night night babes xxxxx

yes i know but pals could liase between all - see what happened and get it dealt with and put enough pressure on consultants that the shit is gotten together quickly. they also have access to everyone - know the med secs etc so can get through and get things sorted a lot more easily and quickly than a patient. anyway hope private works out and am glad pain is a bit better this morning.

Cristiane · 12/01/2012 10:40

morning everyone
Back at work
Feel pretty awful

Theala · 12/01/2012 10:46

Morning Cristiane! You're still ill then, you poor thing?

Morning all! I slept like a stone last night, for a change, so I'm feeling good today. Day 11 here, but I have planned to drink moderately this weekend (work's christmas weekend away) before settling back in to my 10-week strictly no alcohol/chocolate/chips/anything anyway nice training program.

Mouse :o I thought you sounded a bit out if it last night...

Cristiane · 12/01/2012 10:55

oh but mega sober

Morning to everyone

Glad you had a better night mouse

Cristiane · 12/01/2012 11:24

theala i'm just trying to get over the virus
And dd2 coming down with a cold whcih sparks her asthma and lay next to me jogging her little feet up and down on my thighs and sucking her thumb and coughing all night long. so we are all a bit tired
and the boiler broke! so still freezing. had hot water bottles last night

TheBossofMe · 12/01/2012 12:40

mouse saf speaks sense about PALS, worth contacting them anyway. Am really glad you had a better night.

Am going to have an early night tonight, am off the big medical check up tomorrow. Wont be able to eat anything from 9pm tonight, which is only just over an hour away, so need to get my butt in the kitchen to rustle up a meal. Keep your fingers crossed that things are looking better than last time. Liver function should definitely have improved, anyway Grin.

TheBossofMe · 12/01/2012 12:41

That should be "off for". Am really crap at typing on the iPad.

obrigada · 12/01/2012 12:55

Best of luck with your medical check up Boss:)

Christie, sorry you are still not feeling well :(

Mouse, look after yourself!

Mouseface · 12/01/2012 13:04

Saf - I will contact them at the hospital where the chronic pain doc is based, thank you xx

Theala - I know, I read it back and thought WFT was I on about. Grin I have to take the tablets every 12 hours and yesterday, I'd taken them earlier in the morning so then earlier at night! Whooops!

Stay & Play was good today, except today's choice of 'touch' play area was a giant rimmed table full of jelly! I've never seen so many red children in all my life! Covered from head to toe in the stuff. This was certainly a good day to have a child with Sensory Feeding Disorder! Wink Nemo was the cleanest child there.

Off to my friend's later for a Brew and to discuss the plans for Saturday at the spa, she's going to treat us to a bottle of fizz so I know that on Saturday, I will be drinking. It feels quiet nice to know in advance if you see what I mean. I can plan my day around luch and some champers.

It's almost like pulling the cover off the elephant because I don't have the pressure of thinking will I or won't I drink, there's no battle between the demon and myself wondering how I'll get through the day and it's rather nice to be able to step off the Bus for a few hours.

Knowing my lick I'll have a glass and fall fast asleep! Grin

We're at Nursery again in the morning for a couple of hours. When we were there on Wednesday it was busy but Friday's are nice and quiet. Lovely Smile.

Lunch time, tuna melt and a very large Brew to warm me up, it's cold here.

JWN - are you fully better my lovely?

Ma - are your plans for Saturday still the same? A meal out? I was wondering if you could get out of it and thought that a good dose of the poos might work? Keep him housebound so you don't have to go out with DH if you'd rather not, knowing that it'll probably end in a row Sad

A few laxatives in his coffee maybe? Wink

Christi -sorry you still feel poorly! Get some vitamins inside you x

Good afternoon lovely Babes, and Mif,

I have been a bit AWOL this week, despite my intention to post more regularly even if I bore everyone!

First week back at work for me, and it has all been a bit hectic, lots of people off with the sicky bug, so lots of cover, and much grumpiness! Actual work fine, senior management team not quite so much!!!

Mouse I am so sorry to hear of the cack up with your appointment. As you know, my sister has a lot of the same pain issues as you, and PALS has helped her out a great deal in the past. Sad to say, though, she has now booked a private appointment, just to see the Consultant whose name is on her card, but who she never actually sees (usually sees the nurse or registrar). I'm not saying that they don't help, but she wants someone to listen properly, about what's going on with her, instead of looking at their watch!!! I do know how time constrained the NHS is, and she doesn't really want to do it, but has got to the end of what she can bear.

Ma do you think Dh is making this effort for you? I can see that might be a worry. Too little, too late, after the love has gone, and other asinine song lyrics spring to mind! But.....maybe you will have a lovely dinner, and rediscover some things that you loved liked about him and could still?

I have written an essay!, and would write more, but have to finish off 3 reports for college tomorrow, so, love to all, back later.
xxxx

jesuswhatnext · 12/01/2012 16:59

BOING!! just a quick in and out! isinidi, get back on the bus you daft bugger!, honestly!!, fancy getting to day 10 and then letting the fucker win!

hippo, i can ONLY do this one day at a time, the thought of 'never' drinking again is simply too daunting, i aim to live for many years yet and the thought of not drinking till im 90 or something is just too ridiculously hard to get my head round, so, i dont think that far ahead! Grin, just for today will do me fine! Grin (i do think it helps that im one of those people that has never had a life plan or anything, i prefer to wait and see what happens rather than know where i will be in 5 years time, for me it makes life more exciting! Grin)

mouse, luv ya!! Grin

Fairenuff · 12/01/2012 17:19

When I stopped smoking I couldn't bear the thought of never having another cigarette so I promised myself if I lived to be 90 I could take up smoking again Grin. It might be my only 'pleasure' at that age. Of course, ten years on I have no interest in smoking any more, it just seems a strange and smelly thing to do Grin.

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 12/01/2012 17:40

Had a drink last night. Bleurgh.

I felt so awful this morning (and I didn't drink anywhere near my 'usual' intake) that it shocked me a bit.
