Hi Smile

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 14:45

new thread Grin

quick one from me as at work and should be doing something else! just placemarking....also feeling a bit low, think big work interview on Thursday is playing on my mind. Plus slightly odd atmosphere at work, sort of a post party lull. And my boss (who on Friday was offering me a job with him in his new firm) is now being really weird and barely speaking to me!

stayformulledwine · 05/12/2011 14:55

Did you not sleep with him at the party sponge? Thats probably it! Xmas Grin

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 15:02

stay Grin honestly the way he is behaving is as though something happened - yet it definitely didnt!

stayformulledwine · 05/12/2011 15:06

perhaps he is just having a bad day sponge or perhaps after seeing how amazing you looked at the party, he went home and had an x rated dream about you and now its all awkward. Xmas Grin yes probably that!

prettypurpledaisy · 05/12/2011 17:06

My date went well, not too many jokes about my cold sores :) I was very conscious and as usual they have gone down today, hope they clear up by the weekend.
Am not going to introduce him to dcs yet as they had a hideous experience with exh 'friend' last christmas and so will hang on for a while. His girls have no choice as they constantly see me in school :).
Really pleased for you Zany, glad it is all working out.

Hi ladies! Coffee went well, was nice to prove to myself I can do it. But he's not the one for me. I need to text him and tell him. I feel so bad! Arggg!

stayformulledwine · 05/12/2011 18:44

Great news shiney! I was starting to worry that you had gone and got married to that bloke. Grin

TimeForChristmasSpirit · 05/12/2011 18:54

Gosh, that's two normal ones in one day Xmas Hmm Something not quite right around here at the moment. Xmas Grin That's great news shiney, I hope it all goes well for you.

Sponge how much did you have to drink on Friday? Can you remember everything you said/did? Xmas Grin How did you leave things with your boss after his job offer? Maybe he is feeling a bit put out that you haven't leaped at the opportunity to work for him. Who the hell knows, you know what these blokes are like, mean, moody and sodding difficult to understand Xmas Wink

Don't feel bad Newbaby, saying thanks but no thanks is all part and parcel of internet dating. I pleased you had a nice time though Xmas Smile

Zanywany · 05/12/2011 18:54

I thought the same thing Shiney, was sure you were married off. I still post and things are going really well with Mr Yacht so of course you should still post.

Daisy the whole 'when should he meet the kids' thing is so hard I think. Mine are quite involved in my life, they know all my friends, will always ask what I've been up to when I'm not with them so I have been very open/honest from the start that I am dating but that they won't meet that person until I think it will be long term. Mine are meeting Mr Yacht next week.

Your boss may just have things on his mind Sponge if he is starting with a new company. How is your relationship with him, would you feel comfortable asking him if everything is OK

Found you and marking

How lovely that of 'ours' have found people, gives me hope that there might just be someone out there for me

Sorry to all the ones that are feeling a bit blue, hopefully just the pre holiday grumps, this time of year is tricky

I'm off on a date tonight, getting really jittery about this one. We really click on phone and text, so much so that he has made me really belly laugh daily. Jittery as it will be rotten if there is no attraction for either or mutual. Be so disappointing as without meeting we have had a lovely time

Meeting in a pub 30 miles from home, so hopefully worth it

Zanywany · 05/12/2011 19:17

When are you meeting him MsCello

Definately agree that this time of year can be tough. Just remember that all those couples you see together at this time of year are probable miserable. When I look back to when I was with my XH we probably looked like the typical 'family' but no one seeing us would realise my flesh would crawl when he hugged me in bed. I would take singleton over that any day.

Fingers crossed for you MrsC, I hope things are as good in the flesh as they are over the phone. Xmas Smile

adamschic · 05/12/2011 20:31

Hey Shiney, very pleased for you and keep posting.

Good luck Mrs C with your date.

I'm still messaging the 2 guys but life has suddenly got very busy. Going down South tomorrow with DD to an open day. Have to stay the night. Just found out she has an interview at the other end of the country so will have to go with her next week aswell. I don't have to but want to. Coupled with christmas do's, I am happy to just keep light hearted banter and not arrange anything.

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 20:35

MsC hope the date is going well. We seem to be having a few successes on the thread at the moment, so fingers crossed :)

Having given it some thought I wonder if my boss was a bit embarrassed about Friday, because as well as offering me a job (if I don't get the promotion for his job - which is what I'm interviewing for this week) he was also quite huggy/kissy with me (we get on well but not that well normally) which as I knew he was drunk I thought very little of, and certainly wasn't offended or anything. I suspect he thought he had overstepped the mark...so I had a chat with him about work stuff just after I posted and that seems to have cleared the air :) I have to keep on his good side...I might still want the job he's offering!

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow · 05/12/2011 20:36

On a first date should the man go to the woman?

I ask this because someone asked me out and suggested a town 15 miles away. I emailed back saying a certain pub (3 miles away from me instead of 15) would be easier for me and I never heard anything again!

Is this normal

Awh that's good Sponge, I'm pleased you got that sorted. Ahem, what's this boss of yours like then? Is he shagging dating material?

Notsuch Maybe he just hasn't given distance too much thought and has suggested a pub he likes. I wouldn't over think it at this stage but I do think you did the right thing suggesting a pub you know and feel comfortable with. I personally would only go to a pub I knew and felt confident that I could get home quickly and independently if need be.

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 20:53

notsuch - I think it should be whatever you're comfortable with, I don't think you suggesting somewhere 3 miles from you should have been a dealbreaker. Some men are just rude though, or not prepared to make an effort. Or both!

Shiney, good to see you back! so where did you meet this normal man and has he got any suitable friends for us singletons Grin

Time, absolutely not. Professionally he may be very useful to me, but not in any other respect!

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 20:53

Hello Daters :)

I am not one of you i.e I would like to be, but no luck so far

rejoined POF but only 2 guys emailed me in the last 10 days hmmmm....

do you email men there yourself?

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 21:01

Happy, I never used to send the first email, but I think it gives you more control that way (rather than waiting to be approached!). This is always assuming you can find someone worth contacting :)

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow · 05/12/2011 21:11

I email anyone I like the look of on POF. Why should my circle of available dates only include those men that have "chosen" me? I'd like to choose too.

adamschic · 05/12/2011 21:13

I would want them to come nearer to me tbh. See if they are prepared to put the effort in.
