I don't know what it is. I think in the past I was probably too sophisticated in my replies :) how easy it is to put someone off in just few memos :) I think I am the master of it afaik lol

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 21:54

Another question ladies&gents, have you ever attended any of those singles parties.
some are organised on pof, I've also seen other websites organising it

I love boogie and lately started going ceroc/free jive, so would go even if to dance :) the thing is in ceroc events ladies can ask guys to dance, so it's easy, whilst I haven't got a clue how other places are like

also if anyone would like to try one of those events in the SE England or London I am up for it

ohgawdherewegoagain · 05/12/2011 22:01

Can I join in please and say something about a non internet date related bloke please.... little bit sad today

Heleninahandcart · 05/12/2011 22:01

Good evening all :) I don't email the men, I also prefer them to make an effort to meet me somewhere I'm comfortable. I'm happy to meet them somewhere convenient for both of us, but if they don't make any effort I dismiss them. I always make sure they know I appreciate any effort involved if they've travelled a longer way to meet me.

Heleninahandcart · 05/12/2011 22:16

My criteria for meeting are

Be able to string a sentence together
Have read my profile properly
Not be 45-55 looking for women much younger than them

Not have a profile picture of them with any of the following
Flash car
Motorbike
Fish
Cock on show
Bad underpants
Cock on show under bad underpants
Mullet
Drunk friend
half his ex wife's face cut out
Facial hair that gets mistaken for Movember support
Baseball cap clearly hiding a bald head
Messy bedroom
70's style leather sofa

If they get past that then

Must have enough gumption to be able to work out for themselves how to get to the venue
Not keep me waiting
Must not dribble whilst looking at my legs when I sit down
Must not keep poking bits of me out of context

Most importantly, must offer me a cake with my coffee Grin

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 22:18

"meet m"e on pof
What is it, appreciation of my photo vote of confidence?

None of those guys bother to view my profile anyway

have you ever used it?

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 22:28

Happy, the meet me thing is a bit of a crock I think. Anyone I say yes to never contacts me. Anyone who says yes to me never contacts me...same thing with favourites (always getting guys add me as favourite and then - nada)

I'm honestly done with internet dating, think I will take my chances in RL :)

hatesponge · 05/12/2011 22:30

ohgawd please join in (there is no standing on ceremony here!)...and tell us about non internet man

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 22:33

hatesponge I wish I could to go out with someone and get even a slimmest chance to meet new people
that is the curse of living in a city and far away from where I was brought up

I know there are those Meetup's in my area - need to look into those too

one other thing I would love to try is birdwatching - no idea if that would be place to make friends :)

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 22:33

ohgawdherewegoagain - please do :)

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 22:35

Heleninahandcart - do such gems exist?
:o

LittleWarmHouse · 05/12/2011 23:26

ohgawd please spill the beans! Everybody is welcome here.

Helenina I salute your fastidiousness.

I am taking a break from the Very Nice Man this week as my DS is staying with me and tbh after a full on weekend we both felt a bit married which freaked us out a bit. It was lovely and relaxed and fun but neither of us are ready for that much involvement. At least I hope we are both on the same page!

Anyway he met my parents for lunch one day and I took his out shopping on another (I may kidnap his mum because she is lovely!) so most of the hurdles are surmounted. We have agreed not to involve DC yet to keep it simple.

And next week we are going away on a romantic trip to Europe so I will be panting to see him by then!

happyAvocado · 05/12/2011 23:35

LittleWarmHouse - sounds great ;0
how long have you been seeing him?

SkinnedAlive · 05/12/2011 23:43

Bah humbug. I am fed up. I met a guy I really liked recently, who I think also really likes me Xmas Smile However, he is my dr, so I really shouldn't ask him out. On the other hand, life's too short. Most of my friends think I should go for it, as he is a specialist and technically I am already discharged from his care (and I have only seen him once). I live abroad in a country where people do not obey rules in the same way as in the UK. If he has a girlfriend/ is horrified etc etc he just has to say no. I think at the very least he would be flattered though Xmas Wink as he was very definately flirting with me during my appointment.

Anyway, I am scardy cat and will not ask him, but I wish for once I could meet someone in the right time and place for a change

Heleninahandcart · 05/12/2011 23:43

happyAvocado apparently no, they don't exist Confused

WarmHouse its a jungle out there, we all need out survival tactics. Cake is mine Grin

watchoutforthatsnail · 06/12/2011 09:24

morning all.

my date is at 12. jumper is ready! lol. Bloody pleased its just a coffee as i have a grand total of £12 in my purse until friday. meh.

We were texting a bit last night, all got a bit flirty flirty but hes still blonde, and hes still 28. I shall report back later :)

skinned - im not sure on asking your doctor out to be honest...

little warm - sounds like its going well.

avacardo - i think somone on here has been to a meet up... adams??? said it was dire and best to avoid.

sponge - glad you have it sorted with the boss and have to say, you did you look bloody stunning ( nosed at your pics) you have done amazing with your weight loss and im a little bit jealous!

shiney - ' a normal man' what?!?!??!!?!? they still exist?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!!?

also, im a little fucked off this morning, school gate mums fuck me off. One was moaning about play tickets and i said i had managed to get two more and was pleased as i didnt want to have to go with my ex husband esp when our nisi went through yesterday, that i would have, should it have come to it, but im pleased i didnt have to. She said ' yes, i know how these things work, i watch JEREMY KYLE' Xmas Angry

then another quipped up ' i only got married a few years ago, told my husband if we got married that was it, he was stuck with me forever'

ggggrrrrrrrrrrr.

TimeForChristmasSpirit · 06/12/2011 09:35

Morning Xmas Smile

Enjoy your coffee date watch, I hope you have a nice time. Ignore the school bitches mums, there's a lot of envy at the school gates you know Xmas Wink I only mingle with the fun and friendly mums these days, I don't give the snotty sarky ones the pleasure of my company.

Avocado watch is right, adams has been to a meet up. I've heard about them and they don't get rated very well. You have to wear a name badge Xmas Grin

Hope everyone else is ok?

LittleGingerbreadHouse · 06/12/2011 09:42

Christmas is coming at the Little House

avocado I chatted to the VNM for 2 months on POF while I was away doing a trip/mad adventure over the summer and he was recovering from surgery. We wrote each other off romantically as we had different obsessions hobbies. But when we eventually met for a friendly drink it was instant attraction.

He renewed my Girlfriend Contract after 6 weeks and the term expires this weekend so we will have to renegotiate Grin He has many minor flaws, as do I, but he is just easy company, chatty and adoring and Very Good in Bed. And his mum and dad are lovely! That is my new watchword. Look At The Parents!

Watch ignore the school gate chat. Those women are not your friends and they mean nothing to you. They are just point scoring.

Skinned Ask away, but if he has integrity he will take you off his caseload. Dating a patient is a sackable offence in most countries.

Snapespeare · 06/12/2011 10:00

oh here you all are! :)

place marking, saying hello to new folks gasping in astonishment at 'normal' men and nothing to report as far as me.

ChildofIsis · 06/12/2011 10:11

Hello all, I would love to have a date or two.
Joined smooch but I think it was too soon after xh left as I found it hard to cope with the attention.
Also xh doesn't have DD to stay over so I don't really have any free nights.
So I can't even chat with the locals.
I will have to see if I can afford a babysitter over the xmas period.
I can't bear the thought of being in by myself every night during the holidays.

happyAvocado · 06/12/2011 10:11

I've placed few winks at a handful of guys but so far no response - I think they are scared of independent women who know their mind:)

happyAvocado · 06/12/2011 10:12

*LittleGingerbreadHouse8 - like the idea of the GirlfriendContract, have you got a b/f one for him to sign ;)

LittleGingerbreadHouse · 06/12/2011 10:47

Avocado I posted on an earlier thread for ideas on Terms and Conditions (including Morning Tea in Bed, Blow Jobs, and other deals)

I think a renewable contract is the way forward Xmas Smile If one of us isn't happy to renew it is over. Keeps us on our toes. I can't believe it is twelve weeks already!

Now he wants me to try his hobby (which while exhausting and initially expensive would get me fitter and slimmer). Mine is a summer one so he is safe till April.

And regarding the scared men - those ones aren't worth your time, standards woman standards!

stayformulledwine · 06/12/2011 11:08

Morning folks. time are you around just now?

Zanywany · 06/12/2011 11:35

Morning everyone. Pissed off today as once again my bloody car wouldn't start.

Ignore the school gate bitch's Watch how rude [shocked]

LOve the idea of a contract Little glad things are still going well and that you get on with his Mum.

I'm seeing Mr Yacht tonight but not till later as he is on a late shift Xmas Grin
