When would YOU expect him home?

My DH went to a nightclub this morning (a daytime dance party). It started at ten this morning. I'm here with the four of them clearing up after our news year's house party last night.

What time do you think he ought to come home?

tillykins · 01/01/2006 20:22

actually, make that 10.05am

WideWebWitch · 01/01/2006 20:22

Well, I'd have been happiest with er, lunchtime today? Any later and I'd be furious.

MistressMary · 01/01/2006 20:22

What time do you think he should be home?

beansprout · 01/01/2006 20:23

My god, just how excited is he that it's new year?!!!

hoxtonchick · 01/01/2006 20:23

has he called???

edam · 01/01/2006 20:23

um, I'd want him home before now to help me clear up!

Mum2OneAndBump · 01/01/2006 20:23

So he's been out 10.5 hours already?

How often does he go out?

I'd expect a very nice day of relaxing while he does everything tomorrow, definitely Whatever state his head's in!

Carmenere · 01/01/2006 20:25

Have you spoken to him?

Spidermama · 01/01/2006 20:25

I've been attempting to summon him - to no avail. He did leave a message to say, 'It finishes at ten so I'll probably stay 'til the end'.

It means he's unlikely to be home before 11.30 and we've got more friends coming for lunch tomorrow.

Now I'm torn. He deserves to have fun because he works so hard. But I'd never give myself fun for that long.

I'm very, very .

I mean what kind of a state is he in now?

I suppose I'd be OK with 2pm or 3 pm latest.

beansprout · 01/01/2006 20:26

So you had a house party last night and now he has been out all day as well?!

Carmenere · 01/01/2006 20:26

Has he been 'up' for the last 36 hours?

Spidermama · 01/01/2006 20:27

To be fair the last time he went out was probably New Year 2005, but I didn't expect to be doing bed time tonight let alone have an evening alone. I'm going to try to blow some money on a curry - if they're open. That'll show him.

I'd not be cross - I'd just make very, very sure that he knew that I thought it was fantastic he'd had such a fab time and start planning a weekend away with a girlfriend - after all, NYE and all the clearing up and lunch tomorrow deserves a whole weekend later in the year, right?

7777777 · 01/01/2006 20:27

i wouldnt have let him go, id definitly have been on the phone by now having a moan. if you go out for an evening its generally 3to4ish hours so id have wanted him back by lunch time

tribpot · 01/01/2006 20:28

I'm v intrigued about an adult drinking activity that starts at 10 in the morning, on New Year's Day.

Sincerely hoping he does stay til the end, wakes up with a banging hangover tomorrow morning and you calmly announce you'll be off to the spa for 12 hours ...

Witchycat · 01/01/2006 20:28

Assuming he'd asked if I was ok about it then I wouldn't mind him being out all day but I'd be pretty pissed off if either he wasn't home in time to help put kids to bed or if he was later than he'd promised.

He owes you a day & evening off (or if you don't want to be away from the kids that long then 2 or 3 afternoons)!

Spidermama · 01/01/2006 20:28

Carmenere we did sleep last night. We had a pm/early evening party here and went to bed around 1am.

Gawd! I dunno .... Give 'im an inch eh?
