Cos me and my mates are sick of staying in gossiping and drinking wine on a Friday night. Why does there seem to be more single women then men?? Smile

Gah! Now I am lost in the stupid quiz thing on that site. And my first match was someone called Needy_Mike. I think not, indeedy do. In fact, I'm on page 4 of my matches and, so far, de nada.

Get your coat Gin...

SirGin · 26/07/2011 17:45

Charge up the tens machine Sarah

lubeybooby · 26/07/2011 17:46

Oooh eck. It's usually much better than that! I think a normal search is better than their recommended 'matches' though that's for sure.

BelleDameSansMerci · 26/07/2011 17:50

Needy Mike? ROFL...

SarahStratton · 26/07/2011 17:54

FS who in their right minds calls themselves needy mike? Guaranteed to make me run for the hills.

SirGin · 26/07/2011 17:57

could be worse. could have been needymike21

I couldn't use SirGin. It suggested SirGin_Taco ?!

SarahStratton · 26/07/2011 18:01

It suggested LolaLolaiishious to me. I declined that on the grounds of utter naffness.

WTF did the taco bit come from?

SarahStratton · 26/07/2011 18:04

Riiiiiiiiight. Now I have a man with an octopus on his head

SirGin · 26/07/2011 18:04

god knows, it's American so maybe they think people will remember it.

Ah, this one's been resurrected! Never got my date Sad, doesn't seem to be any eligible men in my neck of the woods...

katkitya · 28/07/2011 01:19

Wasn't there some action on here?

Not in the last three days that I've been standing here in my posing pouch pulling moves.

< get's dressed, flounces >

Velvetunderground · 28/07/2011 14:24

Maybe you should start a new thread called "mumsnet dateing" repost and then invite suitable people to pm you or something?

Kind of like setting up your own dateing service!

SirGin · 28/07/2011 14:28

< takes clothes off again >

hmmmmm. I suspect I'd get told off by HQ

Velvetunderground · 28/07/2011 14:32

Not if it was just a thread asking for single 40 something women who fancy a date? No different from this thread.

I think women out number men so there should in theroy be someone suitable, i would think.

And a new thread would get more people looking at it.

Velvetunderground · 28/07/2011 14:36

And put your clothes back on - women want romance not a nudist Wink

SirGin · 28/07/2011 14:51

< puts clothes back on >

eandh · 28/07/2011 14:58

Yep a close family friend (dd1 godfather) although strictly speaking he isnt 40's he is 38, lovely lovely bloke had a long term relationship that ended about 5 years ago and never met anyone since. Shame as he is def one of the 'nice guys'

ChaoticAngelofGryffindor · 28/07/2011 16:20

Just seen this thread but better late than never Grin

I'm looking for a man from 29-45 (with a certain amount of flexibility on age)
No children - I wouldn't make a good step parent so I'm not going there.
Doesn't call women birds Hmm (or any other derogatory names)
Is (quite) tall 5ft 10in upwards.
Nice smile, it's one of the first things I usually notice about men.

He doesn't need to have loads of money or a high flying job. I'd rather have someone kind, caring and considerate. Also atm I don't have loads of money as I'm looking for a job so someone who is willing to do things that don't cost the earth all the time so I can pay my way.

ChaoticAngelofGryffindor · 28/07/2011 16:27

Forgot to say... from use of dating sites most men seem to take long walks in the countryside so maybe those of us who are looking should start looking there Grin

mrbloke · 28/07/2011 16:29

Well I'll throw my hat in the ring.
I'm a 40 something bloke and I'm divorced and single.
5ft 11" and pretty fit as I run and swim a lot.
I'm gainfully employed and I have grown up kids who live with their mum.
Oh, and I have a massive cockatoo as I'm a bird lover.
And it talks.
Send me a message if you want to know more. :)

SirGin · 28/07/2011 16:29

I'll keep an eye out for you
