Hello

I'm Mouse Smile

Welcome aboard The Brave Babe's Battle Bus. There are a whole host of lovely posters here who will support your journey to sobriety, however you choose to get there.

We are a Bus full of drinkers, non-drinkers and those who are somewhere in between.

BUT - we will never judge or leave a poster out in the cold. So, find a seat and settle down for the journey ahead.

And HERE is the last thread and those before it too. Just follow the links to read the journeys so far.

Hello all,
Anyone around?

I have just got back from watching Dh play cricket, but I came home early as it was so cold! Glad I went though, as the sight of him in his cricket whites, all hot from running, took me back a bit, it's the first time I've seen him play for years. Made me come over all a bit Jane Austin Blush.

Silver how are you doing, I don't keep asking, because I don't want to pry, I hope you are ok.

How are all other babes tonight?
xx

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 13/06/2011 21:17

Isinde sorry, just posted, didn't read. I hope DD2 is feeling better, and that DD1 doesn't catch it!
xx

BBwannaB · 13/06/2011 21:32

cor! I had a panic then, couldn't find the thread - not enough traffic to keep it at the top of the list in relationships.. I thought Mumsnet towers had deleted us, it really was a panicky feeling, how would I cope without you all?

Lostsock · 13/06/2011 21:40

Evening Smile
Thanks for making me feel so welcome
Am doing fine -sticking to my tea .
Feeling very pleased with myself because I cycled about 8 miles today -trying to increase my exercise atm but cannot stand the gym . Blimey my poor old legs ache Smile

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 13/06/2011 21:41

BB yes, it has all been a bit quiet tonight, I hope everyone is ok.

Probably busy doing RL stuff, but I am on downtime now, big mug of peppermint tea, and waiting for Dh to get back. It's dark now, so I hope he's stopped batting!

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 13/06/2011 21:45

Hello, Lostsock,
Have you ever read the book "Nowhere" I think it's called by Cecilia Aherne, it's all about lost things?

Lostsock · 13/06/2011 21:48

Er No -cant say I have !

Lostsock · 13/06/2011 21:52

Hahahaha! Just realised why you asked me that -had forgotten my name change -am not usually lostsock I name changed for this thread -in my head I am someone else Grin

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 13/06/2011 22:17

Just down from the shower! Dh not in yet, must have had a very good game!

Lostsock, sorry, you must think I'm a bit nutty Smile, it's just that your name really reminded me of the book!

In my head I'm someone else too, a lot of the time!

justonemorethen · 13/06/2011 22:23

Trying to cut down now that I have nothing to stress about (Uni over). t's soooo boring though in the evening. I am a single parent and I really enjoyed my evenings with wine. What on earth do you do for fun without it? I obviously can't go out, Wii is dull, I read a book but it's nicer with wine etc etc . I've eaten everything in the house and posted on here about everything. It's not the same...

GollyHolightly · 13/06/2011 22:23

I'm just glad I've not been out of my head recently Grin

Evening ladies. Hope you're all well Smile and have had good days. I really must get into doing some exercise, I used to be a regular gym bunny type, that went by the wayside several years ago Hmm and I often hear people taking about going running 'n stuff. Not that I'm going to be running anywhere, my knees are too knackered for that. Perhaps i'll get the wii fit out again.

Went to a meeting tonight even though I really didn't want to, I'm glad I went even though it wasn't the most comfortable place to be (very drunk man there). Unfortunately me and the woman I was sat next to got the giggles and really struggled to get them under control Blush Not cool, I don't think! Oh well, I doubt we drove anyone to drink Wink

jesuswhatnext · 13/06/2011 22:28

evening!! - bb, i get that panicky feeling if i cant find the thread!

lost, you are doing well, hang on in there!! Smile

now, down to business, wedding outfits!! OMG!!, i hover between thrilling anticipation and screaming ad dabs panic!, dd has stated that she wants me to wear leopard print! Grin, appearently its my signiture trade mark! Hmm, i wanted to go as classy as i could muster but she is insistant that i have my usual 'essex uniform'! Grin thurso, where did you find your dresses? i am scouring the wedding shops for the right look, dh has seen a suit for himself in viv westwood that we all like, dd has found a young dress designer for the wedding dress straight out of st martins who is fantastically clever, i, otoh am hanging fire, i have some weight to lose (and flab to tone up!), i have a year and a bit to do it in so im going to see how i get on over the next few months! - btw, do you have to wear a hat to ds do? i loathe hats, im too short, i have a tiny head so any hat is always too big and i look like a bloody mushroom! (i hate fasinators even more, naff naff naff things!)

MA, talking of weight to lose (not that im assuming you are fat!) are you losing any with your running? - i am hitting the gym most mornings now and i can definatly feel a bit of a difference!, im not dieting as such, just being a careful with what im eating, tbh, i like my food too much to ever be a skinny minny!

jesuswhatnext · 13/06/2011 22:32

justonemore - i have to ask, what is so much fun when you drink that you have to so worried by it that you post on here? - surely, if drinking was that much fun you would be avoiding this thread like the plague!

GollyHolightly · 13/06/2011 22:37

JWN - I find that there's a fine line with leopard print, it's either very sexy (in a 'fuck me' kind of way) or Bett Lynch. I think it probably depends on the volume of the leopard print. So, perhaps a hat and shoes, and possibly a jacket at a push but not the whole outfit Grin I love leopard print shoes.

justone one thing I've learned which has been very useful for me is that if I enjoy alcohol I cannot control it, and if I control it I cannot enjoy it. This is why I'm on the bus Grin

jesuswhatnext · 13/06/2011 22:40

golly - me and leopard print have been inseperable for many years now! Grin, i usually wear either a jacket or scarf or bag or shoes ( i have an extensive shoe collection Blush)

jesuswhatnext · 13/06/2011 22:42

oh and btw, that line about not enjoying when controling alcohol is brilliant, bang on afaiac!

jesuswhatnext · 13/06/2011 22:43

and another thing, justonemore, my post to you sounded confrontational, im very sorry, i certainly didnt mean it to!

venusandmars · 14/06/2011 09:09

Morning all. I'm in the middle of a busy week. Too much to do, too little time. But today, I will not be drinking Smile

WasOnceAnEight · 14/06/2011 09:29

Morning babes.

Still not drinking - into my second week and it's getting easier. I'm appreciating my sleep, feeling better about myself (both physically and mentally) and have decided that picking up that first drink is not a good idea. Well maybe that's a lie - if I could stop at one, maybe two drinks (which are the ones that gives me that fuzzy feel-good factor) then maybe it might not be such a bad idea, but seeing that I can't stop at one or two, I'll stick to the soft drinks, for today, because it's easier than getting pissed and dealing with the consequences.

Hope everyone is well - been really busy with work but will try and catch up.

WasOnceAnEight · 14/06/2011 09:30

Actually that reads wrong - I'm over a fortnight in to not picking up, not my second week!

bafanatheSober · 14/06/2011 10:02

Morning All

How's everyone doing?
Not alot going on here, eat, work, sleep. No drinking though Grin
Glad to see new faces - waves like a loon!
Loves to see all the old faces - waves like a loon again!

Looks at scones from yesterday longingly, may go and bake this afternoon.

Bafana
