Please forgive this self-indulgent thread, it is only my second in several years, so I am owed one I think

A thread I was on last night made me finally realise that the ridiculously-ballsy caricature of a reputation that goes before
this name was devaluing the message I was trying to convey. It was the gaslighting one, FWIW, but this isn't really about that.

I am not going anywhere, I love MN too much but AF has to go

Just wanted to get it off my chest, and hopefully stop the "where is AF" speculation that sometimes can go along with a prolific poster suddenly stopping posting.

I think you've made a wise decision. In the Ed Vaizey chat you made a couple of very salient points which I don't think he answered seriously. His response implied he was treating you as a bit of a joke, because of your name.

Or maybe I just don't like Ed Vaizey and try to find fault with everything he does.
