Please forgive this self-indulgent thread, it is only my second in several years, so I am owed one I think

A thread I was on last night made me finally realise that the ridiculously-ballsy caricature of a reputation that goes before
this name was devaluing the message I was trying to convey. It was the gaslighting one, FWIW, but this isn't really about that.

I am not going anywhere, I love MN too much but AF has to go

Just wanted to get it off my chest, and hopefully stop the "where is AF" speculation that sometimes can go along with a prolific poster suddenly stopping posting.

It is weird when people change names, though - there's another poster i know who changed her name for anonymity (can't spell it), and it was sooo nice when she went back to her proper name.
(but the name she chose was not like her iyswim, so you've got to choose something that reflects you.
and that doesn't lend itself so easily to good seasonal namechanges. )

AF are you mad? I joined mn when pg and old to get advice and used my kids initials to make user name.Then i realised the real mn and have since regretted not having a more fitting name,and now you are wussing out and opting for a nice safe one.
