Lessons my father taught me ------

My father always taught me that if a man ever shows the slightest bit of disinterest in you, walk away. If he doesn't call you or doesn't try to make plans to see you again, forget him. I used to think he didn't understand!!! I used to think he didn't get it. Turns out nothing has changed in 60 years when it comes to love and courtship.
If a man truly loves you, he'll find a way.
Don't make excuses for a man not calling you. If he wants to be with you, he'll do his damnest to be with you.

Some of these have brought tears to my eyes!

My Dad would say "Be nice to everyone on the way up because you never know who you will bump into on the way back down"

"Dont let the bastards get you down!"

And one to make the feminists flap "All men are bastards" but to be fair to him he was dying, I was 16 and he didn't know how to help/protect me so, in his way, he was telling me to expect the worse
