The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Carry On Past The Homebrew In The Shed!

1000 replies

HammerMouseOfHorrors · 28/10/2010 17:45

Hello, I'm Mouse. Smile

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus. You can get on at any point in the journey, there is plenty of room, it's free to ride and there is always someone who will be along to hold your hand over the speedbumps!

So, no matter where you are in your quest to quit the booze, join us for support, advice and a fair few laughs along the way Grin

There is no judging, no cliques, just real poster with real problems being real and honest!

Come and meet the others.....

Here is the previous thread where you can read all of the threads so far, including JWN's original thread and the reason we are all here.

OP posts:

Just a quick thiught... JWN your post rang true with me. Life can be totally shitty at times.. It can feel like there are no solutions only problems, and that sometimes for me, that I am the only one trying to fix things. But I am learning that no matter how crap my day is, or how awful I feel, IT WILL PASS and when it does - and you haven't resorted to a shit facing, it feels wonderful. Smile

Dipso · 06/11/2010 10:10

JWN you made me cry too with your post, it was beautiful and true. Witchety, lovely words too.

I've also just admitted to an ex-boyfriend that's been suggesting we have another go that I'm an alcoholic. I know I shouldn't see him again because the booze was inextricably bound-up in our relationship, and I hope that makes him back off!

Dipso · 06/11/2010 10:11

Lol at shit facing Miss P

jesuswhatnext · 06/11/2010 10:39

desiretochange · 06/11/2010 10:54

Morning everyone, ended up having a bottle of wine last night, sore head this morning, but but stopped at the one bottle (which is very strange for me) and drank water while the others continued with beer and wine (not mixed together:))
No shit facing for me today, am so not going to waste another weekend being hungover.

Silver66 · 06/11/2010 11:44

Morning Campers

Where shall we go today me dears???

Grin xxx

Silver66 · 06/11/2010 11:53

JWN - pass me that steam cleaner - Gerald needs it more than you!!

Whitenapteen · 06/11/2010 13:04

Well, what a positive start to the weekend. Friday night seems to have passed either sober or controlled. May the weekend continue in the same vain.

Silver Not sure about today, but would Gerald be old enough to join the vintage London to Brighton run early tomorrow? It's a lovely event - starts at Hyde Park Corner at 7 am, see the cars set off then breakfast at one of the hotels nearby.

Silver66 · 06/11/2010 13:12

Perfect White - will be there at 7.00am on the dot

Grin xxx

dementedma · 06/11/2010 16:56

wow Gerald looks lovely and clean now - good job. delighted sorry i wasn't there to help Grin
am considering having a glass of wine or two tonight but in a controlled sort of way, rather than craving it and just necking it. does that make sense? i might, I might not but i do feel i could do either.
Like the others, I enjoyed doing family stuff last night instead of sitting in drinking. have a good Saturday y'all

venusandmars · 06/11/2010 17:09

demented I'd say that if you feel as though you could do either, then why not give it a miss. Then you'll know the outcome of that option.

thursoback · 06/11/2010 17:29

Ma baby,
At the risk of being annoying, I echo Venus a hundred times.

I'm so pleased I didn't have the first one last night, I was persuading myself to really, but knew in my heart that after that first one my control goes out of the window, my Dh knew that too. Also even if I had only had a couple of glasses, it just wouldn't have been worth the beating up that I would have given myself this morning.

Of course, we're all different, and this may not be the case for you. But, if you think it might be, I would say pour a fizzy (insert softie of choice) and have the lovely night that you had yesterday.

Hope you don't mind my input.
XXX :) xxx

thursoback · 06/11/2010 17:40

Actually, I think you should ignore me,
I just went to start preparing supper, and thought WTF can't I have a drink, just one to have that lovely tingling, as it goes down, and general lovely air of Saturday night.

I know why I can't, and I won't, but feel really bl**dy grumpy about it at the mo.[cross face]

Silver66 · 06/11/2010 17:47

stick with it Thurso and Ma - think about how good you will feel tomorrow xxxxx

thursoback · 06/11/2010 17:55

AND.. I've just drunk 318 sodding calories in appletise. Sad

Silver66 · 06/11/2010 18:13

less than a glass of wine tho! very quiet on here tonight Hmm x

thursoback · 06/11/2010 18:19

It is very quiet.
I thought it was me scaring everyone off with my rant.

I'm really sorry. I'm over it now, it doesn't take long for the feeling to go, but, my, is it powerful when it hits.

Also I think Dh may have been lulled into false sense of security. I don't want to ruin how happy he feels for me, but I think he thinks it's easier than it is.

I do know that the answer is to talk to him, but I sort of don't want to ruin his day.

What are you doing tonight silver, also I hope mouse is ok.

Whitenapteen · 06/11/2010 18:26

Hi silver, thurso, venus and ma and anyone else just lurking.

Thurso - am resisting the urge, Elderflower in hand. Ma - hope that you are happy with whichever way you decide. Silver - Gerald looks gleaming - hope you are putting your feet up. Venus - enjoy the party.

Silver66 · 06/11/2010 19:01

Hi laydees

I'm sitting in living room appreciating real fire with no DD (sleepover) to annoy me- DP just home so he's doing that instead as no DD to wind up.

Mouse is suffering from side effects of her anti biotics and feeling very sick.

Am signing off now as it's TIME FOR TELLY

Nite babes - stay strong Wink xxxx

dementedma · 06/11/2010 20:16
