LOL at 'bittern-related romance'

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/02/2010 14:28

Could have been one of those topical scenes they drop in at short notice to seem current, 'cause there has been coverage recently of how bittern numbers are increasing & they're appearing in all sorts of unexpected places.

Ponders · 11/02/2010 14:32

I don't think bitterns are quite important enough for a topical insert, DP

(Previous ones have been eg 9/11 or Princess Di)(or the big freeze in January, when Borsetshire was knee deep in mud instead of snow like everybody else)

DorotheaPlenticlew · 11/02/2010 15:25

Wot no bitterns?

Perhaps you're right ...

Anyone enjoy the row at the dinner table when Helen announced she wanted a baby?

PrincessFiorimonde · 18/02/2010 14:31

Yup, Bendy. Been expecting something like this, esp. since Helen's discussion with Ian the other day. Great sense of occasion, tho' - father's birthday meal. (Tho' Tony is a real pain, I know.)

BendyBob · 18/02/2010 14:34

I can't think of a single occasion at my parents when we've had a heated debate about sperm donation round the dinner table. Or any other location in their house come to that

piprabbit · 19/02/2010 13:26

I think Helen will have the baby - but not by anonymous sperm donation exactly.....

I think she will have a baby with Ian so that they can both be parents...... And Adam will be very supportive.

BendyBob · 19/02/2010 14:30

Oooo good one! That's an interesting possibility.

onlyjoinedforoffers · 19/02/2010 14:37

PIPs boyfriend or Fizz as he was calling her sounds a right pain in the bahooky

PrincessFiorimonde · 19/02/2010 18:26

Piprabbit - I wondered that too, but then thought that might be too similar to the storyline with Ian and Mags a while back?

Re: graffiti: is Jude in fact Banksy?

I miss Tiger and Pusscat, I can't bear to think of Matt in the clink tending to his pansies..................

Anette's gone now, I think Helen will bump into Leon the Rat at some point soon and he will let slip about him shagging Anette and Helen with put 2 and 2 together, but still forgive Annette when she should be bitch slapping her round the face.

Phil Archer's funeral episode had me sobbing, not sobbed like that since Joe Grundy leanrned that his Canadian lady friend had passed away one of the Grundy boys had done him a photo in a photo frame of the two of them together, which he gave him on a quiet summers evening on a bench on the church yard.

Ruth's voice, 'Daaaaaaaaaavid' in that bad North East accent, suprised he does not pop her in the sheep dip to shut her up.

PrincessFiorimonde · 19/02/2010 21:44

yuk, yuk and thrice yuk. I have always hated the 'Tiger' and 'Pussycat' nicknames.

apart from that, Carocaro, you might be right about the horrid Leon.

and - ahhhh! - quite right about Phil's death, and also Joe's friend Mildred.

Ruth is indeed a wondrous nuisance to behold.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 21/02/2010 11:00

Although I really dislike Helen, I thought Tony was a HUUUUGE arsehole to her when she raised the donor-pregnancy issue. Couldn't believe some of his remarks! You can see where she gets her sensitivity from
