I'll just have to start one then.

OP posts:

I was more worried taht she is delusional that her 18/9 year old daughter would want her parents pitching up in first few weeks at uni (note to self to remember this if the time comes to me)

retiredgoth · 07/10/2008 18:23

....I am now troubled by thoughts of Jennifer's underwear

I fear tonights sleep may be unpleasantly disturbed.....

poppy34 · 08/10/2008 10:13

well its obviously quite hard to dislodge these days given how often brian has gone elsewhere...

OrmIrian · 08/10/2008 14:50

Does anyone begin to find Adam increasingly petulant these days.

Much as I sympathise about Ambridge Heat and Power, they were all being a bit silly weren't they?

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 08/10/2008 15:01

Poopy - agree about the tractor and John! Am concvinced that the Chrisopther/Alice stroy line is becuase of budget cuts at the BBC na dhte need to re-cylce characters rather than contract with new actors . Lilian's voices drives me mad, but \I have a sneaking regard for Brian in a wierd - Michael-O'Leary-cionoclastic way and I do think he has teh most listenable voice.

poppy34 · 08/10/2008 20:00

ohh mrsguy I agree re brian... despite all his ways still like him lots

PatsyCline · 08/10/2008 20:21

It's Brian's voice that makes him hard to resist. His voice is gorgeous plus he is very clever in a ruthless way and clearly very virile. Oh, I've just come over all over Mills and Boon!

I bet Jenifffffer has a scraggy neck.

and big bags under here eyes after looking after Rurrgghhuuuggg

PatsyCline · 08/10/2008 20:26

And a halo floating above her head because she has sacrificed everything for Brian and Rurrgghhuuuugg.

poppy34 · 08/10/2008 21:31

although Rurrgghhuuuugg may soon realise that jenny's attitude to him is not uncomplicated.. they keep mentioning that memorial bench so reckon she may snap one day and tie him to it as punishment

Lilymaid · 08/10/2008 21:35

The Archers class barrier is bound to remain - the Archer clan can have a bit of fun (or a child in Jennifer's case) with the rough but they will eventually marry into their own class - or the one above it (as with Lizzie). Shula had a "thing" with Neil Carter when they were young - back in the middle ages.

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 09/10/2008 10:53

trouble is, if you look at photos of many of the cast they are totally not as you'd imagine they are meant to look - Kate was totally wrong imo !

poppy34 · 09/10/2008 17:09

mm.. the cast photos do totally destroy it

2Eliza2 · 09/10/2008 21:22

Yes--lol indeed, poppy34!

I know, MaryAnn, I would feel so terrible if I gave poor old Pat more reason for angst.

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 13/10/2008 15:56

oh dear, poor Peggy !!

poppy34 · 13/10/2008 20:43

am no great fan of peggy but it does make a good change from pat/tony and the mortgage...

poppy34 · 14/10/2008 20:32

ffs at pip today - ruth may be annoying but she is not completely sanctimonious so that must be from peggy's side of family

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 14/10/2008 22:35

didn't hear it today poppy but can imagine...

ooh, listening to the repeat now - see what you mean !

finknottle · 15/10/2008 14:17

Just listened to last night's repeat having not listened for ages - Izzy has a really odd & v annoying voice
Cows calving, polymers & monomers (?), teenage pg scares, can't wait till d is that age

MorticiaAnnSpookington · 15/10/2008 14:18

yes, she is talking as if through gritted teeth, which you probably would being with Pip...

finknottle · 15/10/2008 14:22

I remember Pip's birth, iykwim. Was listening on a tram to a cassette (thanks to expat Archers network of posted cassettes) and had to turn the sound down as Ruth was howling so loudly I was getting v odd looks
She was as pain as a baby, I recall.

Lilymaid · 15/10/2008 14:28

Poppy - Pip isn't related by blood to Peggy (Peggy was 1st married to Phil's brother so she is a Great Aunt by marriage). However, she could well get her sanctimonious attitude from the not so holy St Shula, her aunt and an Archer by birth!

poppy34 · 15/10/2008 17:32

good point lilymaid - must be shula gene outing...
