I'll just have to start one then.

OP posts:
R4 · 04/03/2009 14:25

Oh my goodness. Just heard the lunchtime repeat!

Has Tom got his money yet? Has he pee'd off Brian before he actually got the investment in his bank account? Is Brian going to demand to be paid out for his share of the Sausage Kingdom and Tom won't have the money!?

orangina · 04/03/2009 14:41

Tom is in the shit now, for sure. Hooray. Smug git.

chocolatedot · 04/03/2009 15:05

Matt's "Fraud" sounds extremely clumsy not to mention unlikely.

I just cannot stand listening to David, Ruth and horror of horrors Pip these days. Why do they have to be so jolly and smug?

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/03/2009 17:42

pig shit !
agree about Pip - cannot bear to listen to her

poppy34 · 04/03/2009 17:43

it is the most crass of storylines.. but I like matt - and best of all am loving fact that tom the smug git (but not as smug as helen and her flat) is going to get his comeuppance.

as for pip and her 5 mile food radius - it would do us all a favour if she ate nothing for the next 3 weeks...

zanz1bar · 04/03/2009 18:53

Save Tiger!
If he goes Dahhhnnn, i suggest a rescue committee, break him out of boredsetshires county goal dressed in a milkmaids outfit.

charitygirl · 04/03/2009 18:57

Much as I can't bear Tom (or indeed Helen, or Pat and Tony) I think this is going to be hard to listen to - mainly cos I do like Brenda, and she's going to lose her job AND have her boyfried lose his business.

ipanemagirl · 04/03/2009 22:38

yes I quite like Brenda too!

PIP - forgive me but a nasty drowning in local pig shite would be just what she deserves....

And Shula squirming all over her horse when saintly Alan's about, ugh, can't BEAR shula. I really hate them all actually except..... um.........
Matt and................... um........
Debbie and ................................................
Brian and..... I sometimes like Lilian

But the plotlines are dreary aren't they... not Nick and Will AGAIN... give us a break, I can't stand another hovering child abuse plotline.....

seeker · 04/03/2009 22:59

In the Archers next week......Susan gives Matt her top tips on surviving in prison - and love blossoms over the counter of the shop. Alan goes round to console Lillian - and love blossoms over the gin and tonics. Brenda is arrested as an accessory. Tom has to eat humble pie with Brian - and love blossoms over the pig sty.

ipanemagirl · 04/03/2009 23:05

LOL seeker!

chocolatedot · 05/03/2009 09:48

It does strike me reading this how few Archers characters anyone actually likes (Matt and Brian seems to be about it). I wonder whether the writers really intend for characters like Pip to be so despised.

CoffeeCrazedMama · 23/03/2009 10:27

Just had to resurrect this thread to express new and extreme loathing for Tom Archer. Talk about me, me, me. If he hadn't been such a big baby about the whole Brian thing, worrying the life out of poor old Bren with his sulks and moods, she wouldn't have fallen for Matt's dodgy offer.

R4 · 23/03/2009 11:10

Can I join in the expression of new and extreme loathing ... for the scriptwriters. Why on earth would Brenda tell the SFO about the hush money when (a) it was all verbal, there was nothing in writing and (b) no money changed hands. There was nothing to pin on her, so why mention it? Not at all believable.

PS somebody please fill me in on what happened to Usha 'victim' Gupta. That woman's whining, whingeing voice sends me demented.

Agree about Bren - she's surely worked for Matt long enough not to be such a dopey blabber mouth, or surely he'd have ditched her after first week?

Usha was out running when a car sped past too close, knocking her into a ditch or hedge or something. He stopped, she told him off, he said sorry, then offered lift. When she said no thanks, he turned nasty and menacing. It sounded as if he was going to rape her, talking about her being a 'good looking woman', then he just knicked her mp3 and told her that's what she got for not politely accepting lift.

After he'd sped off, Matt and Lilian came past and dropped her home.

Lilymaid · 23/03/2009 12:33

I wondered whether the driver of the car was the gambler that Alistair was trying to help?
I don't think an SFO investigation would proceed in quite the way portrayed in Brenda's interview.

moodlumthehoodlum · 23/03/2009 12:35

I really hate Tom. And I can't believe that there is an actual entire storyline about drainage systems fgs.

R4 · 23/03/2009 12:45

Thanks CCM. Actually, after I posted, I decided that I was being lazy to expect MN to fill in the gaps in the plot and went to Listen Again.
Usha really is unbelievable, isn't she. She's suposed to be this high-powered legal type who can think on her feet in Court but the moment anything happens in her personal life she turns into a weedy and pathetic and useless victim.
Why didn't she take the Registration number of the car!!!??
Methinks that Sinister Man had too distinctive an accent to be a bit-part: he is bound to turn up again, you mark my words.

MargaretMountford · 23/03/2009 12:46

Tom is so whiney and selfish...what on earth does Bren see in him ?

Lilymaid · 23/03/2009 12:56

I knew the moment that Mike realised that he was alone in his new home that he would be alone for ... around 24 hours before Bren re-appeared!

scampadoodle · 23/03/2009 12:57

I've said it before & I'll say it again: Tom is a selfish, immature little pillock...

zanz1bar · 23/03/2009 14:12

Mike, What a lovely dad. He can come round to my house with tea and sympathy any time.

zanz1bar · 23/03/2009 14:13

i meant in a friendly be my surrogate dad way, not anything else.

CoffeeCrazedMama · 23/03/2009 17:37

I agree, zanz1bar - he is such a dependable old bear, isn't he. I was cheering when he decided to drop them all in it in the Bull - defending his little girl against all the meanies.

womblingalong · 23/03/2009 17:43

I love Usha, R4, it's Shula who is whiny and annoying!
