I'll just have to start one then.

OP posts:
hollyivypoppy34 · 02/12/2008 17:58

lol - prob not as joe is too busy worrying about the turkeys

CoffeeCrazedMama · 03/12/2008 07:37

Did anyone see the item on last night's news about the 'Lapland' experience in the New Forest - Grundy's World of Christmas escapes to Real Life!

CoffeeCrazedMama · 03/12/2008 07:38

Oops, didn't read the top of the thread as thought it hadn't moved on!

boogeek · 07/12/2008 10:46

I'm just listening to the omnibus - LOL at Brian "what sort of parents call their child Marshall"! Do you think he's been on the baby names topic here?

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 07/12/2008 13:25

oh I just hope that Christophurrr and horrid Alice stay together, if only to irritate the hell out of Brian and Jennifer

boogeek · 07/12/2008 17:08

LOL. Is so Jilly Cooper, that storyline. Will she fall pregnant, I wonder? There's a history of it in her family ;)

R4 · 11/12/2008 16:18

I have obviously missed a bit.
Can someone please explain about Christophurrrr and Mrs Wooley's flat. What flat? Why is he moving?

hollyivypoppy34 · 11/12/2008 19:35

he is not to my knowledge - neil is doign it up as susan twisted peggys arm to get it done up to let out so it coudl support the shop (there is a discussion -who is worse - peggy or susan).

and agree - there is somethign jilly cooper re teh alice/christopher storyline

and what is going on with alistair.. is this something to do with him gambling again?

R4 · 11/12/2008 23:07

Ah, thank you.
Thinks: if Peggy is letting out the flat does this mean A New Person in Ambridge?
Any bets on what unlikely character, with an equally weird accent, will turn up?

boogeek · 12/12/2008 08:14

Noooo, surely not! There must be somebody currently house-hunting. (Or Ryan? He might move in and blow Alistair's cover?!)

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 12/12/2008 14:31

Peggy or Susan ? now that's tricky - both make me grind my teeth

FiveGoMadInDorset · 15/12/2008 10:24

So when is Ryan going to burgle Alistair and Shulas house?

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 15/12/2008 10:50

oh God yes, it's leading up to something like that, isn't it ? do you think that's why Alistair was so cagey about Ryan seeing his house, because the Blessed Shula does know of A's particular interest in him...

hollyivypoppy34 · 15/12/2008 19:51

oh give me strength - a willyem and nic based episode..

unavailable · 16/12/2008 13:27

My plea to Archers scriptwriters - Please dont get Whiney Will and doormat Nic back together (unless that means they both move to Gloucestershire and we dont hear from them again.)

christMAScomesbutonceayear · 16/12/2008 14:54

is Will stupid or wjhat ? actually I know he is...doesn't he remember Nic hitting George fgs ?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/01/2009 22:33

It has been a long time since any comments have been made.

has nobody any thoughts on Will and Nic (vomit)

Matt and Chalky

Jazzer, Hannah Chris and Alice

Alistair and Ryan

and last but not least

Usha and Mabel.

choccyp1g · 10/01/2009 22:43

The trouble is it all seems to have gone so BORING lately. I record it every night and play it when DS is asleep, and lately I've sometimes gone two or three days before bothering to listen. 5goMad your post just sums it up, it's all so many bitty little stories, most of which just peter out.

campion · 11/01/2009 01:42

Will and Nic - Yawn. It'll end in tears (again). Nic will run over Will after passing her test.

Matt and Chalky. Who cares?

Jazzer, Hannah, Chris and Alice. See above.

Alistair and Ryan. Al is a just a boring character and this storyline seems contrived. It's time PhilnJill got to hear about Al's little matter of that 100K.

Usha and Mabel. Usha is sanctimonious and I don't like her much. Mabel seems to be relacing Auntie Satya as the soothsayer.

choccyp1g - you must bring up your children to know that 'The Archers' a) exists and b) they must be SILENT throughout.
They learn. Eventually.

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/01/2009 10:09

the Alistair and Ryan thing is the most tedious - we need more Tiger and Puss Cat

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/01/2009 11:51

Oh please let Christophurrrr dump Alice and take up with Hannah ( poor Jazzer though) and you're right there I reckon campion - Nic's going to hang on to pass her test - it'll end in tears and in Will going completely loopy

poppy34 · 11/01/2009 22:15

must admit the re arrival of nic and will has put me off... and can't see chris seeing sense (don't forget he gets fifty percent of his genes from susan)

as for the alistair storyline -its really hard to care....

MaryAnnSingleton · 11/01/2009 22:40

that's true poppy

alphabetsoup · 12/01/2009 20:06

I'm living in hope that the little threads they are dropping for us will get picked up soon into some properly knitted stories:

  • Ryan the burglar or maybe a blackmailer
  • Christofurr and Alice make a baby
  • Nic ? deeply irritating...let's see...maybe turns into a proper psycho leaching all the money she can get out of Will and turning more violent and snappy towards the children
Threadworm · 12/01/2009 20:09

That scene today, with Chris putting a shoe on Spearmint or whoever. It has made me fall in lust with him. The image of him bending over a raised hoof, muscular and clad in leather apron. Tanned skin, blonde hair falling forward.
