All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed, and of course we are always delighted to welcome back former or occasional listeners/posters. We don't all agree on all points, although we do mostly try to be civil about it. Most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd love to administer Bert's mucus medicine, or other unusual views.

Well that’s just ridiculous. Who has the right to judge how anyone says their own name?
If it's your name or a common name then it's really weird if someone insists they are saying it correctly.
Something like a Hazel insisting her name rhymes with Gazelle and that all the other Hazels are wrong.

People sometimes people tell you your name is something else. Example, insisting your name is Kirstie Milton not Kirsty Miller. Now that's a bit ridiculous.

I’m Scottish I have heard many a butchering of Scottish names by Americans and Australians, couldn’t care less.
That doesn't mean the rest of us have to not mind or are wrong if we give them the side eye.

I’m catching up on episodes via Sounds and tbh whilst not a Harrison fan at all I’m surprised he had moved on so quickly - of course it had to be with the daughter of the woman now employing his soon to be ex wife. @BeaLola

I like Harrison and have enjoyed the civilised though not overly easy nature of the way the separation, if it can be called that, has been handled. This moving on to Lily seems not quite him, though the requirements of the SLs override any consideration of long term characterisation.

But I'm picturing round biscuits so I think I'm thinking of Marie.
I imagine I could get butter to squeeze through most things. I probably deserve some sort of record for the amount I can get in a crumpet (plus the merest smear of Marmite).

Fallon was as creepy over Lily and Conrad as Helen was over finding Kirsty was pregnant. Another unbelievable episode.

I think it speaks volumes that the 71 posts I just scrolled back to read after listening to last night's episode were mainly about the pronunciation of assorted Irish names. I hadn't even clocked that there was a character called Mahoney (was that Conrad's other name?) I was more puzzled as to why the improbably named Conrad was playing such a key role in yesterday's proceedings. Unbelievably tedious however it is pronounced.

But Esme's surname is Mulligan, isn't it? Is there some controversy about how to pronounce that?

I can't remember, and I can't be bothered to read back. There's a farm or field called Marnie's somewhere, isn't there?

I found it really weird that we just met Conrad and then in the next episode he’s having a drink with Lily, in The Bull, where Fallon - despite just starting her new job - is working behind the bar.

Felt very contrived!

Went out last night so missed this. Have to catch up later.
I remember working somewhere where the list of staff there included a "Siobhan". I remember thinking "Well, I've met Shove-awn, I wonder who this "See-oh-ban" is 🤦🏻‍♀️

The best bit about this nonsensical story line was when Ruth offered Khalil to come and help with the calving (or was it lambing?). If he was that upset by seeing the aftermath of Monty's attack, I'm not sure witnessing a calving going wrong would do him any good!
